Iloilo - Guimaras [Thread 2]

@examiner30, day tour at guimaras is possible. but you can only cover at most 2 towns for that matter. best is jordan coz that's where the trappist monastery is, then you may take a 30 min jeepney or tricycle ride to nueva valencia town where the popular raymen beach is and where taklong island is, (marine sanctuary managed by UP Visayas).

Seafood restos popular in iloilo are tatoy's manokan and breakthrough and these are located at the seaside district of Villa. Tatoy's is best known for its inasal na manok. at the city proper, well there are lots of choices like Net's and Tat's (branch of Tatoy's), Buto't Balat, Freska's and other restos at Smallville. Try Ted's batchoy and Deco's batchoy as well and compare which is best suited for your taste. 

@tungek, not possible sis coz concepcion and guimaras are way off each other.

hi mga sis,

Malapit na punta namin s iloilo and guimaras but still we don't have itinerary,  According to my friends will be living in Manila at 11am August 6 and will be back on August 8 with 8:30PM flight .

If you were us mga Sis.  will it be better ba if we go straight to miag-ao and eat to breakthrough or Tatyos first then head to guimaras and spend the remaining days there?

Questions: Anong oras last trip s wharf going to guimaras? how long yung byahe from iloilo city proper to miag-ao? 

And i think hindi n pasok budget namin sa La puerta since 3 or 4 na lang kami.

Anyone have the new contact numbers of Villa Igang yung na research ko kasi s net eh both hindi nag work2..

^from the city proper, it takes at most 45 min to reach the lovely quaint town of miag-ao. miag-ao's a university town. UP Visayas' main campus is situated there (btw, it's the biggest campus of UP, larger than UPLB). i love the scenery coz the campus is beside the beach and at the same time, the terrain's hilly and green.   

Tatoy's and Breakthrough are just in the city. you could stop over here prior to going to miag-ao. 

if you gonna arrive at 11am, last trip yata at the wharf is around 6 or 7pm i think. i googled this link http://guimaras.gov.ph/tourism/beach-resorts/http://. IMHO, this may help you.

sis cindylulu, super thank you sa mga tips. grateful tlaga ako sis but im so sad to say na hindi ako nakapunta ng guimaras...  kasi yung kasama ko matatakutin sa tubig eh umulan lang konti ayaw na niya as in... so nag miag-ao na lang kami.

share ko na rin what we did, since church visit na lang ang nsa iti namin nag commute na lang kami.we rode the Ceres bus to antique (terminal is near molo church) at 8am. hindi aircon pero trust me, the trip is much better than i expected (province so fresh air and hibdi siksikan as i imagined haha). fare is only php44 as compared kung pumatol kami sa taxi na offer 1400 balikan. very easy to commute, advisable sa mga walang kasamang kids. the trip took 50mins (di ko man lang namalayan dahil ok naman ang trip). photo ops lang sa miag-ao for 15mins. awesome scarvings sa church. this is now my favorite church in terms of structure!

then sakay naman kami sa jeep going iloilo at bumaba kami sa guimbal (fare is 20). photo ops uli sa church.nice din pero harap lang pala un.hehe then bus to iloilo city.yellow kasi color ng ceres dito, njng may yellow bus sumakay na kami. yun pala rm liner ang name.haha sabi namin ibaba kami sa molo church pero sa mohon terminal (20 din ang fare)lang pala yung bus.not sure kung lahat ng bus gang dito lang or yung rm liner lang. anyways, my jeeps naman dun (villa-iloilo city route).sumakay ulit kami 7.50 gang molo church na. photo ops uli

the whole 5days na andito ako for work all commute lang kami.very easy lang pala mag commute dito. nung fisrt day namin nag round kami sa city proper, then jaro.

sis cindylulu super thanks din pala sa food tips! yey i tried deco's, ted's, tatuys and freska. sarap lahat except freska.so frustrated with their crispy pata maanta siya at matigas, tapos yung ginataang langka sobrang asim talaga... time for breakthrough later! excited! hehe

^you're welcome sis! it's good hindi kayo nagka ligaw ligaw hahaha! when we were there, a dozen (or more ata) of us ate at breakthrough's and it costed us only 3k! the food was really good (i had my fair share of talaba), paluto style sila kaya you know the ingredients are really fresh. at smallville naman, my favorite is afrique's. love their anchovies pizza and ox tongue. ang laki pa ng serving! there's also crave burger and one cozy burger joint (forgot the name) at jaro na parang pinggan kalaki ang burger! obviously food trip na hahaha! bought lots of pastries at biscocho haus and at mama's kitchen. para yatang every nook and cranny of iloilo smells of food hahaha!

naku sis tanong kami ng tanong at bilin kami ng bilin sa mga driver kung san kami ibaba... hehe nung first day pa namin dito eh di nagjeep kami from smallville to iznart.yung address kasi ng auditee eh iznart corner magsaysay daw. aba si kuya binaba kami sa may capitol sabi nya yan na magsaysay sabay turo sa hi-way. to sum it up naglakad kami from capitol to plazoleta mga 3 kanto ata na malalaki! hahaha in fairness tuwang tuwa naman ako at trying hard pumara. just say "lugar lang" in a sweet way... hahaha

naku sayang di ko alam yung pizza ang burger na yun...hmmm d bale next time uli

nakita ko yung Ong Bun sa may Ledesma.if my memory serves me right parang light pink ata yung kulay.hehe so based sa nakita ko yung share ko sayo (sorry sis hindi ako taga iloilo pero fresh pa yung experience ko sa pag commute dun). from sm city iloilo sakay ka ng jeep na libertad-iloilo city proper tapos baba ka sa may plazoleta (rotonda satin to). tpos pagkanan mo sis Ledesma na yun pwede mo lang lakarin to Ong Bun. Not sure though kung gano kalayo pero sure ako na hindi ito malayong nkakapagod. other way is sakay ka naman ng jeep na madurriao-iloilo city proper at baba ka sa tapat na ng Ong Bun.take note sis kung sa plazoleta ka bumaba nasa right side yung OB at pg manduriao sinakyan mo nasa kabila yung OB so need mo tumawid.

OB to sm delgado sis walkable siya wala ng mas mgandang paraan na marating mo yun kundi lakad kasi malapit lang.ikutan mo lang yung block ng OB makita mo yung sm delgado.

yung papunta molo church sis hanapin mo lang san yung villa-arevalo route... dumadaan yun sa may molo church mismo... not sure kasi kung dun siya mismo sa may sm delgado sumusulpot or a block away... hope it helps kahit kulang hehe

if you're going to molo church from sm delgado, you take the jeep plying delgado st with "Villa" as signboard. it will pass by molo. molo plaza and church will be at your left.

if you're going to sm city from ledesma-delgado st, take "Leganes" jeep and it will pass sm city. when you return to ledesma-delgado st (where ong bun is) from sm city, just the same, take "Leganes" jeep.

hi mga sis. I'm back from my Iloilo-Guimaras trip. Sad to say, inulan kami nung 2nd day  hinde ko masyadong nasulit ang Guimaras, buti na lang maganda yung room namin.

We stayed at La Puerta, Hill Top room. Pagpasok pa lang namin as in napa-wowwwww ako and goosebumps, it's so lovely,picture perfect! Sulit naman pala yung price ng rooms, ganda ng lugar at tahimik, 3 lang yung room na occupied that time. Parang amin lang talaga yung resort. Medyo dissapointed lang ako sa price ng food. Expensive sya for me, eh walang ibang choice. First dinner, we chose the buttered shrimps, pagdating ng order ang konti, talagang nalungkot kami bigla kase sabi good for 2-3 persons daw, 10 pcs lang sya at binilang talaga namin. Cost Php350. Na-try ko sinigang na maya-maya, 2pcs slice ng fish, mas ok to kase medyo malaki naman yung slice, cost Php230. Breakfast nila Php220 without drinks, the usual tapsilog, cornsilog, so so lang. Staff nila mababait and madali kausap.

Lahat ng trip namin DIY lang sa transpo, except nung pabalik na kami sa Jordan port from La Puerta, nagpahatid kami sa revo nila. Then nag-stop over kami sa Trappist at sa bilihan ng mangga.

eto summary ng itinerary namin...sana makatulong 

Day 1
- arrived 12noon at airport
- airport to SM city via van
- lunch at Breakthrough in SM City foodcourt
- taxi to port (supposed to be Ortiz wharf but malakas yung alon, instead dinala kami ng taxi driver sa ibang wharf, my bad, hinde ko matandaan yung name ng port
- travel Jordan port to Lucmayan via jeepney
- travel Lucmayan to La Puerta via habal habal

Day 2
- went to Taklong island lang, ang alon eh wala na pwedeng puntahan pang iba  then pass lang sa mangroves nung pauwi na
- tambay the whole day, lakas ng ulan at hangin, imagine nasa cliff kami, medyo nakakatakot sya

Day 3
- travel to Jordan Port, pass by Trappist and market for the mangoes
- boat ride from Jordan to Ortiz Wharf
- from Ortiz Wharf nag-taxi lang kami going to SM City
- SM City to Jaro Church via jeepney
- Jaro Church to SM Delgado (naligaw lang kami nito kaya kami nakarating ng Delgado, 2 pala SM sa city  )
- SM Delgado to Tatoy's via taxi
- Tatoy's to SM City via jeepney
- SM City to Airport via van
- depart 7:30pm

^kakainggit ka naman sis. kahit papano you get to do nature tripping at guimaras. yung gustong-gusto ko ay boating sana kasi maraming coves, caves and islets to explore. have you seen the rest house of the lopezes (clan of celine lopez) which is on top of a rocky islet? sosyal no?

naku sis taklong lang napuntahan ko kase pa-ulan na tsaka lakas ng alon. inabot nga kami ng ulan nung pauwi na. may nakita kong resthouse, green yung roof nya, kita sa room namin from La Puerta. hinde ko lang sure kung yun na yun

pasensya n ulit ask ko lang ulit mga sis from airport ano sasakyan namin para makapunta ng breakthrough or tatoys. ?  Then from breakthrough malapit naba [textspeak!] terminal ng jeep papuntang Miag-ao Church? if ok lang po sana pa share ng exact location or landmarks kung saan [textspeak!] terminal

Then if from Miag-ao pabalik ng city ano po ulit sasakyan namin? Or my sasakyan po bang pwede ng dumiretso s Jordan wharf or wharf papuntang guimaras?

Wow! nice talaga dun sa hill top parang nasa barko ka lang lagi. hehe. For me, okay naman food nila.
Masarap naman compared sa ibang food na pricey nga hindi naman masarap.
