me, when i graduated BSPT way back 2001 i tried to apply in david's for rever megamall as an asst manager , i got the job pero wala talaga hilig ko doon, kahit pa lahat ng make overs maaavail ko, hinahanap ko pa rin yung hospital.

Graduated as a nurse, RN nga pero RELAKS NARS naman ang drama ko nuon. I tried To volunteer in a tertiary hospital pero hindi ko kinaya ang talamak na chismisab sa hospital and ilan beses ako nakapag bigay ng maling gamot! Hahaha! So nung naka away ko yun pamanhkin ng may ari ng hospital umalis na ko after 3 months.

Nag part time event coordinator ako then study makeup artistry. Ngayon makeup artist na ko. Hehe Happy ako! Achieve na achieve!

i am a nursing grad and took up masters but hindi ko tinapos thesis ko. everything was settled but i felt nothing right is going in my career path. initially, i tool up pharmacy but did not finish, shifted to nursing.

i always wanted to take mass com but my mom did not approve.

i am already 31 years old, unemployed. i am managing a resort biz but still feel lacking..

Took BSN as well. I was in love with everything about being a nurse. As soon as I graduated, I took the exams and passed it. After that, I have worked twice in a call center - didn't last more than 6 months with either of the 2 companies. I figured to work in some other field since I'm still waiting for my DREAM EMPLOYERS/hospitals to hire. Then I discovered oDesk. I was working as a freelancer for more than 2 years. The income was VERY good and the job was not that hard to handle. Until now people and relatives still ask my why I gave it up. While I was doing oDesk I also took up makeup classes and worked as a part time freelance makeup artist for a few months. Although I really enjoyed it, there were just too many days that I don't feel like beautifying my clients. Now, I have a new job and can say that I'm still very satisfied with it. I get to earn a lot of money, meet new people all the time and I also get to travel the world. But until now, I still think about being a humble nurse again.

me, I graduated Bachelor in Elementary Education but not working as a teacher. Hindi ko naman kasi talaga gusto yun, it was my father's will to take up Educ. Gusto ko sana nun is commerce major in management kasi parang gusto ko magkaron ng business na resto-bar..hahaha.. kaya lang my mom told me na maganda lang daw ang course na yun kung may mamanahin ka ng negosyo agad na ima-manage pero kung wala eh mahirap daw yun tapos yung dad ko naman sabi pang walang pangarap daw ang course na yun. Oh diba puro nega kaya napa-oo na lang ako sa Educ. hahah.. Sineryoso ko naman ang course ko, i even graduated with honors and passed the board exam agad. That was all for my parents, Of course they were happy. Then i told myself, I'm done making my parents happy, it's time to make myself happy naman kaya sa office ako nag-work  kasi mas ok sakin yun. So again my father was disappointed kasi sinayang ko lang daw yung rinapos ko pero I explained to him na hinding-hindi talaga ako magtuturo kasi hindi yun ang gusto ko. Wala naman sya magawa ngayon kundi pabayaan ako haha , although hurtful to know na hindi sya masyado proud for me.

Now i'm happy naman sa work ko (media relations/public affairs) pero sometimes I feel like working as a secretary ng big boss ng isang company..hahah ang babaw noh, pero masaya na ko sa ganon..simpleng work lang naman kasi mga gusto ko.

wow sis mischa04.. sana ma feel ko din yan, di ko lang magawa gusto ko dahil nasa ibang bansa ako at I'm stuck in here.. parents ko they want me na maging nurse dun daw ako mag focus ei kung di na ako masaya ei.. dami ko emotion and want to tell with them feeling ko may bomb ako inside me waiting to explode. kasi madami kami di napag kakaintindihan at kasunduan ng parents ko haha..
iniiwasan ko yung mag away kami kasi may respeto naman ako sakanila pero yung mga sinasabi nila nasaken ang absurd di ko makuha yung reason nila bakit di pwede di ganyan.. hayyy gusto ko lang is maging independent and magawa gusto ko gawin sa buhay ko.

hi sis littlekinselle, i feel you..mahirap nga ang situation mo.. siguro slowly iparamdam mo sa kanila na hindi mo talaga gusto ang maging nurse na may iba kang gusto hanggang sa right timing na sasabihin mo na talaga na ayaw mo na at may iba ka ng gagawin.. prove to them na you can be successful kahit sa ibang field.. go lang mag-apply ka sa office kung dun ka sasaya like yung sinabi mo na want mo itry yung american company ba yun..then pag natanggap ka at maguumpisa ka na, tell them all about it and explain na susubukan mo ang ibang field na yun not just to make you happy but also to know yourself better. You just have to be ready sa disappointments or galit nila..but believe me sa umpisa lang yun..matatanggap din nila lalo na kung makikita nilang successful at masaya ka. Mahirap ang magtiis nakakasakal parang gustong kumawala kaya minsan nauuwi sa pagrerebelde.. Dati nga naisip ko magrebelde na lang haha Now, from time to time sinasabihan pa rin ako na magapply as teacher or tinatanong "di ka ba magtuturo?" haha paulit-ulit yun at paulit-ulit din sagot ko "NO!"

ako naman, accountancy graduate from a reputable school. passed the CPA and CIA boards. have worked in reputable companies sa finance dept.

BUT, what i really want to do is to teach. i tried taking masters in education, pero ang hirap pagsabayin kaya tinigil ko muna. gusto ko sana mag-fulltime sa masters pero di naman kaya mag-aral nang walang pang-tustos. hindi option ang scholarship lang to get my masters kasi i need to support my parents.

i have two dream jobs actually: 1) work in UNICEF; 2) teach. pero hindi pa ko qualified in both without further studies. hay.

nagbabago talaga ang fields at specialty as time goes by. pero ano ba mas mabigat? passion or money?

sis misscha04 me and mama had an argument last night, nag kasagutan kami ni mama in a nice way naman pero di talaga ako contented sa sinabi niya, walang point!! sis di na ako pwede mag apply dun kasi di naman na hiring dun..  sis they treat me like a small child! nakaka inis! I will show to them gradually na di ko talag gusto maging nurse.. hay desperate na ako makawala.. at umuwi ng pinas..
haha buti di ka nag tatalo ng daddy mo sis?? srap ng  feeling na yung parents' mo is supported ka isa decisions mo sa buhay..

^@littlekinselle, it's hard when you're not happy with nor enjoying your job. nakakaburyo, diba? so i feel for you. hopefully you can come out of your shell and start exploring what your passion really is, because life is short. Ang laking fulfillment pag ganun.

hi sis, di naman kami umabot ng dad ko sa pagsasagutan or tipong nagaaway na kami..pero alam mo yung feeling na di sya proud sayo, yung kapag may nagtatanong na friend or kakilala nya, teacher yan pero ayaw magturo with matching dismay and ikinakahiya reaction, pati job mo di maipagmalaki..hay, hinahayaan ko na lang kahit minsan naiinis ako kasi parang napakawalang kwenta ko naman..

Sayang pala un job pero ok lang yun may mas maganda ka pa makikita, try mo na rin dyan magwork abroad, mga companies dyan, tutal andyan ka na. Explain to them na di ka na bata..pwede na po gumawa ng bata hahah ..joke lang.. I hope maging happy ka na sis..sana you find the right path of success and happiness soon.

ako naman almost 2 yrs and half ako work as a Staff Nurse, 3 hospitals na din na ikutan ko, ngayon 3 yrs and a half na ako work as a Cust rep sa isang BPO company, which is really suck! I love being a nurse, part time novelist/writer ako, ayaw ko na sa BPO company na pinapasukan ko kasi napaka daming sipsip at hndi namn ako ma promote promote! nganga lang un drama ko sa company na un,,,

ngayon, nagising na ako sa katotohanan, kailangan ko na talagang lumipat ng ibang work, hindi naman ako umuunlad dun eh

I've been working in an IT company for 2 years. Now, I'm working in a BPO (travel) for 4 years and 8 months.

Suddenly, I started asking myself If I am really happy with what I do. Until I took up makeup classes. Nagustuhan ko siya. I'm into makeup for a month now and I want to make it as a new career. Dati, first love ko talaga ang dancing. And I really want to be a dance performer abroad. But later on, I realized, I want to work sa likod naman ng stage. =)

Kaso, because I;m new into this, I don't know where to start. =(

andaming BSN grad at RN na nagpopost. Padagdag ako.. ^.^ I am an RN also with a hospital experience for almost 2 years. Batch 2010, na nagtry magkaroon ng first work as an ESL teacher  sa mga koreans. Ampanget ng attitude ng mga batang koreans..anhirap nilang i please , nasabi ko tuloy na di ako pwede maging teacher..lol after nag end ang contract ko , i tried to be a volunteer nurse sa tertiary hospital for a couple of months then later on my supervisor has given me schedules to be a reliever nurse. I got disappointed how my career as a nurse turns out because i have given works in the hospital that are degrading on my part. Anliit pa ng sweldo. Plano ko ngayong mag iba ng career na pangmatagalan at makakatulong sa pamilya ko financially. Nahihiya na talaga ko sa parents ko kasi konti lang naiambag ko. Wala na rin akong planong mag abroad sa laki ng gastos. Before ako nakapag enroll sa nursing e sa IT sana ako mag eenroll kaso pinigilan ako ni mama. These days i am into online works at na realized kong angat talaga ang may alam sa computer. I am planning to take a crash course para matutunan ko ang mundo ng web. Sana di pa huli ang lahat para sa akin. Nagpamember na rin ako sa isang real estate company na may online marketing. Hope successful to.

Update ko lang situation ko now.. tinatamad na ako mag hanap ng work dito sa abroad 4months na ako vacant.. Gusto ko din mag take ng course ng IT same like @lady_avoidant plan ko sana mag UP ITTC mag school ng IT.. kaso still here abroad tambay lang.. and I still can't open up to my parents' sure naman ako di sila makikinig saken.. haha. dami nila negative assumptions pag umuwi daw ako ng pinas mag tatanan lang daw kami ni BF hay bkit kaya ganun di kaya nila alam na na sasaktan ako pag ni-momock ang mahal ko kahit naman sila i-mock ng iba masasaktan ako. Di ko lang talaga kaya sumagot sa mama ko

hi sis. na-touch naman ako sa sinabi mo. ang simple lang ng sinabi mo pero na-encourage naman ako. salamat. i'm just waiting on God to show me the next steps. kasi until now, hindi ko pa rin alam how to pursue that dream, given na malapit na mag-retire ang parents ko so i need to earn money. eh di ko talaga masabay ang MA while working. hay. God is in control.

Ako nga parang gusto ko lumipat ng work pero ayoko magrisk kasi paretire na rin daddy ko next year eh i still have 2 sisters na nagaaral,.eh ako panganay so ako talaga aasahan.

i remember talking to someone about this before - about pursuing my "passion" as a career instead of the "career" i have now. what that person told me was that "career" and "passion" are different. career is something a person does to earn a living, but passion is something a person does "on the side" to keep a balanced life. HOWEVER, after hearing that, what i thought to myself was:

"Wouldn't it be great if you could do something you're passionate about for a living?" - i think that would be great. it may not earn as much, but that's the sacrifice you're making. if you love something so much, the satisfaction you'd get from it could exceed the sacrifice made (but of course, depende sa tao).

kasi thinking about it, i'm not passionate with my current career. it's not something i'm excited to go to. it doesn't give me any contentment and satisfaction. but when i teach and i connect with my students, and interact with them, i'm really very happy and content. i imagine working with UNICEF or teaching children and that is the dream that i really long for and desire the most.
