My daughter had her 4th Birthday Party last Sunday at Mc Donald's C5 Metropoli Libis. Initially, we planned to do a school party but since my mother in law was here she wanted Sofia to have a big party. Too bad though my mum-in-law had to leave a 2 months before the party.
Food/Venue: Mc Donald's C-5 Metropoli Libis - 5/5
The party manager, Len, was so accommodating to my every whims and indecisiveness. We booked the place last April initially for the morning of July 30. Late June, my daughter's school scheduled their family day on the same day so we didnt have any choice but to move it to July 31. The only available slot was sandwiched between 2 parties. We didnt have any choice but to get the slot.
A week before July 31, my paternal lola's (who was in the hospital since mid July) condition became critical and the doctor told us to get ready as she can go anytime. My husband and i thought that this is not the right time to have a celebration so I called Len that I will cancel the party and move it to November for my son's 1st birthday. My daughter was devastated when we told her that we're canceling her party and instead she'll have a small school party (she cried the whole afternoon and didnt want to eat dinner). I talked to my dad and he gave me the go signal to push thru whatever happens. So I called Len back just to find out someone already got our slot. Take note this is just a matter of 3-4hours ha. I told her baka puwedeng mapakiusapan. I even told her na tell the other client she'll only have a week to prepare so baka she can just give our slot back. Len did everything to ensure we get our slot back! Thank God!
My other concern was there was a party before us. Mcdo did a good job ensuring that we get to start our preps at exactly 1pm.
Cake: Box of Sweets - 4.5/5
Box of Sweets is really value for money The design is nice. Though I was expecting to have Disney Princess toppers. She informed me only days before that her supplier cannot make daw such topper. So that's 0.5 pt minus for her. It was also so hard to get hold of her initially (-0.5pt).
BUT I'm giving +0.5pt cause supposedly a week before the party I should be able to make a DP. Kaso nga with what happened to my lola di ko na naasikaso. She even said that I can make the full payment on the day itself. Nahiya naman ako. So the moment I got a chance I paid her in full.
Kiddie Salon: Yummy Mummy Cupcake - 3.5/5
At Php2.5k it is value for money for someone who has a limited party time.
-1pt: They require full payment before the event. I know this is part of their Terms and Condition but I find it a little unreasonable. Para bang as a client you're not protected in case di sila sumipot. Friday before the party they were asking me to pay the balance. I told them that I was still at the funeral of my lola and I don't think I'll be able to make it before BPI closes. Though I didnt tell them directly, I was hinting if I can pay the balance at the event. I guess they didnt get or refuse to listen to my pahaging. We didnt have any choice but to leave the funeral early to make it to the nearest BPI that closes at 4pm.
-0.5 pt: They came in LATE. They started setting up at around 1:30pm. The day before the party, I received a call from them informing me that they can only set up 30 mins before the party. Sabi nila they came daw at around 1pm but were told by someone from Mcdo that they cannot setup yet. Which I find weird for me cause we were there before 1pm and we were allowed to setup exactly at 1pm. They should have called me and I could have informed Len. Eto pa they ended up staying at the owner's partner's house which is only 10 minutes away. They could have just waited at Mcdo kasi the round trip din is 20 minutes total.
-0.5pt: Two of the bulbs were busted.
+0.5pt: They didnt charge me for the extra stylist.
Balloons Hula Balloons (4ft Balloon Pillar) 5/5- Since our party was only 1.5hrs, I didnt want to spend too much on balloons. Though one thing for sure, I want to have a balloon burst. I ordered it from Hula Balloons. However I found out days before the party, I wont be able to hang the balloon burst from the ceiling since Mc Donald's Metropoli only allows their accredited supplier to hang from the ceiling. The owner of Hula Balloons was kind enough to convert my order into a pillar
F Colors Balloons (Cake Arch, Balloon Burst, Hanging Balloons) 5/5- initially i didnt want to get to get pricey balloon setup since the party was only for 1.5hrs. But after learning i cannot attached the balloon burst to the ceiling i ordered from Hula Balloons, I contacted them a few days beofre the party. Macky, the owner, was able to give me a good package for Php2.8k. Sulit na din. He didnt require any DP and said I can just make the payment on the day of the event upon learning I am tied up with the wake of my lola.

We gave Sofia Play Money as prizes. Then after the party they bought toys from the Toy Store using the money. Medyo di na lang na-manage ng maayos yung Toy Store since: a) we're pressed for time and b) daagsaan ang kids. Good thing there were more than enough toys for the kids since not all the invited guests were able to make it bec of the rain.
