Wisdom Tooth Extraction - Thread 2

Hi. I'am scheduled for both lower wisdom teeth extraction this month in PGH. According to the dentist, may possibility for complication which is Paresthesia (It involves a situation where tissues or structures in or around the mouth (lip, tongue, facial skin, mouth lining, etc...) experience prolonged or possibly permanent altered sensation due to nerve trauma that's been created.). Both teeth malapit sa nerve.
Maliit lang naman yung chance na maging permanent paresthesia (severe damage of nerve), usually daw within 8 weeks nagiging okay na. Pero dahil paranoid ako, naiisip ko what if maging permanent? Now, nagdadalawang isip ako kung itutuloy ko pa. I asked the dentist if mas okay wag nang bunutin pero sabi nya bunutin daw para di bumalik sa dati yung ngipin pag tinanggal yung braces. Pero kung permanent paresthesia lang din ang kapalit, mas gugustuhin ko pang magka-crooked teeth.

I underwent na rin impacted tooth surgery 2 years ago. Grabe, more than 1 hour ako nakanganga. Di man lang ako makalunok, tapos para akong masusuka. 3 times nakong nabunutan ng ngipin, pero yung surgery na yun ang pinaka hindi ko makakalimutan. Whew! Anyways, 7k pala ang singil sakin ng dentist. Mas mura compare dun sa una kong pinuntahan, which is 14k yata ang singil sakin..

^ sis sinong dentist mo and saan ang clinic nya? Naghahanap ako ng dentist kasi from time to time sumasakit ang wisdom tooth ko sa lower right. 

1 had 4 of my impacted wisdom teeth extracted all of the same day. I felt lang na nangapal yung lips ko pero no pain at all. Talagang magaling lang yung dentist ko.

I only took 3 tablets of pain killer then wala na. Back to normal na. Sobrang magaan yung kamay ng dentist ko and no pain even during the extraction. Talagang yung needle ln ng paglalagay ng anesthesia yung medjo scary.

I paid about 17k. 'Twas 2013 pa yata.

May specific  specialty ba dapat ang dentist who will do the extraction for wisdom tooth, or pwede na na just  any licensed DDM?

I can reco dr charlston uy. Super galing talaga. I had mine done almost 2 years ago.. Sabay pa take note lower right and lower left 3rd molars. My reason for doing it na sabay.. Isahan lahat (gamot, pain, leave) plus weight loss benefits. Kidding. Seriously though, ang galing nya 5th day palang i look normal na (2nd day i look like spongebob squarepants sa maga ng face)
Everytime i wince ( more on nerbyos sa sounds ng cracking, konting pain,etc) he would stop and ask if may masakit and he would not skimp on the anaesthesia...
His PF was 4k per tooth, so i spent roughly 10k (4k per tooth so that's x2, meds, recovery food, etc)
I had a client na dentist din mom and she said mura yun 4k because usually 6k or so daw

Hi mga sis. Soft diet ba kayo after ng extraction? And ilang days bago tinanggal yung sinulid na pinangtahi sa inyo? Pinababalik kasi ako after 2 weeks, di ba matagal yun? :-)

Di ako maka nga nga, pero nakaka kain naman ako, yun nga lang sobrang bagal at hindi ako nag chew. As in subo, lunok. kaya medyo tinatadtad ko mga food na kinakain ko.

Dalawa ang pinatanggal ko na impacted. Lower left and right.
Sobrang sakit. Naamoy ko pa ang sunog na buto. Baka kulang ng anesthesia. Pero kinaya ko parin.
2 weeks ang pagitan. Pumayat ako after dahil isang buwan din ako di nakakain ng maayos. hahahaha

I had 2 wisdom teeth surgically removed under general anaesthetic by a maxillo facial surgeon. I initially went to the dentist para cheaper but when he did a dental xray,my tooth was sitting on a nerve thus the referral. The surgeon charges $700 AUD per tooth. Buti na lang, i work in that hospital and i know the anaesthetist so he didn't charge me na plus no hospital charges and other fees were taken care by ouf health insurance. Pero still, $1400 is a lot of money!! 50k plus if you convert in peso.

Basically, general anaesthetic, i was asleep the whole time. Didn't remember anything. I was already in recovery when i woke up. It was done in about 20 min lang. No need to come back for stitch removal coz it dissolves.  Impacted din my lower one. I am well na after 3-4 days.

Hi sissies! thank God for ths blog, just had my 2 wisdom tooth removed yesterday! sobrang sakit na kasi, eh buti nalang nakita ko dito. 4k per tooth lang chinarge sakin ni Doktora, sobrang natuwa ako kasi nag canvas ako sa ibang dentist sa private e 8k per tooth daw yung case ko. imagine, half the price!

Share ko lang experience ko, una natakot ako as in nanginginig ako sa kaba kasi natrauma na ako dati sa dating dentist ko. But, nagulat ako kasi ang bilis tanggalin ni doc i think less than an hour tapos na kami and di ako nakaramdam masyado ng pain. may naffeel ako pero sakto lang. Katuwa si doktora kasi bata pa sya pero nagspecialize na sya ng surgery, so di mo akalain na doktora na sya! and nakakabilib kasi magaan ang kamay compared sa dati ko. Ayun, sana makatulong ako sa mga naghahanap ng affordable na mapupuntahan na dentist kasi ramdam ko ang bigat sa bulsa. So far, okay naman ako ngayon may binigay lang na meds sakin si doc. Overall experience ko masasabi ko, smooth ang surgery.

10-15k worth mataas ba and price nun for impacted tooth removal?

I have two impacted wisdom teeth. I had the surgery yesterday. Both sa left side ko yung 2. Dun sa lower part, the dentist performed coronectomy since the tooth was close to the nerve at may possibility ng paresthesia if tinanggal. So tinanggal niya yung crown then antayin ng ilang months to a year na humiwalay yung tooth sa nerve at lumabas para tanggalin. Yung nasa itaas naman hindi matanggal dahil nakaharang si 2nd molar so tinanggal si 2nd molar para dun lumabas si wisdom tooth. The surgery lasted for 4 hours. After the anesthesia wore off, may slight pain pero meron naman meds. Then today no pain at all

hindi ko pa mapatanggal yung isang wisdom tooth ko kasi my hyperthyroidism ko. Nung pinatanggal ko yung isa hindi sinabay ng dentista yung katapat tapos nakikita ko yung ngipin sa taaas bumababa na.  Sabi ng friend ko pag tumagal daw tatama na daw sa gums sa baba at masakit daw yun

Kakatapos lang nung sakin kahapon and I must say wala nang pain. 3 na wisdom teeth ang pinatanggal ko para sa medication isang inuman na lang. In 1 hour natapos lahat. Magaling makisama ang ipin ko and cool si doc hehe. First time ko nga sya ma meet after X ray e binigyan ko lang ng available date ko saka nag push through ang bunutan. Lower left ko yung impacted, may suture and onting kirot, pero yung dalwa sa taas wala na ko maramdamang sakit talaga. Swerte ko rin daw at walang tumubo (nor tutubo) sa lower right ko-- genetically ganun daw siguro. Sa Eastwood ako nagpagawa worth it naman kahit napagastos ako ng onti.

Almost a week ako soft diet after my surgery. Maga ang cheeks. The pain was felt after the surgery, but during ay wala talaga.

If you're in Caloocan (south) area, I recommend my dentist there. I'm just not sure if he's still there since di na ako taga-dun now. Evangelio is his name, along Samson Road. 3k for each tooth, but that was 2011.

Hi! I'm scheduled for wisdom tooth extraction tomorrow. Walang binigay na meds sakin prior sa surgery, only Hemostat for blood. But I heard some are given antibiotics 3 days prior to surgery. Is it necessary? Or di naman? I'm quite paranoid coz malapit sa nerve yung wisdom tooth ko, baka kung ano mangyari. Pero as I have researched online, matagal naman na experience nung dentist ko sa surgery. Need your inputs sissies. Thanks!

Dr Uy gumawa ng surgery ko, sabay left and right lower wisdom tooth. 4k/tooth, both impacted. Overall mga 9-10k kasama na xray, meds, ice cream and groceries needed to recuperate
Magaling si doc. Konting ngiwi ko, will ask me to signal if nakakaramdam ako pain.. And lagay ng anaesthesia pa. One week ok na ako hindi na maga ang face

My orthodontist suggested patanggal ko upper wisdom teeth ko, kahit hindi impacted, kasi sabi nya bumababa daw. Will  schedule Kay doc uy ulit. Quote sakin 2k/tooth, tapos 2 days rest, no gym.
