Hi!actually once you have the Mammo or ultrasound the surgeon will have to examine you further and check the characteristics of the mass. Remember, not all breast masses need to be excised or removed unless the mass is has suspicious features.

jabe, try big hospitals with breast centers like medical city and st lukes... try to look sa websites nila.

October was when i started feeling sharp pains on both breasts, mas pronounced pag 2weeks before my mens. I did self-exam and am sure na may nakakapa ako. So I went to a surgeon a week after the first day ng mens ko last November. I was advised to have an ultrasound and since Saturday yun, I went back for the result the following Saturday na kasi I can't miss work on weekdays. True enough, I have lumps, according to the results, I have 4 complex nodules on the left breast and 3 on the right. I was on the verge of crying while i was talking to my doctor, He explained that while I have multiple cysts, masyado naman maliit and the edges are smooth daw and may fluid. May nakalagay na BIRADs 3 and he just recommended that I go back after 6mos. I am not convinced so I took the ultrasound results to another surgeon at Saint Lukes QC. This time I am bent on looking for a breast surgeon to check on me. I was so relieved when the findings and explanation turned out the same. The doctor examined my breasts and he did not find anything to be worried about. He told me to be back after 6mos to have another ultrasound. But i insisted that i will be back after 3mos for my peace of mind. I don't mind going back every 3mos so that I am sure that those lumps are closely monitored. I have a family to take care of and right now we are not ready emotionally and financially if ever this progresses to something worse. Right now I am taking wheatgrass juice every night and I also took barley juice as a step on eating healthier.

It's important for us to do self-exam every month because we're the only ones who can tell if there's something wrong. Don't be afraid of going to the doctor and doing tests because early detection will save our lives.

Hi Doc,

My sister was complaining of her breast lump since Nov 2010. She had a checkup and doctor said that its like fibroid. Now, just today she had a biopsy and was diagnosed with carcinoma and still waiting for further exams. She's in dubai and it's hard kasi I don't know how to deal with it given na she's not here and don't know how can I help her. We don't have any history of such so I was still in shock and nobody from our family knows this yet, maybe until she completed series of tests. Now I don't know what to think, what to expect, and what's the best treatment for her. We're just hoping that diagnosis is wrong and she was thinking of taking Transfer Factor supplements.

May I ask for any advise on this. TIA!

hi doc she, last 2008 i had an ultrasound with dra lisa mercado, you recommended her, she was good:) yesterday i had an ultrasound and the doctor found cyst measuring 0.9x0.3 on my right breast, i was trying to find my 2008 record but i lost it already so i don't know if lumaki ba.

Hi Docshe! Is it normal to have one breast a little bigger than the other? I just noticed that my right breast is a little bigger than the left one. Is it a cause for alarm? Thank you.

Damselindistress17- yes, it's common to have slight differences in our breast sizes. Don't worry! Just make sure you don't palpate any masses which may also cause the discrepancy.

Docshe, the problem po kasi is may parang hard something dun sa upper right side ng left breast ko. I don't know if it's a lump or mass po. I had the mass/lump on my left breast since 2009. Since then, I already visited two ob-gynes and a surgeon. They all said the same thing: it was nothing that I should be worried about. But then again, they did not require me to undergo breast ultrasound. BTW, I'm 22 now. Kahapon po, I noticed that my left breast is getting smaller than the right one. Could it be a sign of breast cancer? BTW, I'm also on Althea pills din po for three months now. Could it be another reason? I've been on and off the pills since 2010.

Damselindistress17- I would suggest you get a breast ultrasound for peace of mind then have it checked by a Surgeon. Best time to have it done is 7-10 days from day 1 of menses.

would you know kung san meron digital mammography? and ask ko na din po kung san ang clinic ninyo? thanks in advance

Good evening po DocShe. Yesterday na diagnose po ang aunt ko ni Dr. Elicano with stage 3 breast cancer. Chemotherapy po agad ang pinapagawa. 2years na daw po yung cancer. Takot po kasi magpatingin ang aunt ko. Ang alam ko she took herbal supplements lang. Nakakalungkot kasi sana noon pa napgpatingin na sya sa doktor. Di sana lumala. I just want to ask po kung may ma-recommend po kayo hospital kung saan mura ang chemo. Kasi wala po sila gaano kinabubuhay. Salamat po.

good day po docshe ask ko lang po if magkano ang pa biopsy..and removal ng bukol if ever..nakapa ko po kasi [textspeak!] bukol sa left breast ko nung oct last yr..since po nun araw araw ko naiisip un..natakot din  ako kaya di pa ako nakakapag pa check up....gumagalaw po [textspeak!] bukol ko..at palagi ko na rin po iniiwas ang  boobs ko na tamaan ng kahit na anong bagay..feeling ko kasi masakit pag naiisip ko or napaparanoid lang ako..im 24 yrs old po..ang sabi di pa daw po ao pwede sa mammo...  wait ko po sagot nyo....

Cats- better to have it check first and assess if you really need surgery or just observation. Remember, not all breast masses needs operation. Have it checked by a surgeon for peace of mind!

Iron lady- you are absolutely right. Best time to examine and do any diagnostic test is 7 to 10 days from day 1 of menses. Yes I am Intellicare accredited.

Hi doc, will it make a big difference na po ba kung on the 17 or 18th day na maexamine at maultrasound?

Massive- not much difference really. However if it's nearing your next cycle then there will before discomfort during examination.
