yes why not.. if me budget naman.. and daughter would surely love that.. kaso hindi keri ng powers namin.. sabi ko pag masteral na lang or post graduate.. sipagan na lang nya mag aral ngayon (she's chem eng freshman in adamson ) para maganda makuha nya work then possible na makapag aral sha abroad

definitely yes  although toddler pa lang anak namin & the 2nd is coming soon..this early sinasabi ko na kay hubby that I want to send them to study abroad pero for post grad studies. We can send them to China every summer to refresh the chinese culture.

Yes, I think that having to study abroad is the way for them to be at par with the likes of Mark Zuckeberg and Steve Jobs. Besides, nakikilala na din naman ang mga Pinoy internationally.

We just moved in here in Philippines and  we compared the quality of education here... And we found out that we Philippine education are too late in these particular subject, Math English and Science....

My kids are in grade school, we want them to be exposed in our Pilipino culture and be Street Wise smart,but a little bit dis appointed they are too stressed out .. since they  have to study from 7:30AM to 4:30pm...

But then and again depends on the kid , even if they study here or abroad kung tamad naman useless din.....

of course every parents wants their child to study abroad!

for me, opinyon ko lang, di porket you studied abroad eh mas magaling kana sa iba.academically yes pero still you cannot buy diskarte and abilidad. atsaka i dont think that the childs future would depend on his imported education

you can travel to experience what other countries can offer. theres also internet to know more about other country or people.

of course its different if you migrated

Dahil sa totoo lang, ang ating educational system dito sa Pilipinas ay very academically-centered.  Puro na lang test, academics, pagiging grade conscious ang kinagisnan ng mga bata sa eskwelahan.  Ibang-iba ang turo sa mga international schools like ISM, BIS, Brent and same with other IS schools abroad.  I know this because my kids attend IS school here in Jakarta kung saan kami nakatira na ng matagal. 

Students in IS are taught how to be  global citizens kaya ang lawak ng kanilang pananaw.  They are taught how to be self-directed, how to take responsibility for their actions, how to think for themselves and how to express themselves properly bearing in mind pertinent cultural and religious sensitivities around them.  They don't look at your race, creed or religion but they see people for what they are beyond the color of their skin or their social status.  Di lang puro academics, they are also encouraged to partake in sports (it's a big deal to make it to a school varsity team) because sports teach one how to be a team player, how to be a man (or a woman) in victory or defeat.  They are also taught how to take care of their environment, they travel abroad often (w/o the parents) for school competitions be it sports, conference, school trips,  music fest, etc thus, they learn independence early on.  In High School, they have to take up IB courses to prepare them for college placement.  By the time these kids graduate, mga 17 or 18 years old na sila.  Mature enough to be able to survive on their own abroad as a college freshman...

Sana ganun din ang ating education system.  Di lang puro academics ang focus.  After all, those who really succeed in life are those who are street smart, madiskarte sa buhay, their feet firmly planted on the ground because they are well-adjusted individuals who know how to make use of their time and talents to contribute positively to society. 

And yes, your child will benefit greatly in terms of personal growth and maturity if he/she is sent to another country where he will experience new cultures and traditions and different ways of thinking, learning and self-expression. And when he/she returns back home, he/she will use all that he/she has learned to improve her countrymen's plight.

 That to me, is the prime reason to pursue higher education abroad

actually, my hubby and I have discussed this and we decided it would be good for our daughter to spend 3-6 months in France or Switzerland when she reaches HS. First, I want her to be independent. Her Dad and I won't be around forever and we both want to prepare her to be able to stand on her own. Second, they get additional points in their ATAR if they study and pass another language other than English. Her future HS has French in their curriculum so this is what she needs to be proficient in to have a high enough ATAR to get into her chosen degree.

ATAR nga pala is the criteria for entry in University. For example, Engineering degree's ATAR cut off is 80. If you meet the prereqs, and ATAR is 80 and above, you're in.

but study Uni overseas? No, what for? Australia provides quality education so I don't see the point

then again, we'll support her naman if she wants to go to Uni overseas...

^i agree sis gumdrops. my 6 y/o son who's in prep has started learning French na rin. it's good to start them this early since mas madali nilang maabsorb. He still knows how to converse in filipino, then english sa school.

Yep. Either Japan or Finland. I find their education system excellent.

We do not have kids yet and we are living overseas. My husband and I are proud to be products of a State University in the Philippines. Naisip ko na din yan, if we kids in the future. Gradeschool and Highschool, no. College, kung may opportunity sila to go to Ivy league schools, why not? Personally, I wont just send my kids overseas just for the sake of studying overseas. Sana tipong top 50 ng QS World University Ranking. Hehe. Or Julliards, mga ganun. Hehe. Or basta a University that has a good facility ng gusto nyang course. If it is just some college in the US or Europe, then I'll let the kids stay na lang with us here. And it also depends, kung hindi naman pala gusto ng bata, hindi pipilitin syempre.
