but yes i think what you said sums it up.. money is just an indicator kasi. Bottom line is character. Hindi ko feel yung mala Gretchen Barretto na life -- she may have all the luxuries she wanted, but seems like a very empty life... unless may "love" talaga sila. But i remember kasi dati (like when this was fresh) na she admitted naman she wanted a better life kaya sya na-attract kay Tony Boy. Oh well.

not really. i mean, i wouldn't really know about a person's finances until we're in a relationship. i live in the US so stuff like nice cars or designer stuff don't really paint the entire picture, if you know what i mean. i know people with nice things but are not doing so well. the attraction for me would be their passion for what they do and if they have the makings of a decent provider.

a self-made man. yes.  hindi yung minana lang sa magulang.  it shows how industrious, responsible and hard working he is.

Update after 6+ years:  while a self-made man is impressive, it is not a full reflection of his character. Responsible and hardworking nga pero walang respeto sayo, controlling and power tripping all the time dahil sa limpak limpak na yaman kaya he feels he?s above everyone or the law... suddenly thats not attractive at all. Sa una lang impressive, demonyo pala underneath the impeccable appearance, numerous properties and fancy cars.

Yes, as long as the money comes from all his hardwork and hindi nanggaling sa parents. But personality, character and those with ambition matters too,
