We availed of the Garden View Summer Sale, and visited Misibis just this April. Here's what I have to say about our experience there:
(1) Mainit -- The Garden View Rooms only make use of 1-horsepower airconditioning. Hindi kaya ang singaw ng init sa labas. We complained about this, kaso hindi naman nila basta-basta mapapalitan ang aircon. Pero sa gabi medyo malamig na rin.
(2) Medyo malayo ang Garden View rooms. So kung hindi ka na makahintay sa golf carts na madalas ay matagal dumating, maglalakad ka talaga sa tirik ng araw para makakain or pumunta sa mga pools. So there were times when my husband and I would just opt to order food from our room para doon na lang din kami kakain. Kaso syempre medyo matagal din.
(3) Food is really nothing special, considering na luxury hotel siya supposedly. We've had better buffet. Food is also very expensive, but we already expected that.
(4) May konting eye sore like water-stained ceilings & peeling paint, at parang mabilis naluluma 'yung ibang facility, considering na hindi pa naman ganun katagal ang Misibis. When we stayed at Shangri-la Boracay, walang ganun. Pero I saw naman that someone at Misibis was doing repairs, so siguro maayos din nila 'yun.
(5) Brownout, as in madalas mag-brownout. Sabi ng electrician nila dun, nagsiswitch kasi sila during the day sa genset. There was an instance na more than 30 minutes kami walang kuryente sa katirikan ng tanghali.
(6) The room is generally maintained clean. Pero if you've been to other luxury hotels/resorts, macocompare mo na hindi papasa sa white glove test 'yung room namin. May konting alikabok sa mga gamit, sa furniture. I think siguro hindi rin nila maiwasan dahil may on-going construction sa katabing lot.
(7) But I appreciated that the bathroom supplies were Crabtree & Evelyn products. 'Yun nga lang, maliit ang shower & toilet areas, as in cramped, pero magkahiwalay sila. Siguro budget room kasi talaga ang Garden View.
(8 ) All the usual stuff that we needed were provided in the room.
(9) The staff were courteous and attentive. Palaging nakangiti at bumabati.
(10) Misibis is very photogenic, pero hindi siya kasing laki ng inexpect namin based on the photos we saw online.
(11) The free non-motorized activities will keep you entertained. Magagawa mo nga lang sila kapag hindi na masyado mataas ang araw kasi sobrang init talaga.
(12) The Eco Park was disappointing kasi isang malaki lang siyang talahiban na may maikling zip line.
(13) Value for money? To be honest, I will not pay full price just to stay at Misibis. Kasi for the same price, you will get more WOWed by other luxury resorts. I suppose puwede na rin 'yung binayaran naming promo rate for 3 days / 2 nights. You get what you pay for.
