When you buy at the shops ask them for the tax refund form. The store staff will have to fill that up for you then when you leave for home you have your goods inspected by the customs staff at the airport. Just ask for the tax refund counter, they can be located either at the departure or arrival area (depends on the aiport you're departing from). The customs officer will stamp the form then either you send it for refund back to your credit card or get cash back at the accredited banks at the airport.

^sis, tell your husband also to have the goods with him for inspection. SOP kasi na ininspect yung goods pero meron din naman di na hinahanap. Just in case have it on hand for inspection.

just got back from greece 

re tax refund, ours were chequed but the lady behind me didn't have her stuff with her (she's british) and spoke with the lady in the checking the receipts in greek and got away with it. better be safe than sorry na lang

^yeah, sometimes they don't inspect talaga. My detaxe in Paris last year walang tanung-tanong they just stamped my forms. I even offered to show them my purchase pero the customs officer just waved them away. Tinamad!   

But there are exemptions too. I know pag pina-ship mo your items the store or the freight company will give you a voucher to present to the customs officer for the detaxe. Since mismo the store or the forwarder na ang mag ship out, hindi talaga mabibitbit ng pasahero. This is usually done for big items na pang-cargo na ang sizes.

been living here in europe for almost 5 years na and taon taon ang plano namin ni hubby is to go to Venice, but somehow laging nasset aside ang venice for another destination.  This time wala na talagang atrasan to, booked the hotel and will book the flights na i'm so excited. 

so this year there will be 3 mini trips Prague (in June), Geneva (in August) and Venice (in September) yey!

For those who have been in these places, please give some recommendations.  Thanks!

Which airline should i take back to Manila from London? Anybody tried CX? Sa kanila kasi yung nakita ko shortest flight on my chosen day e. Any ideas?

^sis, if there's a will there's a way    if you want to make tipid pwede naman. You just have to know when is the cheapest time to go para promo yung airfare mo. Stay in apartments instead of hotels. If you and your hubby are less than 30yrs old you can stay in youth hostels. Tipong backpacker ang dating ninyo. I've done that before I got married, masaya!

anyone tried vacation/s.com? a friend told me her cousin went on a mediterranean cruise november last year and spent $1,300/person for the entire thing. nakamura kasi sa airfare eh. bale egypt, turkey, greece and spain ata napuntahan nila.

^^For cruises to Schengen states, you have to get visa from the embassy of your first port of entry. For the other countries not on Schengen, you have to get from the individual embassies concerned.

@wickedlovely - sis, when you contact them itanong mo na rin if they can apply your tax rebate. Since tourist ka qualified ka for the rebates but you have to show the goods sa customs upon your departure from the last EU state. But since you'll be sending them via BBbox hindi mo sya mapapakita for inspection di ba? Unless the BBbox company can give you a voucher to present to the customs officer showing na your purchase for rebates are being sent via freight/shipping.
