and my daughter just turned 13 last September, 2010. ;'(

hi sis.. naku, parang napaka serious ni 15 y/o boy. I suggest that you talk to your daughter about it, sino ba si 15 y/o boy sa buhay nya. Try to talk to her para malaman mo kung ano pinagdadaanan nya now..  is she rebellious? how is your relationship with your daughter?

13 yo, grade 7/ 1 st yr high school
15 yo, 2nd/3rd yr HS ... right?

too young, pero it's nice na may nagmamahal sa anak mo.

Naku, eto rin ang sabi ng boyfriend na anak ko (my daughter is 16, first year college). BF niya ito since 4th year HS sila.

To the boylet naman kausapin mo lang din na maghintay sya until the time is right... That is true love hehehhe

ako rin, alala ko nun 14 or 15 y/o ako... too young to fall in-love... but on those stages, very compulsive pa lang sila... and puppy love pa lang yan... sabi nga... saka mo na lang masasabi na true love kapag may kalakip na sacrifices... kung makasurvive sila through the years, baka nga love nya talaga anak mo... lalo girl anak mo, bantayan mo kasi girl yan e... lalo baka bf na nya si 15 y/o... wag mo paghigpitan, lalong magloloko yan... kausapin mo na dapat, pag-aaral muna ang priority kasi marami pa syang mamemeet na boys pag nakatapos na ng pag-aaral.

It sounds sweet but scary at the same time so dapat maging careful yung daughter mo. I suggest you talk to your daughter if they have a relationship or kung gusto nya ba talaga si boy. May reason yan definitely for texting you, maybe he wants to prove something to your daughter or is soliciting attention. At their age, it may sound innocent and sweet at the same time but times are different now and hinde din natin alam ang thinking ng mga tao as well as what  they're capable of. Sorry for being nega ha. Better lang to be on the safe side.

kausapin si daughter about limitations or worst, divert her attention nalang. kase alam mo nman ang kabataan ngayon, pag lalong hinihigpitan, lalong kumakawala...

Sinabi din ito ng boyfriend ko before now my hubby, we were 15 y.o then, hinihiwalayan ko sya kasi nahuli ko sya na may 3rd party. Sinabi nya yan sa mom ko with all tears and hikbi... in front of my titas and titos...

yeah, high school moment nga ito. let's try to put ourselves in their situation. ewan ko, ako kasi i remember when I was in elementary may crushes na ko. when I stepped on to high school, feeling ko mature na ko. as in dalaga na. at yung mga college students na nakikita ko, matatanda na. during high school kasi talaga nangyayari yung ganyan. akala nila real love na yun. yung tipong pang matagalan na.it works for some, sa iba naman mere puppy love lang. masarap kasi yung feeling na inlove ka, tapos aggressive, as in papatunayan sa parents na serious talaga si guy. kala nila you and me against the world na kapag may kumontra. naloka din ako sa love na yan when I was in high school.

Pero iba talaga kapag may guidance from parents. Para sakin, when I was in that stage, it worked when my mom was there for me. hindi sya naging strict. she explained to me na normal lang na nangyayari yun sa isang teenager. and it's better to keep a good friendship with those people who admired me. ayun, hindi ako naging rebellious. naging open ako sa mom ko kasi hindi sya naghigpit sakin. so when i felt love and pain during my teenage years, she was there to help me understand why certain things happen.

I don't have a kid pero siguro if that happens to me in the future, I would do the same thing my mom did to me. Talk to my daughter, know the boy better, support the friendship para pati si boy maadvise din.

 :)

Hay naku sis, ka-stress naman yan. Pero like what others said, kausapin mo si daughter. Ask her if he knows the boy so well and if she likes him back. Kung gusto niya, remind her her priorities na sana studies muna, wag magmadali, etc. Talk to her in a nice way. And correct, wag mo masyado paghihigpitan. At dapat she should know her limits kamo.

Then siguro kilatisin mo din yung boy, invite mo over dinner (in case na gusto rin ng daughter mo) then sabay mo silang kausapin. Maging authoritative pero not naman nananakot or naghihigpit.
They are too young sis, pero di maiiwasan talaga yan.

Takot din ako for my 4yo daughter.

Assuming, your daughter knows him nga --
Keep cool.  Hwag mo pintasan si boy sa daughter mo -- baka mag dig- in and puppy-love/puppy-love more this boy kahit na he should be called The Frog.
Ignore it, hwag mo text back ; but inform your daughter.

Keep cool kasi you need to learn the truth about how they met, where they see each other, etc.
Do not pin her down on how she feels about him.  Initial  interrogation pa lang, so do not spook her into lying.  hehe

Then como aware na your daughter about the business of Pedro going after Sabel, kahit na nga ba bata pa si Sabel --  establish open lines with your  girl.  Do not offer your opinions, judgments, pronouncements --  kasi you want  her to open up to  you,  and keep the line open.  That way --  she does not feel under your microscope - or under  the gun ika nga -- you will have open communication
with her.

Stay cool, breathe and tell her normal lang ganyan - may liligaw sa kanya.  And normal din lang while young pa eh - sige, collect and collect muna more boys in love or infatuated with you.  But   tell her 13 is too young for any Sabel to be entertaining suitors.  At  15, puede na... Give  her something to  look forward to.  :D

Too cute but too young. :)

More on guidance na lang siguro pero tama wag paghigpitan pero wag din papayag na lumabas sila without a chaperone. Sorry pero highschool boys are not that trustworthy pagdating sa hormones. I do remember when I was in highschool, puro boys halos kabarkada ko, nakakaloka ang mga topic nila minsan. Sarap mga batukan. We were 14-16 then.

I have a 4 year old daughter and at her age she has "crushes", I know there will come a time na she'll think that she's "in-love". We won't freak out but we will not encourage it.

And besides I do not know how I would react pag nakaramdam na siya ng "first heartbreak". Ay nakakaloka!!!!!

same here sis, open ako sa mom ko and it helped while i was growing up. lahat ng naging bfs ko nabitbit ko sa bahay except yung parang fling lang na weeks or months lang ang tinagal. pero lahat naman yun nakkwento ko sa kanya.

i know of people who got together at that age and they're still together after 10 years. i guess as we grow older, nalilimutan natin how it was like when we were at that age.

could be puppy love, could be the real thing. but i think the fact that the young man expressed his feeling para sa daighter mo shows na seryoso nga siya ;)

hay.. to be young and in love  :-*
