Milkyway cafe has always been a favorite of our family, para ngang canteen ito ng dad ko kasi malapit sa office niya and pag buntis yung sister ko sa pagkain nila siya madalas naglilihi. Our previous parties we would normally get a venue and caterer separate, but this time with all the bagyo and flash floods we decided that it's best for us to book a venue na covered talaga and airconditioned. And buti na lang kasi around lunch time bigla na lang dumilim and umulan ng malakas ng mga 20 minutes. And we were very thankful that we booked a restaurant venue for the party, that way assured kami na dry and safe ang set up namin and ofcourse yung guests namin. The party was set for 4pm, and because of the rains some of our guests medyo na-late, but we were able to start 5pm, so nag-extend na lang kami ng 1 hour sa venue, which is 5,000 na consumable naman.
The food is tama lang ... we had assorted sandwiches, assorted pizza, spaghetti bolognese, bbq, and chicken lollipop, and ice cream buffet and bottomless iced tea. It's your typical kiddie party menu. Same lang ang food for both adults and kids. Exacto lang ang food, lahat nakakain naman, but for me hindi talaga super laki ng serving size nila. May 1 table kami na hindi occupied and some tables hindi naman puno, and yet parang exacto lang yung food na nasa buffet. Or baka gutom lang din talaga mga bisita namin at 5pm na din kasi kumain. Nasarapan ako sa food except for the spaghetti, medyo kulang sa sauce.
Our stage backdrop and ceiling decor and entrance arch were made by Party Boosters. Second time na namin to get Jacque, and because very hassle free siya ka-deal and we trust her creativity, my sister booked her again. The backdrop was made of flowing ribbons, pompoms, cloth buntings, and pinwheels. She used japanese lanterns, pompoms, cloth buntings, and balloons for the ceiling naman.
The decors were very festive and girly ... ang saya-saya namin when we saw the set up. Her rates are very reasonable considering that hindi puro balloons ang decor.
Our emcee was Darwin the magician ... ok siya ... straight english, good diction (though sometimes lumalabas yung twang niya, and I think he probably lived overseas for some time kasi he mentioned that he's a member of canadian magician something) he kept both the adults and kids entertained, walang pangit or hindi age appropriate na jokes, and fun yung program he prepared. Yung games niya he made sure that all the kids, even the shy ones, are involved. Even the parents and adult guests he was able to make them join the games he prepared. Overall he did a great job. And for his rate, worth yung service that he provided. The sound system was c/o of Darwin also. Tama lang yung lakas ng sound system for the venue. the oldies who were at the far end of the function room were still able to hear clearly the program pero hindi super lakas ng speakers. I hate this kasi sa events na super lakas ng sound system na hindi na kayo pwedeng mag-usap ng katabi mo.
Cake was by Sugar Mom, my sister booked her through her officemate. The cake was really cute, nakuha yung peg na binigay ng sister ko, and masarap din yung cake and cake pops
I think siya na ang magiging suki namin sa cakes, kasi lumabas ng mas mura yung kinuha namin sa kanya than our previous cake supplier and hindi naman kami na-disaapoint sa final product and service niya

From Tweedledee we got the rest of the party items and details. Initially the theme of the party was supposed to be cute as a button, pero Tweedledee suggested yung Polkadots and pinwheels, and with the initial mood board they presented we decided to go with polkadots and pinwheels.
Invitations, TY Tags, Registration table signage, gift table signage, food labels, and napkin band were all provided by tweedledee. Maganda yung design, ok din naman yung printing. Their printed details contributed a lot to the overall look of the party.
I mentioned kanina na they probably made more than a thousand pinwheels for our party, kasi the table numbers were placed in pinwheels, the thank you tags had pinwheels, adult souvenirs may pinwheels din, accents in tables were pinwheels ... and this complemented the decors of party boosters.
Kiddie souvenirs were stools, lootbags contained healthy snacks and some candies with bubbles and balls, adult souvenirs were foldable fans. We set up an Arts and Crafts station, i just ordered the kits from them hindi na kasama yung set up. We ordered the kits kasi wala naman kami activity for the kids like face painting or salon. So buti lang na may ginagawa ang kids while waiting for the start of the program. The kids loved the make your own pinwheel set. Pansin ko na kids 5 years old and up ang nag-enjoy sa station na ito. Eh the older kids pa naman yung medyo mahirap i-entertain and please kasi nga malalaki na sila. the art kits ang mabenta sa kanila
Kaya for mommies na naghahanap ng alternative na activity booth you may consider setting up an art station. They provided door prizes for the kids din pala, when they register the little girls got polkadots na headbands, the boys naman whistles
Our table set up was c/o tweedledee also. Each guest table was provided with a 3 layered cupcake tower with 10 cupcakes and 10 cups of popcorn and lollipops, pinwheel table number, and pompoms. Initially dapat sa tower din nakalagay yung popcorn cups kaso masikip na masyado pag doon din linagay, kaya linagay na lang yung popcorn cups sa may place setting ng bawat guest, together with their polkadots na pink and white na napkin, napkin band, and pinwheel with candy. Initially normal table centerpiece lang na balloon dapat, but since my sister didn't want to have a candy buffet anymore kasi sisikip lang yung venue, they suggested that we make the centerpieces edible treats na lang. And we're glad we agreed to their suggestion kasi the guests loved the idea of having the treats on their tables already, and at least sigurado na all the guests got their fair share of the sweets, kasi in our previous parties hindi maiiwasan na may mga bata and matanda na sobra-sobra makakuha at take home
For the game prizes, they set up the table and linatag yung prizes doon, they placed price tags on the prizes, kasi the kids were given play money as game prizes then afterwards they exchanged their money with prizes. The kids loved the concept of shopping for toys and candies. Even the mommies and yayas enjoyed budgeting their kids' money. it was nice seeing the kids excited sa games kasi they need to win more money for the toys that they want
if you think about it this store concept for the prizes teaches kids how to work hard (join and win in the games) for the things that they want, they learn how to budget, and they are able to apply simple math
The 2 coordinators assigned to us on the event day were very efficient. We were told that tweedledee coordinators are wedding coordinators din talaga. Before they started doing kiddie parties, weddings talaga ang ginagawa nila. I appreciated that when they did the headcount naka-separate ang count ng kids, yaya, and adults. Kasi they noted that Milky Way's rates for kids and yayas are different than the adult rates. And this small detail that they did for us I truly appreciate. I know kasi na kung iba yan, they will not even bother to do the head count anymore. They ushered our guests to empty tables, free seating kasi kami. They gave out the name tags, and assisted the guests to the gift table. They encouraged the kids to visit the art station, kahit na I didn't get the full set up of the arts and crafts anymore, still they assisted the kids, and even showed them how to use some of the kits. They manned the prize table/store, they made sure that the guests signed the scrapbook we bought for the messages, they distributed the adult giveaways, and made sure that all suppliers ate
They made the party hassle free for us. We were able to enjoy the company of our guests kasi I knew that they were on top of things. I told my sister for my niece's pre-school party we'll get the details and lootbags and souvenirs from them na din.
Overall it was a great party. We went a little over our budget, but seeing how happy my nieces are, and after hearing how our guests enjoyed the party, it was money well spent
