the short answer: YES
the long answer: NO
In pre-civilization, us women desired the strongest, most muscular, and toughest men in the tribe -- thephysical qualities. We wanted men who can provide and protect. Physical strength meant these men can hunt for food and defend us from other tribes.
As society has evolved, our needs have also evolved. We are no longer 'hunters and gatherers.' Rather, our survival of the fittest as defined today is based on intelligence. We are in a brainy, nerdist, culture hence men like Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates -- the nerds -- are the ones who are successful, and thus, appealing to most women.
However, we humans are complex beings. It's not as simple as plain money versus personality. When we meet a person for the first time, we do not know anything about them at all. We simply judge by appearances. A man who is dressed well, carries himself elegantly with good manners and speaks eloquently would strike me as a successful man (with money). So yes, I am attracted to that, after all, I do not want a man who will become a financial burden to me. However, to me that is not enough, nor is it a deal breaker (in reverse). He might have all the money in the world but if he's got no personality, I'd be calling it quits very quickly. Manners, values, principles and a good heart -- these are more important to me than money.
In reverse, if I have known a guy long term and I love his personality, but somehow he is CURRENTLY broke, I'd still go for this guy. This is true when you meet someone in college or at work and you somehow get to know each other as you 'grow' with the person... Syempre if I know a guy and I know masipag sya, hardworking, I can see that he will try to help me achieve our financial goals as a future couple -- then I know I can bet my future with him. Even if it fails, he has the best personality that fits mine, and I'll be happy. That's because I have had the privilege of KNOWING him already and becoming attracted to more elements about him than meets the eye.
TL; DR; I won't be attracted to a RICH bum with no personality (trust fund baby) but I won't mind a simple joe with ambitions. I won't discount either one of them too -- a man born to wealth and does not have to work hard is, but has a very good heart is just as good as hardworking simple joe with a good heart.
