Holiday Ownership Investment?? For those who love TRAVELLING

Hello mga sis...have you heard of this? "Holiday Ownership" ... not sure if this is really an ivestment pero parang dumadami na yung ganto.

Not really owning a PROPERTY but parang owning a space at some hotels/inns/resorts na whenever you want to relax there you have your own place na then if hindi mo gagamitin yung place pwede mo ipa-rent

The concept is...if you love travelling , instead of renting and renting out on accomodations, you own it, so whenever you want to travel or unwind at some place (domestic/international) parang libre ka na, you just have to pay for a certain amount then you can use it for 30 years na.

Astoria right? Very tempting ang offer na yan. Muntik na nga ako mag avail. Buti na lang kinosider ko ang priorities ko.

i have read that holiday ownership investment is one of the marketing strategy used by hotels..when they offer you things like this, i suggest dont say yes right away, instead google it first before getting one. para lang safe..

i hope that's not the same as time share? well, time share per se, maganda sana sya. my friend's family has one and nasusulit talaga nila. she's based in US and travels to europe to use her time share. pero for our country, marami dyan scam. i personally have encountered one. kung marami lang akong oras at pera, i would have sued them. so please do your research muna before joining one.

wow! talaga..merun kase ako encounter with balai isabel...its under techno-asia development and construction...seems reliable naman kase 25 years na ang technoasia and yung pinaka owner dame nya properties...all under the name ISABELLE/ISABEL like yan nga BALAI ISABEL..ISABEL ROYALLE mga ganun..have you heard of this?

Time share are legitimate naman. we have a time share property in Subic Holiday Villa since 2003. just choose wisely and wag yung masyadong mahal.

yes, time shares are useful kung palagi naman magagamit. my fiance's sister meron time share. i think 1M ang kuha nila then every year may maintenance fee na $400 ata.

ilan times na namin nagamit sa U.S and Asia. 2 bedrooms palagi kahit dalawa lang kayo. with kitchen pati. 2 weeks max per year pwede gamitin sa mga accredited hotels.

My husband avail this last year for Balai Isabel and so far sulit [textspeak!] membership namin [textspeak!] wala kme binabayaran sa stay namin don since meron kmeng free 7days and 7night stay don. At the same time may discount din kme sa mga hotel outside the country. Nka-tie up [textspeak!] timeshare na nkuha namin sa RCI although di pa namin natatry magtravel abroad. Magstart lang kme magbayad ng annual fee sa RCI once na-avail na nmin [textspeak!] discount outside the country sa mga credited hotels nila.

they paid mga 180k,for 6 mos w/no interest ,discounted price pa kc orig price daw eh 220k

tapos bngyan cla ng mga gift cert,here and Thailand w/c they have used already.

now the term is they can travel anywhere in the world once every 2 yrs,w/n 30 yrs (so parang 15 times cla mkkatravel)

1 week accomodation for 4 pax,in a suite (i forgot f kasama food)

anyways,sulit sa kanila kc hubby niya sa airline nagwwork so discounted rate sila s plane ticket   

minsan nga ssabit ako sa trip nila since 3 lang naman sila,they only have one little baby girl

Yun aunt ko na nasa US, may timeshare rin sila. Pwede nila i-avail abroad or here. May discount (or free) sila sa Disney saka sa mga hotels sa iba't ibang countries

heheh one time when i went to mexico, paglabas mo pa lang ng airport sobrang dami na ng agents ang sasalubong sa iyo for this kind of stuff.

nah, i dont agree with it.  i know lots who lost money here.  for me lang ha, its not a wise investment.

While strolling the beach earlier, someone from Astoria Boracay invited us today for free dinner buffet. Nothing is free in this world so I got curious, I searched the net and found out that there are bad reviews.

I think this is good fo those people who are frequent travellers and those who can afford paying thousands of money for hotel membership.

para syang country club membership.  tapos the more you go, syempre alangan naman wala ka nang ibang miscellaneous na gagastusin (airfare, travel tax, food).

feeling ko para lang sya sa mga walang magawa sa pera na mga tao.    Yes I can save pag titingnan mo on a 1 travel event basis.  Pero in the long run lugi ka.  Kasi ang daming what ifs na beyond your control.  For one, yung papatakbo ng hotel, hindi mo naman kaano ano.  Nakasalalay din ang membership mo sa mga ibang members na hindi magwithdraw. 

Tapos what if someday you have to tighten your belts?  Pano na?  hindi mo na sya magagamit.  Sayang. For me, I'd rather travel without discounts NOW knowing ngayon ko lang kinocommit sarili ko, kesa maka discount ngako ngayon pero in the long run, kelangan ko pa magbayad to maintain my membership.

Then you have the maintenance/yr. Assuming you will get the most basic 8k/yr.

So effectively, you are shelling out P14k/year for 1 wk stay sa hotel.  Parang 2k/night. This is cheaper than the typical P3-4k/night, excluding any promotions.

Kaso ang catch:

1.  Will the maintenance fee of 8k per year will always be 8k?  I doubt, tataas din syempre yan, depende sa cost of maintaining the place.

2.  If you dont pay the 8k/yr maintenance, wala na yung P180k membership mo. So kung baga tali ka sa 8k/yr pero puedeng tumaas to whatever amount.

3.  You also have the issue of peak/off peak season.  Pano if you want to use your 1 wk stay during Xmas at fully booked na ang Astoria?  you wont be prioritized.  So you have to select the days na hindi peak season, most often, busy ka din working at that time kasi hindi holidays.

So, for me, I would rather keep my P180k and my P8k/yr (na puede tumaas), and just pay P5-10k/night for a hotel of my choice that I can afford, at kung kelan ko man gusto in the future.

yup, yun ang sabi sa amin sis, at yan din ang naisip namin, we dont always go on vacation naman so i don't think masusulit namin ang membership dyan. i'm just glad we made a good decision.
