^ I agree, malungkot ang Christmas dito lalo if you don't have lots of relatives.  Iba pa din ang Pasko sa Phils.  Kapag New Year, enjoy magwatch ng Sydney New Years Eve Fireworks though maraming tao talaga kaya maaga dapat pumunta. 

We will be most likely driving to Sydney from Melbourne to spend Christmas at our close friends there.

sa mga nag travel sa aussie, ang damingpabilin ng mga pinsan ko! isa dun pabilin nila purefood hotdogs,,,pwede naman yun sa check in diba? pati mga hopia at dried mangoes. takot ko baka mamaya mag ka aberya pa ko sa airport.

cathay pacific plane ko so stop over sa HK. makakapag duty free ba ko sa loob? o nasa holding area lang?

sorry 1st time ko is Sg kasi. ngayon ko lang maeexperience pumunta sa australia.

^I can tell you for sure, bubuksan bagahe mo and customs will inspect the food that you bring

make sure that when they give you the declaration card (before you land in Australia), you declare that you have food! Maraming nahuhuli dito, akala makakalusot! Just tell them you're bringing in food, then titingnan nila kung pwede ipasok sa Australia yun dala mong food (kaya bubuksan luggage mo), and pag ok, you can keep it, if not, di mo pwede ilabas ng airport kasi confiscate nila yun. They will not fine you if they find anything that you shouldn't be bringing in as long as you declare it.

But they will fine you if you don't declare and then nakita sa xray na may dala kang food.

sa mga sis na nag fly tapos stop over HK, makakapag dfs ba sa loob ng airport? my uncle bought tickets nung una sabi niya if i want PAL kaso sabi ko ayaw ko kasi mahal and straight flight, nakakabagot.

yes sis. you will love HK airport. ako rin, preferred ko ang may stop-over kasi nangangawit ako kakaupo kapag long flight. at least, maka-relax at tingin-tingin. i think, kahit window-shopping lang, nakaka-relax na sa ating girls. more so, kapag may bibilhin.

Sis, kulit din ng mga pinsan mo ah! Of all people, they should know how strict Australia is in terms of bringing in of food! Kung sa US, ang strict sila ay sa security (like for terrorism ganyan), dito strict sa agriculture nila. Baka masayang lang ang mga dadalhin mo. I'm pretty sure you will not be allowed to bring in the hotdog (because the meat is unidentifiable) and hopia because it has dairy in it (which they are very, very particular of). The dried mango is fine as long as it is sealed and commercially packaged / prepared. Do not bring in airline food as well. Make sure to declare everything. Nung nagpasok ako ng food once -- coffee from Vietnam and sampaloc from Bangkok -- nasa immigration pa lang kami nakapila, yung bag ko na may lamang food ibinaba na from the carousel kasi naamoy ng dog. Kung dinampot ko yun at pumila sa nothing to declare, I'm sure instant fine na ako.

how about yung pills kelangan ba ng prescription? or yung mga antibiotics like stafloxin?

kasama ba laptop sa 7kgs na handcarry?

sino dito earning money online as a freelancer? pag sa oz ba kinukuha yung money sa western union may tax?

^Yung pills hindi naman pero any prescription medicine, dapat meron just in case hanapin (you have to declare it as well). Although pag dito ka bibili, you need a prescription for pills.

Handcarry - 7kgs, a laptop and a handbag. But that's with Singapore Airlines, the budget airlines are so much stricter with hand-carry, lalo yung may flights offering carry-on bags only.

Hi mga Sis, im just new here sa thread and newly arrived here in Melbourne.  Ask ko lang how do you cope up with homesickness? Kase I think im developing a depression, sobrang lungkot, tahimik and most of all I feel na sobrang low ang morale due to unemployment.  Kase sa Pinas I have a good job, and coming here and getting the rejections makes me feel so inferior.  Madalas ko talaga umiiyak ko and hoping that when i wake up nasa pinas na lang ulit ako.

^would i be able to get a working visa ba if ever? we have relatives there kasi pero its like uncle na ng dad ko so medyo malayo na.. my plan is to migrate if I can and work there of course pero i've read somewhere na hindi naman direct nagrerelease ng working visa dito... wala akong ibang mapagtanungan. waa.

^if you go to the Working Holiday visa sa link that you provided, and then Visa Options, obviously wala nga ang Pinas dun... so ibig sabihin you cannot apply for a working visa. Kung tourist visa, hindi ka pwde magwork at all, and wala rin naman maghire sayo if you're a holder of such visa.

if you're planning on migrating here as a worker, you should be looking at http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/ and tingnan mo na lang which classification you fall under.

^^sis if tourist visa ang kukunin ko is it possible to get the working visa na there?? O wala talaga? If the tourist ang get ko saang visa ako magfall? I mean may iba ibang klase din under tourist eh. Also im single and 22. Mas madali ba kung migration ang kukunin ko? Sorry im really confused. I want to explore and go kasi soon. Thanks!

Hello, im not in OZ but im planning to go soon. Anyways, hope what i know will help you.

If you're going to apply for Migration visa you need to have a occupation under SOL list, then you can apply ENS (employer will sponsor you) Territory (sponsored by a state) or independent. You need to have a relevant work experience related to the occupation you are nominating. If you're granted any of the migration visa, lucky you. Permanent yun. Approval can take up to 6 months or more pero releasing it can take up to 2 years yata.

Tourist Visa - you can apply or drop off mo yun requirements sa embassy in makati. Pay the fees and wait for the approval. Meron din online application alam ko. Walang guarantee na maapprove ka. Madami factors na pwede maka affect sa application mo. I read somewhere even those people who have sufficient money and relatives in australia ay na rereject pa. Kung ano selection process nila, hindi ko alam. Mabilis lang process sa iba, a week or more. Yun iba can take up to 3 months.

Students visa- eto yun plan ko applyan. You need to enroll in an uni or tafe. After finishing school mabibigyan ka chance to look for an employer or grant ka ng graduate visa good for 18 months to help you gain relevant experience. Process is fast, weeks lang din as long as complete requirements and may coe ka na.

So far yan yun ways pa lang ng alam ko. Meron din 457 visa, di ko lang alam ang specifics nito basta dapat alam ko may employer din magsponsor and the visa is good for 4 years.

As sa question mo if apply ka tourist then saka ka hahanap ng work when you get there, I really don't know if its possible. Better ask yun mga nasa OZ na, im sure mas alam nila yan.

If interested ka talaga, start reading. Google ka lang madami ka malalaman. Ako yun lang ginawa ko. Kasi syempre iba iba naman tyo ng situation. So pwede yun alam ko is limited lang to what is applicable to me. Goodluck!
