Buti na lang may thread about breast cancer dito sa GT and we have a doctor who answers our questions.

My MIL has breast cancer and naooperahan siya Feb 2010 to remove the lump. Pero di siya nagpa-chemotherapy tapos di na din siya nagpacheckup since then. I saw her last Thursday at sobrang payat na niya. Di na rin niya maigalaw yung left arm niya (sa left breast siya tinanggalan ng bukol) at di na siya makatayo at makalakad ng matagal.

Di kasi sanay magpa-doctor yung MIL ko kaya kahit anong sabi namin sa kanya na magpa-checkup dati, ayaw niya. Wala naman daw siyang nararamdamang di maganda. Kung may nararamdaman siyang di maganda, iniisip niya ubo o sipon lang. Now, I fear for her life.

DocShe, ano po kaya yung mga procedures/test na ipapagawa sa MIL ko? Di siya nagpa-chemo after her operation. Mga herbal supplements lang ata ang ininom niya.

We'll bring her sa PGH on Tuesday. Gusto ko mang dalin siya sa private hospital, we don't have enough funds. Wala din maitutulong financially yung mga kapatid at kamag-anak ng hubby ko. Kami lang yung matatakbuhan nila.

nag Annual physical exam kami kanina. nagpa breast exam ako. may nakapa na bukol na maliit yung doctor, wala pa naman daw 1cm. tinanong niya ako kung malapit na ako magkaron. sabi ko naggagamot ako ngayon para maregular ang cycle ko, ang tapos ng gamot ko ay sa 17. 3-10 days after nun dapat magkaron na ako. sabi niya  medyo malayo pa daw ako magkaron. natakot naman ako. ang sabi niya 1 week after ng last day ng mens ko pakapa ko ulit kung may bukol pa.

may kilala po ba kayong babae na surgeon na pwede sa fortunecare?

I'm not sure po sa stage, I think it's 3-B or C. Yes, she was advised pero di siya nagpa-chemo. Di na din siya nagpacheckup after the operation.

Ayaw na niyang magpadala sa hospital. May pumuntang doctor sa bahay nila last week, not sure if it's a cancer surgeon pero ang sabi may tubig na daw lungs ni MIL at the cancer has spread out. If ipapatanggal pa yung tubig, babalik din at mas mahihirapan lang daw siya kasi mahina na rin katawan niya. She's so thin now. The doctor just told the family to prepare for the worst.

Can a doctor make that conclusion without any test done?

Binigyan lang ng morphine si MIL, I assume it's for the pain at para makatulog siya ng maayos. Then pinalagyan din siya ng oxygen para di mahirapan huminga. Pero nasa bahay lang siya.

Kahit anong pilit ko, ayaw na talaga niya pumunta ng hospital. And parang ganun na din decision ng family nila pero di ko pa nakausap si [textspeak!] kasi nasa work. Di ko din alam if there's anything we can do pa kasi looking at MIL's condition, it's really bad.

Shinta- with fluids in the lungs, she may be in Stage 4 breast cancer. Best is to make her as comfortable as possible. With experiences of any doctors, we more or else can gauge the outcome of certain conditions that's why he said to expect for the worst. However, it's only God who can tell us what will happened .

Thanks DocShe. It is sad that there's nothing we can do about it and we leave it up to God's will na. I just hope she won't suffer much. She prefers to be at home. I think mas comfortable sya dun. And iniisip din niya siguro yung gagastusin pag nagpa-ospital pa siya.

Question lang po, if you have a family member or a relative who had cancer, does that mean mas predispose ka to have cancer? O talagang nasa environment and lifestyle ang cause ng cancer. Parang ang dami na kasing namamatay sa cancer.

docsha, how do you know if you have breast cancer na? In my case, i always have this lump that appear somewhere around my breast everytime i have mens. Is that a symptom of breast cancer? Ty

Bhabes- best to have it examine by a surgeon and with diagnostic exams correlation it may more or less give us an idea what kind of mass there is.

Doc She normal lang ba na sumasakit ang boobs after ng period? i know some friends na sumasakit yung boobs nila pero BEFORE daw ng period... mejo nagwoworry tuloy ako. Actually yung pain na nararamdaman ko is parang sensitive sya na parang konting mahawakan lang or maipit ng bra parang uncomfortable yung feeling, parang may masakit sa loob na hindi ko maintindihan. But not the same pain as thrush na may deep sharp shooting pain. Sinubukan kong kapain, pero wala naman ako ma feel na lump or hindi lang talaga ko marunong....

Pretty barbie- usually our breast are sensitive few days before, during and few days after our menstruation since our hormones are slowly getting to its normal range. Sometimes, cyst may also cause pain . Better to have it checked by a surgeon.

ano po ba mangyayari sa breastmilk na hindi na express?yung sa friend ko po kasi nag kwento na hindi siya nakapag breastfeed sa baby niya..

yung sa akin naman po medyo swollen siya..parang yung feeling bago ka magka period..di ganun ka sakit,kaya lang matagal pa bago ko magka period,saka hindi rin naman ako pregnant..di na ko nagpapa breastfeed 1 year na...normal lang po ba na minsan ganun yung feeling ng breasts mo,swollen siya kaunti?pag kinakapa ko yung breasts ko sa c.r,may sabon yung kamay ko(yun kasi turo ng teacher ko nung highschool),parang may nahahawakan ako,yun yata yung saggy na laman ng breasts ko after ng 1st pregnancy ko,hindi naman siya koteng  bukol pero alam ko na matigas konti,parang laman lang..normal lang po ba na ganun na yung breats ko kasi nga sagg na rin sya after ko mag buntis? thanks!
