Beaches in SouthEast Asia

Thailand has Phuket, Indonesia has Bali, Malaysia has Kota Kinabalu and of course we have Boracay..

If you've been to any of these beaches, please share your experiences.

What other beaches in South East Asia have you been to?

Probably may matinding bias, but we do have the best beaches. Mas maputi and mas pino yung sand dito.

Sa Kota Kinabalu, okay naman yung beach. Ang pinakanagustuhan ko dun is that may maayos na infrastructure in the islands. Since it's a marine park, hindi basta basta na may mga nakatayong mga buildings.

Kuta and Legian beaches in Bali are okay, nothing spectacular. what's great naman about Bali is the culture. They really embrace their culture that's why everywhere you go, you see and feel it.

If Hoi An, Vietnam is in your itinerary, check out Cua Dai beach. Okay yung beach and not as crowded.

Have you been to Phuket sis? We are choosing between Bali and Phuket.. pero mas kinoconsider namin ang Phuket.. wala sa option namin ang Kota Kinabalu, although we will be coming from Kuala Lumpur.. we want to hit 2 countries in one trip kasi.. so either Kuala Lumpur-Phuket or Kuala Lumpur-Bali..

kung phuket lang, try mo check koh samui. mas unspoiled daw beaches

easily accessible ba ang Koh Samui? or mga hotel shuttle services lang ang means of transfer dun?

sa mga nakapag-stay na sa Kamala beach in Phuket, any review that you can share? Kamala is about 10-15 minutes from Patong and compared to Patong na busy ang nightlife, Kamala is more quiet and relaxing.. di kaya boring dito?

Hi neeners!! I'm guessing you've already been to Bali.. hindi ba white and sand dun? chineck ko kasi sa google map, parang hindi.. so i also checked kota kinabalu and phuket to compare.. white pareho.. either Phuket or Bali siguro kami.. i'm okay with Bali (if we can find cheap plane tickets) because it's a new country on my passport never been to indonesia kasi hihi

wickedbone: Yup, di nga siya white. If you want to learn how to surf, okay dun kasi malakas alon (but puede pa rin for swimming). Yung sa Kota Kinabalu, white but not as fine as the sand in Boracay or Palawan. Pero ang maganda sa Bali is yung culture nila (actually a lot of people go there for the culture, not the beach)

so I guess Bali is not for us.. okay ako actually kahit san ako ilagay but i'm not so sure about the others.. they really want to go to a nice beach somewhere outside Pinas.. so, scratching off Bali in the list.. back to Phuket..  ang gulo na ng trip namin hehe.. anyway, thank you girls for sharing info..

^suggestion lang sis ha, why don't you go to palawan nalang? mahalin ang sariling atin ika nga but seriously, di hamak talaga na mas maganda pa ang mga beach natin kaya nga andaming nababaliw na europeans pumunta dito satin and bumili ng beachfront property.

but if gusto nyo talaga out of the country... check mo malaysia, madami silang magagandang beach. check mo pulau rawa.

because some of us have been there already..  they also go to Boracay every year.. chaka may mga roundtrip tickets na din kasi kami going to Kuala Lumpur.. sayang naman kung 6 days puro KL lang kaya naghahanap kami ng beach na accessible from Kuala Lumpur (by plane).. ok din sana Penang or within Malaysia nalang pero if we can find promo fares going to Phuket or Bali, siempre mas ok yun..

honestly, i really don't recommend boracay when it comes to beach bumming. too crowded. people go there to basically party and be seen. not my cup of tea. i prefer getting close to nature bohol is also nice.

Langkawi, Malaysia has some really nice beaches and the lake in the geothermal park is gorgeous as well.  You can check my travel blog for pics (link in my sig).

I've never been to Bali and Phuket but have friends who have been there and they're unanimous in saying that we have so much better beaches.  I've seen pics of Phuket and it's like Puerto Galera lang, the sand is not so white even the beachfront of 5-star hotels.  As for Bali, it is a favorite holiday spot for Australians as it is the closest tropical country here, so I've seen a lot of shows with Bali on it.  Bali has dark sand and the popular beach there is more for more surfing than anything else.  I think the attraction of Bali is the party lifestyle, not the beach itself, much like Boracay.

^Worth it siya sis, super relaxing and sobrang pampered Ganda nung geothermal park, very serene.  At san ka pa naman makapag-yacht cruise for that price di ba   Sana lang wag kayo masyado marami kasabay (unless you're the party-going, extrovert types then you'll enjoy cruising while drinking with the others).

I heard nga rin that our beaches are still the best and Phuket, Bali, et al are nothing compared to our own beaches.  Pero I still want to experience these myself.   So far, di pa ko nakakapagbeach sa ibang countries other than the Philippines. I always go to the cities and other touristy stuff, but not the beach.  Goal ko next year is to see all these beaches all over Asia.

Has anyone been to Koh/Ko Lipe in Thailand? That one seems really nice, comparable even to what we consider to be the best we have in The Phils.
