Yes, Mt is really more challenging than boxing. Those kicks aren't  a joke. MT follows boxing stance so a good foundation in boxing helps then you'll learn the difference as you go along. MT is a lifelong lesson, daming techniques na pwedeng matutunan and not to mention clinch techniques. Enjoy the sport sis!

Always wanted to try muay thai but was always too chicken to give it a go. Finally got to try it at Elorde. Hubby boxes there so he dragged me this afternoon to finally give it a try. Masaya siya!

I don't box by the way but I do yoga. Buti nalang di rin naman ako masyado binigla ng trainer. Must say, those kicks really drained the hell out of me. Di ko na alam kung saan kukuha ng lakas. Hehe. So napatunayan ko na sususbukin talaga yung endurance at stamina mo sa MT. But I loved the first session. Hopefully I'll be able to train 2x a week.

Do all of you train at Elorde?

I've been training boxing in Elorde Tandang Sora for months. Recently, my trainer introduced basic Muay Thai to me. Now, I can say Im a bit addicted na kasi I train for like 5 days a week lol. I agree na mas hinihingal ako dito compared to boxing.

I'm hoping to improve my stance after a few months. Nakakainggit kasi yung mga guys na kasabay ko magtraining kasi talagang malakas yung tunog ng kick nila. I'm so into Muay Thai na kahet sa bahay and even sa office (lol), I watch YT videos for tutorials and techniques.

Mas nakakahingal naman kasi talaga ang muay since gagamit ka din ng paa to attack unlike boxing na ang paa is hindi ginagamit to attack. Ako I'll try muay thai soon pero as of the moment, boxing muna until dun na ko sa advanced phase haha. Intermediate pa lang kasi ako eh

^your right sis. its a beautiful sport. after every end of the training, i didn't feel like ginawa ko siya just so I'd lose weight. super enjoy ako but at the same time, nachachallenge ako to improve myself since ang dameng techniques to learn. i also don't mind if marami akong bruises sa paa (minsan mali mali pa kasi yung form ko) or sa legs haha.

i haven't watched wai krhu videos pa. more on the basics pa lang yung mga pinapanood ko sa YT. i'll check those soon. :)

I agree okay na Martial art ang Muaythai kahit na wala ako experience talaga but have been watching some figths on youtube and have seen some of its techniques utilize effectively in Mixed Martial arts.

Anybody here watch the UFC?  I just saw Anderson Silva destroyed Rich Franklin like he was nothing with the plum clinch.

kakakilabot kasi parang mababali na ribs kaka tuhod.

jazzygelable: i'm glad to know you don't mind the bruises, sabi nga ng kru ko, diyan ka titibay. It's very rare to find girls who enjoy the sport the way we do kaya sana you continue to be inspired. Naku, when you already know who Saenchai, Pornsanae, Bwakaw, et al, tell me para may kachika ako. Try to watch their fight vids too kasi they all have their own techniques.

cher_y: i watch UFC. Maganda kasing striking ang MT that's why a lot can be applied in MMA, since MMa has many facets. Well, Anderson Silva is one of my favorite MMA fighters, sayang lang he got injured, i fear he might not be able to fight the way he used to.

Nakita ko yung fight na nabali legs niya kaka kilabot, so sad to see a good athlete to have a potentially career ending injury.

I enjoyed doing this a few years back. I did this at Elorde Las PiƱas but now wala na Elorde dun.

Nag lose talaga ako ng inches kakasipa. Nakaka addict.

Hopefully I'd be back anytime this year pag nagawa na ulit ang Elorde Daang Hari.

Give it a try muna and see hiw you'll bruise. If nagkakapasa ka talaga and it's not because of incorrect execution, maybe you wear shin guards. Although some trainers won't enciurage you to wear shin guards not unless you're sparring.
