Authentic VS Replica Bags

Authentic.. I would rather save my money to buy an original piece than con myself into thinking that I can get away with a fake bag...

how do you draw the line between a replica and a fake?

Obviously fakes have the logos blasted across the bag, but replicas can also mean that a bag is similar in style. For example the neverfull design is not exactly unique, there are tons of bags out there that have a similar design. Would that be considered a replica?

I bought a suede bag from HK whose style is similar to the Givenchy Nightingale, it doesn't have a Givenchy logo though and comes with a body strap too. It's a replica but not a fake.

I think the precise term used in design is "inspired by" a particular brand and not replica. A "replica" is to replicate all of the details including the branding. So we say Hermes-inspired Secosana bag kung yung look lang yung ginaya not necessarily all the details.

I'm not into replicas and I'm not into high end brands as well. I'd rather buy those matibay and anti-thef bags from pacsafe anyway. As I grow old, I'm looking for things with high quality (same with clothes and make-ups) than buy a lot with knock-offs.

Pero to be honest, when I was younger and wasn't earning my own money yet, go ako dun sa mura I don't care if it's fake or not.  hahahaha. But not "in your face" fake bags tho, like LV or hermes na knock-offs. Yung mga fake lang na hindi mashadong halata na fake sila. Hahaha. Kasi kapag sumasakaY ka ng public vehicles...like jeep tapos naka-LV ka (even if it's authentic), for sure pagkakamalan ng mga tao na fake ang gamit mo (LOL). Wag mo lang pahalata tho. Hahahaha.

Just buy what you can afford at the moment since there are other brands (or without) that are of good quality. Better that than buying a replica that gets damaged or worn out easily and screams trying hard. Pwede naman pagipunan yung mga branded and designer bags later on

MGA SIS HELP! HOW TO KNOW IF IT'S REAL OR NOT?

I wanna buy a designer bag. Sa instagram, may mga seller ng BRAND NEW , michael kors and tory and the price ranges from 3,000-5,000 (lc), 7500-10k (tory and mk). Ang BURBERRY and GIVENCHY nightingale naman is more or less 20,000. It is emphasized on their pages na AUTHENTIC talaga and brand new ito mga sis at a very low prices specially for givenchy which is 80% off sa retail price. They have good feedbacks from the buyers. Pero nagdadalawa isip ako if authentic ba since super drop ng price. Pero syempre, i wanna save and get the bag i want as much as possible.

So, mga sis any advice on how to know if real or not since most of em dont do meet-ups and possible ba na may mga sellers na ganun kababa ang offer? Sa mga sis na nakabili na sa online shop and can relate, share naman your views THANK YOU!

^^sis, what you can do is go direct to the brands' websites and check the prices. Pag sobrang baba ng presyo na tipong mas mababa yung benta ng reseller compared to the brands' websites then magsuspect ka na na fake or replica. We are talking of in-season items ha.

For items na past season or discontinued, hindi mo na sya makikita sa website but you can always google and compare mo the prices with other trusted resellers.

Hello sissies! How true na you can get fined or your bag confiscated sa airport if you're carrying a replica bag? What if mirror replica naman the bag as in very nice quality siya hindi yung nabibili na super cheap. I've read kasi sabi myth lang daw ito. I was thinking kasi, would the authorities really bother to check the handbags the people are carrying if it's authentic or not? And how would they even know kung authentic nga or hindi if it's a mirror replica?

^It's not a myth. You really can be fined and your bag confiscated by the authorities if proven na fake yung bag mo or any item for that matter. Specially in the US and some European countries kung saan very strict sila when it comes to piracy. And they have ways of knowing whether fake or hindi ang bag/item mo.

someone i know claims that she is selling luxury branded bags (Lv, gucci, channel, LC etc), she travels frequently to swiss where an aunt lives with a swiss husband. she will bring home around 10-15 pcs of those branded bags and will sell an LV for not more than 20k php. the lv is heavy and mukang orig talaga..pero ang alam ko sa switzerland they dont allow fakes 

just recently i came to know about the "mirror replicas" in europe which they said uses the same material as the original? .... an LV with a genuine oxidizing cowhide leather and includes all correct markings? the only difference is that its cheaper than the original. so where to draw the line now? im really confused.

Really sis? Kakatakot na pala to carry replica bags sa airport kahit na mirror quality. Do you personally know someone na may ganyang experience? Napaisip tuloy ako, kakatuwa naman yung mga security sa airport. Part ng training 101 nila "authentic vs. fake bags". Hehe!

^it's not the security who will apprehend you but the customs personnel. They are trained to spot fakes/ replicas. And yes, I know of people (not personally) who have been apprehended and worst some were even deported back to Manila. I've worked at the airport for more than 20 years (recently retired from the airline industry).

naalala ko tuloy yung seller sa FB na pinagyabangan pa ko kasi kinuwestyon ko sya bat 20k lang yung nightingale na binebenta nya sabihan pa ko kung gusto ko daw taasan nya for me.
