Lab Tests for expecting moms

Hi mga sis, i'm due to have my lab tests done this week... ang mahal pala ng lab tests 'no? magkano inabot ng sa inyo? dito ako sa eastwood nagtanong and nagsurvey ako between borough and md eastwood... aabutin ng more than P2,000 lahat-lahat. here's the breakdown:
CBC -  235
OGCT - 689
RBS- 225
HBSAG 232
ANTI-HBS 483
VDRL - 232

san ba kayo nagpa-lab tests mga sis? yung mura lang sana... or ganito na ba talaga ang rate sa lahat? taga- q.c. ako. TIA

Sis before anything else, how far along are you in your pregnancy?I think comprehensive enough naman yang bloodworks mo.I'm in Singapore and dito routine pala ang Congenital Abonormalities screening..combination of bloodtest from you/ultrasound for baby...iba siya from the usual scan sa OB mo (usually done starting 2nd trimester).Then there's the Fetal Profile scan...they check for each and every part of the baby in detail through a 3d/4d scan..for that price I think you got yourself a good bargain pa nga e...

I had my CAS (Congenital Abonormalities screening) in 2D (no blood tests) during my 6th month. i think routine ang lab tests na ito for those who are in their last trimester. Im on my 7th month and kailangan daw ito. glucose challenge test to check my sugar level, HBsAg to check for Hepa B, etc.

siguro nga sis, standard na itong mga rates na ito no?

never heard of fetal profile scan... or is it the same as 3D/4D?

sis ako nga ang test lang sa akin ay cbc, vdrl and HBSAG, para saan ba yun anti-hbs and RBS, sis na try mo din [textspeak!] screen test for Down syndrome? worried talaga ako ganito ako everytime na buntis hays,

I had my CAS (2d only) yesterday (on my 31st week).

Yong FBS, HBsAG screening, VDRL, CBC, FBS at Urinalysis were done on my 17th week. Charges totalled to P1,560 (CAS included)

Had my pap smear on my 2nd month of pregnancy din.

Actually parang ang mura nga ng mga tests nyo Basta wag sa Healthway mahal!!!  Although in fairness, super convenient nya.

Parang iba din yung timing... majority ng mga bloodtest ko, 1st trim ginawa (like yung Hepa, immunology, etc.).  OGCT 2x ginawa sa akin (1st trim and start of 3rd trim) kasi may family history kami ng diabetes.

When I was pregnant, I had my labtests done at a clinic near the hospital. Mura lang rates. sa hospital kase ang expensive na, matagal pa makuha. The only tests I had done sa hospital were my OGCT and urine culture (when I had recurring UTI).

thanks sis naughty_pink. naisip ko nga rin dun na lang magpa-lab tests... kasi compared to clinics and hospitals, yun talaga specialization nila. malinis pa and mura!

mga sis, pumunta ako sa hi-precision today... lahat lahat P835 lang binayaran ko. grabe sobrang mura. isipin niyo from 2,000 plus (sa Borough and MD Eastwood), P835 lang pala kung magpapa-lab test ka directly sa hi-precision??? and mas mabilis makuha ang results... the next day!
sa pagkakaalam ko kasi, yung mga clinics and hospitals ina-outsource din ang lab tests kaya pinaopatungan na lang nila.

i had my first OB check-up, magastos pala ang magbuntis. ang daming laboratory na kailangan. sana pwede HMO card ko.. ang problema kasi sa HMO card ko, kapag preggy hindi covered ang consultation.. ewan ko lang ang laboratories. sana kasi baka mamulubi na ako..

sis sweetsorrow  sa HMO card ko naman anything na related sa pregnancy, di covered. nung 2nd month ko nagka-UTI ako... dapat di ko muna dinisclose na preggy ako para nacover pa. pero unlimited pre natal check up.

sa hi-precision ka na lang din sis. make sure punta ka ng maaga para di ka mahassle.

My HMO covers only the maternity consultation, meaning checkups lang. My husband and I shoulder the expenses for the laboratory exams. Fortunately, we're having ours at New World Laboratory and the super affordable. Our OB recommended it (most of CGH private patients yata go to New World for laboratory needs). Excellent and prompt service. Why don't you check it out?

^same tayo, consultation is HMO covered until post-pregnancy, but lab tests and delivery itself hindi na.  and same ulet sa New World din ako nagpapa-lab test before.  if i'm not mistaken mas mura pa sila sa Hi-Precision, pwede mo pa ma-check results online sa website nila.  if you're from QC, may New World sa tabi ng SM Annex, sa D.Tuazon, even sa may Baesa.

dami din pinakuha sa 'kin nung 1st time namin magpunta sa OB.  blood, hepa, sugar, urine, measles, etc.. sabi nga nung med tech sa New World special nga daw.  when we got the results i realized kaya pala ganun mga precautionary measures na pala nung OB ko yun, para malaman na rin yung history ng health ko tsaka para malaman kung san ako pwede maging prone eventually.  it was worth it.  yun lang naman yung marami, yung sumunod months after na - sugar, pap smear, urinalysis.

^from what i know pag blood sugar ang kelangan dun dapat may fasting.  pag usual cbc, blood-typing, etc. hindi na.
