Hi mga sis! I will travel to Finland next month. I just wanna ask if yun immigration diyan sa NAIA do they ask how much money/euro you have?

^In my experience it would depend on your travel history/profile. Sa amin kasi walang tanong-tanong na basta tatak na lang sila. But upon our arrival in Europe dun na kami tinatanong ng IO about our visit pero never pa naman kami natanong magkano dala naming pera. Usually tanong is how long we are staying, where we are going and where kami mag-stay.

If you are concerned about your pocket money, just be honest with the IO here na you have enough for your stay in Europe. It would help a lot if you have a credit card too.

@gorgeous_brat18: No questions at all when I traveled to Amsterdam. Didn't ask if I was traveling alone or why. Didn't ask how much money I had. I only traveled to three countries before so hindi rin super dami ng stamp sa passport ko.

In AMS, the IO there greeted me "Mabuhay!" then asked me how long will I stay in Amsterdam. Yun lang. Tapos stamp na! If the question will be asked, just be honest.

^sis, by May wala na KLM dito. Until end of April na lang sila unless mag-extend sila ng services dito. Sayang nga kasi looks like hubby will be given a vacation this April-May and balak namin mag-KLM kasi malaki ang mura nya compared to our airline, CX.

Im currently in paris now and im very much loving it! Weather is not bitter cold, and nice to walk around. Ang dami [textspeak!] touristsna puti! Very few asians and halos walang pinoy

^sis, if I were you better ask your family to check with KLM if they will be protected to other airlines after they stop their operations in end of April. True you can still book with them even past April, I have tried mock booking with them for our flight this coming September and lumalabas meron pa silang flight. I suspect those who bought tickets with them with flights after April 2012 will be transferred to another airline. My worry lang is if hindi pasok yung schedule ng flight sa gusto kong itinerary. 

As of now, Mar Roxas is still trying to convince KLM to continue their operations here in Manila but ang stand ng KLM unless they and other foreign carriers be given a tax break (like being done in other countries) they will end their MNL/AMS VV service by April 30. So right now, wait and see muna.

Kung ako ay may budget o mananalo sa lotto, uulit ako sa Europe this year. Pero ipon ipon mode muna.

To our fellow sistahs dreaming to do Europe 2012, may promo fare ang CX (Cathay Pacific).

Selling period is until January 31, 2012
Travel period is from now until September 30, 2012
USD 790 ang base fare which results to a total of 1,189 inclusive of taxes. Not that cheap, pero pwede na dahil CX naman ang carrier (I love their individual TV screens).

Yup, that's pretty cheap for CX round trip fares. Plus CX will be coming out with much lower fares this coming February during the weekend Travel Expo. Yun lang very limited seats and you have to book and buy during the expo. Now if you can wait that long you can get fares for $800-900 all-in

@m_lim, the PTAA Travel Tour expo will be at the SMX Convention center this coming 17-19Feb. Good luck! 

@shololauy, usually the travel dates are until Dec 15 but very, very limited seats kaya unahan talaga and usually by Sunday the last day of the expo ubos na yung mga seats na naka-promo. If you really want to get some good deals be there first thing on Friday the 17th Feb.

Hi shololauy..sige ba keep me posted sa Europe plans mo. Oo nga eh parang ok din mala sis melody lang ang drama solo in Europe pero hirap lang yung sa picture taking hahaha struggle talaga.

^hehe, uu, natry ko p lang magsolo travel sa sagada, pero sumali din kasi ako sa group non, na halos lahat sa gt ko lang nameet, hehe, para makatipid sa activities, at least don may guides na taga-pic, kapag ikaw lang mag-isa, parang kelangan ko ng monopod maliban sa tripod, hahaha, sige will keep you posted, update na lang tayo saya saya

hi, what other airlines can you recommend to go to europe? we flew with KLM and Lufthansa before but wala na silang operations dito. KLM until march ata pero our travel plans will be after march pa. sana yung pinakadirect flight na to Amsterdam. thanks!

When KLM stops their operations in April, there will be no more direct flights to Europe. You will be left with carriers stopping/transitting at their respective hubs. See below some carriers with European destinations:

MH via KUL    (Malaysian Airlines)
KLM via HKG (interline with CX on MNL/HKG leg)
EK via DXB    (Emirates)
QR via DOH    (Qatar)
BR/CI via TPE  (Eva Air and China Airlines)
KE/OZ via ICN  (Korean Air and Asiana)
TG via BKK      (Thai Airways)

Your nearest transit point from MNL in terms of flying time will be HKG. From HKG marami ka nang choices.
