What do you do with your old Books?

I am surprisingly attached to my books, more than my clothes and shoes and bags apparently so hindi ko kaya ipamigay.  I kept them in pristine conditions and everything i buy here in UK, i shipped to Cebu if im done reading. Lahat ng books ko, andun in my room in Cebu. I cant imagine giving any of it. Naka-cover pa yun lahat.  Feeling ko, i will share those books sa future kids ko. 

Wow sis, super same tayo. I'm really attached to my books din tapos ayoko talagang ipamigay kasi gusto ko sa future house ko, may library wherein my kids can enjoy my books too.

I donate them especially my text books.. the pocketbooks, I plan to just sell coz sayang naman. I keep my copies of books in my iPad instead; easier pa to bring anywhere

Kapag mga fiction and self-help books, I sell them

pero yung pwedeng magamit ng mga student or mga kids, pinamimigay namin sa mga schools.

I keep my favorite books and give away other books left to my relatives and friends.

For novels, I keep them. For textbooks, I give them away. Depende sa book, kung pwede pakinabangan ng iba, bakit ko pa itatago?

if i really like the book and if it's grisham's then i keep them. if boring yun book, i sell them to a second hand store or swap it for something else. textbooks, self-help books and old cookbooks, i donate them to salvos

ako pinahiram ko dun sa officemate ko dati yung favorite book ko, then nagresign ako, nakalimutan ko ng kunin sidney sheldon pa naman!

so mula noon, di ko na pinapahiram kahit luma na yung book. baka di na isoli i just keep them all in my room. my most prized possessions are my anne rice books. they're beautifully arranged in my shelf.

^cling wrap naman ginagamit ko. and it should be sealed tight, if possible, with no air circulating. i do this with my old stuff that i want to keep, but, i don't do it for my books. ewan ko ba, but i LOVE books na medyo old na, yung yellowish na pages niya.

Except for my treasured cookbooks and business books, I sell or give away almost all my books. Sayang eh, better for others to find a use for them.  Hindi kasi ako masyadong attached sa books, except dun sa mga pinagiipunan ko na books (yung mga culinary tomes na pinapabili ko pa sa kung san san haha).

I donate whenever a book drive comes along, or give away to my friends. Though sadly may times talaga when I had to just had to throw the old and worn out ones away because nasasama pag may major cleaning sa bahay. I just organize them in a plastic bag baka sakali merong kumukuha ng trash at interesado pala sa mga anne rice at john grisham ko.

the children's books, we give it away pero pag yung mga lumang hardbound na mga classics from the 50's-60's, we either just put them in a shelf or put them in boxes. Marami kasi kaming lumang books na ganun

i still keep all my books (except school textbooks), some on my bookshelf and yung mga hindi kasya nasa malalaking plastic container that i bought in sm, and it's under my bed. 
some books that i bought and ayaw ko yung story, iniipon ko then when i go to manila, dadaan ako dun sa suki ko na secondhand bookstore, pinapapalit ko siya ng other book. kahit na super dami ko na books, i still love buying sa secondhand stores. kung meron nga lang ako alam na mag-ga-garage sale ng mga books nila na, english man or tagalog, at alam ko yung place, malamang pupunta ako agad. Ganun ako ka-adik sa books.

^ i think they do buy secondhand books, mga novels ba? pati tagalog pocketbooks meron din dun eh. hindi ko alam kung part siya ng central market yung place. basta  malapit sa isetann recto, dadaan sa underpass ba yun, ang mga katabi niya mga tshirt printing shops, mga nag-feframes etc.

Mga college textbooks, novels, may mga hardbound pako dito from booksale. Hehe! Magazines kaya?

^^ meron din bumibili ng mga textbooks doon. actually madami bumibili mga textbooks in that area. kasi mga college students on a budget dun usually naghahanap ng books. sa mga magazines hindi ko sure, pero sa may mga nakikita ako nagbebenta mga old magazines din.

@ uhlee - pareho tayo, i also lend my books, but i don't give them away. Grabe nga ang iyak ko dati nung wala ako sa bahay and may dumating na bisita mother ko, pinagkukuha yung iba ko books tutal naman daw nabasa ko na kaya kanya na lang daw. binigay naman ng mother ko, ang sama talaga loob ko that time. Hindi na nabalik sa akin eh.
