hello mga sis..buti naisipan ko buksan account ko sa gt. Last month a week before my period may nakapa akong bukol (oval shape) sa left breast ko. Nagpunta ko sa ob ko para ipa-check. Kinapa nya pero sabi nya very movable naman daw ang bukol....positive daw siya na benign at hormonal lang daw ang bukol sa breast ko. Sabi nya by October magpa sono-mammogram daw ako para sigurado pa din. Asked nya ako kung nagpa breastfeed ako..sabi ko sa panganay ko..oo (6years od na siya) pero sa bunso ko (1 1/2 years old) hindi na kasi after ko manganak i had postpartum preeclampsia kaya may mga meds ako to lower my bp na hanggang ngayon tine-take ko pa din. Nung nagpacheck up ako sa kanya around 2 cm daw laki ng bukol pero na-notice ko after mg mens ko lumiit siya talaga pero hindi siya nawala. Nalulungkot ako pero hindi ako natatakot..hindi ko din alam kung bakit. Hoping talaga ako na sana sa sono mammogram benign siya talaga. My aunt kasi have breast cancer...pinabayaan nya kasi natakot siya na magpa check up...marinig sasabihin ng doctor...nung lumala nya saka siya ngayon nagpapachemo. Kaya medyo paranoid din ako.

First of all, I would like to reiterate that breast and its diseases is usually under the turf of the surgeon and not the Ob gyn, anyway, better to get a breast ultrasound for peace of mind. Remember, not because there are mass on ultrasound its automatically cancer. The most common masses which are the solid and the water filled or cystic masses are still benign.

hello sis. Ako rin may mga breast mass. 5 sa kaliwa at 1 malaki sa kanan. Nurse ako. Sa takot ko pinatanggal ko agad ang bukol sa right breast ko. Alam ko kc na walang ibang treatment para dito kundi tanggalin lang. 6 months after ko nagpaopera, bumalik ang bukol sa right breast ko. 2.8 cm agad siya dahil pagkakasabi ng doctor ko peklat lamang ito. un pala tumubo ulit. nagkataon na may kasamahan kaming nurse na may breast cancer na nagpatanggal na breast. Just a reminder, not all breast masses are cancer, some are benign solid masses , others are benign cystic masses(water filled) these are the ones which can get smaller and eventually go away on its own even without any treatment done. Pls refrain from taking any supplement for breast masses, since these solid masses will never go away and it will always be there once you get it but can be monitored through breast ultrasound or mammogram .

Will this affect results?  I went for a session during menstruation and I got nodules to show in the ultrasound.  Turned out to be probably benign, but i read somewhere that after 6 months, hers turn up malignant. Got me scared for awhile there.

Its more of the discomfort thats why we refrain from doing the ultrasound if you are nearing your menstruation.

I came up probably benign with my result as well.  Should I decide to have biopsy and take out the nodules, can I have augmentation done narin para one time big time na?

Have you consulted your surgeon, better to have it checked, examine the pictures of your breast masses on ultrasound. If not needed then no surgery should be involved.

Hello po DocShe, salamat po sa pagreply. Yes, nagpaultrasound na po ako... Solid masses po ang nakalagay then nasa category na Birads 3 (probably benign). Nagpa-biopsy na din po ako kasi yun po sabi ng doctor sa pgh... Result is fibroepithelial lesion with fibrocystic changes.. Sabi po ng doctor, wala naman daw po problem and hindi naman daw po kailangan ipatanggal..pero check up pa din daw po every 3 months and kung lalaki daw po ang bukol, at nagwoworry ako, pwede naman daw po ipaalis. Ang hindi ko lang po natanong is, hindi po ba ito delikado or maging cancer kung hindi ko po ipapatanggal? Hindi din po kaya dumami pa itong mga bukol kung nandito lang sa breast?

Hi Doc, I found a small dimple under my left breast. As in maliit lang siya compared sa mga nakikita ko sa Google (I know, dapat tumigil ako. hehe) kaso worried padin ako kasi common sign daw ang ganito. Nag-self exam ako, no lumps naman. My left breast is mas droopy compared sa right ko. Factor din ba yun? Ano yung first step/s na kailangan kong gawin? And anong tests?

I?m 26 yrs old, single, no kids. Not sure lang if breast cancer runs in our family. Tatanong ko nalang din sa parents ko.

Best to get both mammogram and breast Ultrasound on the 7th to 10th day from your day 1 of menses.

Does he menstruation during ultrasound affect results?  Mine turned out probably benign last Oct 2017 and I'm thinking if i should wait till march before I consult a doctor again.

Hi Doc She. Yesterday i went to see a surgeon kasi lately sumasakit yung left breast ko, and may nakapa akong bukol. Pero sabi ng doctor wala naman daw yun. It?s. Fibrocystic lang daw. I?m 35 years old no history of breast cancer in the family. He said din na good sign daw yung sumasakit and with my age normal daw yun because of reproductive. He said it?s up to me kung gusto ko magpa ultrasound just to make sure. Kaya lang kasi i?m leaving na this saturday. Ilang days ba bago makuha ang result ng ultrasound? Thanks DoCShe.

Besides ultrasound, will MRI be more accurate for a certain age group like 35 and above?

I had an ultrasound when it was my 2nd day of period so hindi ba yun accurate? Parang tama naman( or wish ko lang)  my result was almost the same size of masses (one the left and one on the right) from 2yrs ago na nagpa ultrasound ako and mammo, im a patient of doc she at cardinal, hi pala doc she:)

I was 22 when I felt a small lump in my left breast. Parang buto ng santol yung size. That was 2011. I had excision biopsy in medical city pasig. Outpatient lang I think after 30 mins tapos na naka anaesthesia pa ko nun.

Honestly I dont know if its benign or malignant. Di ko na finollow up bec busy ako sa work. But this week I will send a request to the hospital to give me the result kasi im pregnant and Im hoping I can breastfeed.  Hoping its benign.
By the way after matanggal mabilis naman recovery ko and di ko na sya makapa ulit. Maganda din pagkakatahi sa gilid ng nipple hindi halata.

Actually the best modality for patient less than 40 years old is breast ultrasound and for patient 40 and above , its mammogram with breast ultrasound.

Hey there! Actually the discomfort and pain of the inflammation  of the breast during menstrual changes will be the a concern. Thats why we suggest 7-10 days from day 1 of menses to let the inflammation subside a little.
Also need to do Breast ultrasound and mammogram at least once a year.

Its important to follow up with your doctor after any procedure for the post operative care,,
Also, important to know the biopsy results especially in your case, pregnant.
