Welcome to the MMU thread our dearest Oldies, Newbies, Rehab-ers , No buy-ers and Guests. Please be mindful of some simple house rules we have here in our thread

2. BACKREADING- this is an important thing to do in this thread. Companies crop up fast, so your best bet to keep up with them is to backread. Knowledge is power, you can gain some ideas with what’s what with every brand if you just backread. If you find that you cannot find any information on that brand even with backreading, please use the SEARCH or PM function. Before posting a question, please make sure you have BACKREAD or SEARCH for it first, and the topic has not been addressed just recently. If you cannot find any info here, you may want to use your search engine such as Google or Yahoo to find what you want to know.

How can I order/How can i try mineral makeup? I am very interested.
Answer: you can try by sampling, via ordering online or visiting stores which distribute or sell mineral makeup.
1. Visit a brick and mortar store:
Beauty Bar-brands like YoungBlood, Philosophy, and Allison Rafaeal.
Watson's-brands like L'oreal MMU and Sheer Cover.
House Brands- TheNaturalSource
Inquire around for bazaars for events in which plenty of mineral makeup e-tailer participate in.
2. Online
Local:
thru Multiply- please NO posting of multiply sites, you can PM people for info. Plenty of local e-tailers operate through multiply. To find them, please go to the beauty bazaar, retailers post there or you can use the search engine.

How will I pay?
Answer: If you are local, you can pay via Gcash or bank deposits. These 2 are the usual modes of payment, but not always. You HAVE to check with your seller for her/his terms and conditions. Of course, if you are buying at a mall, cash or card. If you are planning on buying online and abroad, ready your credit card and or paypal.
What are the usual shipping and handling costs and waiting time?
Answer: Actually, there is no standard for this. You have to read for yourself the policies of your seller or the store.
Based from what I encountered
1. For local: Usually, sellers use Xend, Air21, 2go or LBC. Again, it depends on your seller, but from what I could tell, it depends on the weight of your package and the destination. You have to clarify with your seller. Could be anywhere from 50pesos to hundreds of pesos. Some offer meet ups.
2. For online and abroad:

Variable shipping cost and turn around time- you have to make your ghost cart and to check the site yourself for every company have their own sets of policies, and by placing orders, you DO agree on their policies.
First class mail or FCM- cheapest, could be anything from $2 to 21 and above. This is usually based on weight. This has no tracking whatsoever. Waiting time could be anything from 1 week to months.
Priority mail international or PMI- Still no tracking. Usually, arrives faster than First class mail. Waiting time is less than a month. Tagged as flat rate envelope, it can hold up to anything with weight of 4 pounds. Costs around $11 to 15.
Express Mail: costs around $25 and above. This has tracking and is guaranteed. Arrives within a specific time period.
What about discounts/sale/promo codes?
ANSWER: Usually, when there are sales/codes/discounts, members post the details in the thread. Best way to know when there will be a sale is to sign up in a newsletter or notification group.
Are there any limit in my purchases?
Answer: Each company has their own policies. You have to check with them. Some companies impose a 2-samples-per color-policy. Some impose a 1-sample-per color policy. Other companies have no limit for purchases.
How about custom charge or taxes?
Answer: Please do give your post office a call and inquire their policy. Some DO impose tax on merchandises that are $50 above, whereas some do not have limits. Some tax items if it is suspiciously for commercial purpose. Some companies do mark their merchandises as gifts or lower the value to help ease custom charges, but this practice is illegal and could mean trouble for the company.
I have been scammed/fooled/seller refuses to refund my money/reship, what will I do?
Answer: When your package has not yet arrive or appears to be lost, you have to contact your seller. Please make sure you have given ample time for the package to arrive. It will be at the seller’s discretion if he or she will replace/refund. It would likely have a more positive outcome if you explain yourself diplomatically. Note that not all sellers refund or reship, thus it will be at your discretion to insure or have them shipped in the guaranteed way. File your dispute with Paypal. You have only 45 days to file your dispute. Or call your credit card company. Try settling your transactions amicably and if it cannot be resolved, use dispute as last resort. If you have paid with Gcash or bank deposit, hold on to your receipt, and file necessary actions.
I do not want to sample anymore..I am too tired to back read..any reviews?
Answer: By sampling, you can make sure that you HAVE the perfect match. Sampling is fun, albeit it can get expensive, so it is wise to read the pages and note for yourself which shades suit you. BACKREADING is the key. It will help you tremendously. Of course, reading about the raves and rants of posters can give you idea which is which. In the end, it will be for you to decide which you want to try, these are merely reviews and pointers to help ease you in the correct direction. Some e-tailers give private consultation, just send them a picture of yourself standing in natural sunlight. Feel free to post questions/recommendations, but firstly, please do your part in backreading.
Okay, so now I am using MMU, what applicators should I use?
Answer: With MMU, the best way to apply them is to use either makeup brushes or flocked sponge. These are also frequently available at mineral makeup sites or free standing stores at the mall.
