Re: cooking, I remembered I bought a cooked ulam before and yun ang pinakain ko.. sarap na sarap siya.. di naman niya tinanong kung ako ang nagluto eh. Hahaha!

Anyway, it was his birthday kaya gumawa ako ng video about him. Since I'm a photography hobbyist and marunong din magphotoshop, nag-edit ako ng pictures ng famous fave people nya tapos nilagay ko mukha niya (yun yung pang-comedy part).. then yun serious part, I defined in the video what kind of person he is (all his positive traits lang siyempre), with his pictures on it.. then I asked our friends to greet him na siyempre nilagay ko din sa video na yun. Nang mapanuod niya, naspeechless talaga siya at naluha (nasa skype kami ng pinapanuod ko sa kanya kaya kitang kita ko mga react niya as in napapa-"awww" pa siya).. sabi niya greatest gift daw yun na natanggap niya.. that he will forever cherish it daw. Days passed.. he raves about it pa rin. As in he watches it daw everyday at paulit-ulit. Kakatuwa lang. Nasulit hirap ko.. piniga ko talaga creativity ko dun eh (hirap kasi siya regaluhan since LDR kami). Naalala ko tuloy yun nabasa ko dito sa GT na post ng isang guy na hindi trip ng guys ang ganung klaseng gift.. well, I'd say, aralin nyo na lang muna kung anong nakakakabog sa puso ng loves ninyo kasi hindi talaga sila pare-pareho.

pero sa anniversary namin parang nagdadalwang isip ako isurprise siya, napapansin ko kasi
parang ako nalang palagi gumagawa ng effort para sa kanya. Hindi naman sa nanunumbat ako
pero naghahanap din naman ako ng surprises from him. Siyempre babae padin ako!. hehe pero parang hindi siya mahilig sa ganun.

hi, im an active member of this thread for years, i've done some of the ideas and i shared mine too. and I Feel you sis, pareho tayo ng naramdaman, sa lahat ng naging bf ko, mahilig akong gumawa ng mga ganitong bagay. and with my boyfriend now, ganun din ako, kasi nahinto ko na.. 7 months na ata akong walang ginagawa for him, and walang binibigay or binibili aside from food treats. kasi nawalan na ako ng gana.. :-)

^ i can relate di naman sa nanunumbat pero d naman dapat tayo lang nagawa ng effort, dapat both parties d ba.. kaso baka maging boring na ang relationship pag pati tayo di na mag effort, imo. i plan to talk to my bf about that..

kami naman wala na iyong bigayan ng kung ano-ano tulad dati. pero we celebrate monthsary pa din, walang humapay! gala at kain lang. o kaya naman tambay sa bahay nila or bahay namin. basta lang magkasama kami. pero syempre hindi pa din nawawala ang suprises.

as part of my anniversary gift combo for him, i made about 20 scratch-off tickets he'll pick his prizes from. out of that 20, there were five with "prizes" (since we were celebrating our fifth year together).

the prizes included 100 kisses, baking goodies for him, postponing my haircut appointment to weeks after his birthday (he's always begging me not to cut my hair, but that's the best i can do), dinner on me and a whole day from my vacation leaves spent with him (excluding special occasions; he knows how much i hate using up my VLs in case i need them for a trip). the rest of the tickets says "Hug".

well, he picked out four out of the five prizes. and he enjoyed the thrill of finding out what's behind the scratched surface.

he gave me 5 ferrero and at the bottom of it contains letters which is "I <3 U EJ" (EJ is my nickname)
the each letter contains sweet notes from him.
nakakatawa lang how he gave this to me.
the preparation? dapat daw isang heart na ferrero yun but since hindi sya makatakas sakin at malalagot sya, he went to 711 instead to buy nalang. then when he gave it to me, he wait for me to be away in sametime (nasa office kami) since yung CR namin nasa labas, wait niya ko don papasok na sana ako ng door nung tinawag niya ko then he gave it to me na nakabalot sa tissue paper

will start the day by every one of our close friend will give something to him with no definite time atleast 10 things pero syempre wala ako dun kaya kailangan madala ko yung mga things sa bahay ng friend namin prior on our monthsary tpos yung place ng friend namin arrange ko with decors tas kunyari invite sya ni friend ng inuman or something tas surprise sya kasi andun na ko with a small cake greeting him a happy monthsary

@shyreen: i don't know if may nabibiling ready-to-use, but i just made my own. mahilig kasi talaga ako mag-crafts so nagagamit ko rin sa gifts ko

what i did was print out the prizes on cardboard paper and cut them into stubs or tickets. then i stuck squares of contact paper (parang clear na sticker or sticky na acetate, meron nito sa national bookstore) on the tickets, enough to cover the print. then i just smudged acrylic paint over it until hindi na mabasa nakasulat underneath. medyo matagal ito gawin kasi you have to wait for layer after layer of acrylic paint to dry. and i suggest you make this within the day of giving it to your boyfriends kasi yung sakin i made weeks before our anniversary pa (i was experimenting pa kasi so i wanted to make sure successful kaya maaga ko ginawa). masyadong matagal nang nakasalang sa akin so super tumigas and kumunat yata nung acrylic paint, nahirapan kami i-scratch yung surface. pero when i was still experimenting and i tried scratching the surface a little while after nagdry na yung paint, para syang totoo! haha. also, i didn't use silver acrylic paint na, pero if you want to make it really authentic, i heard you can get that in the bookstore din.

Yup! Pinicturean pa niya at nipost sa profile nya sa FB. Kakatuwa ang naging react nya, I was so nervous pa naman na baka di niya magustuhan.

sis ang sweet naman ng bf mo. sana ganyan rin asawa ko, na may letter/note pa.  anyway, yung asawa ko, alam nya mga food na gusto ko. and talagang nag eeffort sya kasi syempre, bumabawi. so last time pagkagaling ko work, alam nyang gutom ako lagi. sabi nya may arroz caldo daw sya for me, tamang tama. pinapasakay ako! biglang bawi, sabi wala daw, niloloko lang daw ako. ngek.... pero pag-uwi namin, biglang meron pala talaga. plus, may pandecoco pa na pagkasarap sarap! ang hirap kaya makahanap ng masarap na tinapay dito, pati mga filipino food mahirap rin mahanap. applicable rin pala sa babae yung saying a way to a  ;Dman's heart is through his stomach. hehe.

For my then BF's 27th birthday, I surprised him with 27 cupcakes (each with a candle) at our pantry and our closest friends at work were there singing him a happy birthday and we ate the cupcakes for dessert, plus I arranged for a nice romantic dinner that same day and gave him 2 cards - one from me and one from the whole gang.  The last surprise just when he thought we were already leaving was when he went to the comfort room and when he came back to our table, he saw a prettily wrapped gift, I bought him a bottle of his favorite perfume.  He was so happy.   His birthday is in December so there were fireworks, it was such a lovely night.
