Hi mommies! Did any of you had Group b Strep test in the Philippines? Is it also being done there during the late stage of your third trimester?

Hi mommy missdior!!Yes it had been required to me by my OB and the result was positive  My newborn baby was given lots of antibiotics because of it.

^mommy Shanna, i read na if positive you'll be given antibiotics during labor and delivery but didn't know na pati si baby pala bibigyan antibiotics. How's baby naman na?

Had my CAS at MDCare sa fishermall. 3.5k yung package na kinuha namin. Okay naman.

OgTT ko.. mas ok siyang i-take if tapos na sa first trimester. Kasi i took it first sa MCU.. hindi well ventilated ang waiting area. So sinuka ko lang lahat bago mag 3 hours.

Mas okay yung experience ko sa NWD, along quirino highway yung pinuntahan ko. 3x kukuhanan dugo and 12hrs yung fasting ko. mas mura don compared sa MCU.

Hi sisses! Kakatapos ko lang mag backread. Magpapa ultrasound palang ako on Dec 12 (currently 4-5 weeks pregnant). After nito cbc and urinalysis daw need sabi ni OB. Ask ko lang kung meron pa ibang pinagawa sa inyo during 4-7 weeks of pregnancy? Thank you!

Mommy Missdior ok naman si baby.Antibiotics talaga for prevention na hindi niya makuha yun sa akin. Since nursing grad naman si hubby , ipinagkatiwala ng pedia na iuwi na lang namin si baby sa bahay para di na magstay si baby sa hospital at di na mag accumulate ang bayarin namin. Naaawa nga ako kay hubby nun kasi kabado din siya kasi nga baby namin inject nya ng antibiotics(nilagyan heplock si baby para di mahirapan si hubby)one week talaga at three times a day yun Awa ng Diyos naging ok naman ang lahat at healthy si baby. Ngayon a preggy ulit ako abot abot langit dasal ko na sana di na ako mag GBS positive ulit

Second Trimester - Makati Medical Center
Routine laboratory tests (urinalysis, CBC, OGTT)
Other exams due to light spotting (urinalysis, urine culture, gramstain, vaginal smear culture)

I just entered my third trimester, any other lab tests which will be required in the third trimester? 😀

^ naka sched ako on march 10 urinalysis at 2hrs after meal glucose test. Sa new world makati na lang ako mag papa-lab test..  Alam ko pag third trimester na halos wala na lab test unless na high risk preg. ☺️

Hi Mommies!

I had undergone 1 routine check-up lang my entire pregnancy, which was nung 1st check up sa first trimester. Went through Urinalysis, CBC, VDRL and Hepa, and all were cleared naman. Had no complications throughout the whole pregnancy.

Now, at 37 weeks, pinapaulit lang ni OB yung  urinalysis ko kasi sa first urinalysis ko (nung 1st trimester) may bacteria so baka may hint of UTI. Pinagfluids lang niya ako throughout the pregnancy and I think okay naman since okay ang amniotic fluid ko and wala talagang complications ever since.

I think my OB believes in less is more, or siguro dahil wala naman akong complaints, my BP is always normal, weight gain is normal din (although i had to be encouraged to eat more several times), hindi na ako nag undergo ng iba pang lab tests.

^Yes sis coco_cola, sobrang excited na and inip na at the same time. I am tempted to do things that can allegedly "naturally induce" labor (like spicy food, sex, raspberry leaf tea, eggplants...) pero I figured I'd let our baby take its time nalang para ma-"fully cook" kumbaga hehe

Underwent my urinalysis today and cleared na ako of bacteria. This is my last lab exam before the big day na siguro

Bawal ba ang eggplant sa buntis? Can it induce labor?

^No naman, sis. Walang pinagbawal si OB sakin na anything throughout the pregnancy, and eggplants are nutritious naman so I guess hindi siya bawal.

I've heard about this eggplant parmigiana recipe lang from the states that induces labor daw, complete with testimonials pa. Hubby and I found it interesting so I cooked it for lunch yesterday. Not that we were hoping it's gonna work hehe

Kinabahan ako sis kasi going to 20 weeks pa lang ako. Okay Lang pag full term na. Hehe

So far eto pa lang pinagawa sa akin --- OGTT, routine urinalysis, CBC, HIV screening, HBsAG. Found out I have UTI and my glucose is higher than normal. Everything was done sa 24th week ko.

mga sis, im currently in my 12wks ng pregnancy and my OB has ordered us to take the First TRimester screening for early detection of chromosomal abnormalities (e.g. downsyndrome) -- iba pa sha sa CAS and should be taken only on the 12th-13th week of pregnancy...

May nakapag take na ba sa inyo ng test na ito? Sabi ng OB ko sa St. Lukes lang daw meron nito.. and we checked with St. Lukes and P8,700 sha..

Baka meron sa inyo nakapag take na nito sa ibang hospitals?

If it is, then yes I had one... for our peace of mind sana... kaso lumabas results, high risk daw na may chromosomal abnormality si bubs so ending, nagpa CVS tuloy to confirm. Pero sorry, I cannot advise how much it will cost sa Phils ha. Pero mahal talaga sya as far as I know... I checked my records and we paid $250 for the NT scan... tapos kasi nga false positive, ended up shelling out even more for the CVS ($390!) para magkaalaman na talaga kung meron or wala. Wala naman
