What do you do with your old Books?

As I clean my room I realized I have boxes and boxes of books.  I want to know what you do with your old books?  Keep them? Sell them? Donate them?
 
I need space in my room and to throw them away breaks my heart.

Hi sis! You can look for a small, start-up school and donate them in their library; at least you know they will be taken good care of.

Personally, i keep all my old books in my old room at my parent's house now.  If in the near future i get to have a room for a mini library in our own house then I'd move them.  I think of my books as my treasures so i make sure to have a special place for them.

what kind of books are these? for textbooks and references, i donate them. but for my pocketbooks, priced possessions ko yun eh so hindi ko pinapamigay, akin lang sila, neatly stocked up

It depends on what kind of books.... Mostly, i keep it all.  Eto lang yun investment/assest ko... Dito din napupunta yun salary ko... My problem are the magazines.... Dont' know what to do with them...

^for the magazines, you can sell them sa junk shop sis, although not all junk shops buy ata. my mom sells our old newspapers there din. although syempre lugi na kasi parang per kilo na lang yung bili nila.
or you can sell them na lang din to friends or officemates, kahit 10 pesos, ok na kahit papano. hope this helps

Gusto ko din ibenta mga books ko ng college, pero baka magamit ko pa someday..

we have tons and tons.. and tons of books dito sa house.. my mom is an avid reader of pocketbooks kasi, and namana ko naman. pero super dami na kasi... i want to donate them kaso i don't know kung saan pwede.. children pocketbooks eh.. yung favorite books lang gusto ko ikeep, yung mga paulit-ulit ko talaga binabasa.. may alam ba kayo na nagaaccept ng old books ?

i list them parang catalogue, then tie them up in bundles and store in huge plastic storage boxes. I separate those that i keep re-reading or books that gives me a good feeling when i see them and place them in a shelf where i can see them. Same with newly acquired books. im trying to build a personal library hehe..

My other books I sell online only the favorite ones remain. I post it on multiply. =)

last week lang, nagdispose na ako ng mga books namin. lahat ng elementary to college books binigay ko dun sa nagkakariton sa may amin, nabebenta daw kasi nila yun mga papel papel per kilo. halos narevise na rin kasi mga books ngayun diba? kaya binigay ko na lang sa kanya para ibenta niya.

yun mga tagalong pocketbooks ko naman, gagawin ko igagarage sale ko sa may amin, kahit siguro 5 pesos may bibili naman noh? puro bago pa yun mga pocketbooks ko kasi kami lang naman ni mother nagbabasa nun. yun mga pamangkin ko nga magbebenta sa garage so kanila na yun proceeds nun. pero yun mga english pocketbooks ko parang ayaw ko i-garage sale. hehe

I am surprisingly attached to my books, more than my clothes and shoes and bags apparently so hindi ko kaya ipamigay.  I kept them in pristine conditions and everything i buy here in UK, i shipped to Cebu if im done reading. Lahat ng books ko, andun in my room in Cebu. I cant imagine giving any of it. Naka-cover pa yun lahat.  Feeling ko, i will share those books sa future kids ko.

I have my old books stored in my room and a cabinet in the living room. More than half of the books I own my dad put in boxes he stored in a room above the kitchen. The maid found out this morning that termites destroyed my books completely. I can't stop crying eversince. My Enid Blyton, Tolkien, Grisham, Sheldon and other books are gone. Books I've had since I was young and I planned to give to my daughter. I can't describe the pain. Only booklovers would know how it feels. Sobrang depressed ako. I don't know where to start looking for copies of the books I lost. Hindi naman mura na to buy them all. Nakakapanlumo.

All my books, que good ones or bad ones, nakaplastic cover at nakazip-lock lahat. I've been doing it for so many years na.. Like sis Joycy super attached din ako sa mga books ko, can't imagine giving them away or selling them. When I got married, talagang hinakot ko lahat dito. Since irerenovate ang room namin ni hubby, nag-request talaga ako na gawan ako ng bookshelf, the only downside is open siya, so my books get dusty from time to time, pero nakazip-lock so ok lang

some are in boxes, some are on the shelves. gave away some to my cousins.

yung iba pinamigay ko sa younger cousins ko. yung iba naman nasa bookselves lang naninilaw na mga pages. kaya ginagawa ko, yung mga newer books ko, binibenta ko sa ebay after ko mabasa. tutal once or twice ko lang naman babasahin eh.

My old books are now for rent.  But my favorite ones are secured, I also put it in a zip-lock bag.

i keep them all. kahit di ko type yung book, it'll break my heart to see them go. di na nga kasya sa bookshelf ko e, maliit lang kasi.

Textbooks in Elem & Highschool - gave them away

Books for leisure reading - keep them.  I seldom buy books but when I do, it means love ko yung mga books na yun.  I just hope that it is still in good condition, never checked them last time I went home (and that's like 3 yrs ago!)
