Wisdom Tooth Extraction - Thread 2

I visited Dr. Uy's Clinic kanina. Free consultation lang at nag pa panoramic x-ray lang ako and planning to have my 2 wisdom teeth removed for  5K each. Eh was too chicken kanina papa appointment nalang ako. Katakot. :/

Hmmm has any here decided to remove their tooth/teeth because it is the culprit of you having a bad breath? Thanks

Mga sis, saan po ang clinic ni Dr. Uy, yung wisdom tooth ko parang nag-cause na siya ng swelling ng gums ko. Masakit and namamaga na gums ko.

ako i had my wisdom teeth both sides removed at the same time kay dr uy for the reason na angsakit na nya, pati temple ko sumasakit na. mind you since 18 lumalabs labas na but 25 na ako nung pinatanggal ko kasi di naman talaga ako na bother nun but nung sumakit pinaalis ko na..his dental clinic is in lacson espana. near pizza hut. almost tapat ng lacson gateng UST

Had a consultation with Dr. Uy this afternoon, sure enough, need to have 2 (out of my 4) wisdom teeth removed. The lower right swelled last night, but no pain. So far, he prescribed me antibiotics and oral antiseptic. Will have the 2 extracted by Feb. Rate he gave is 5k per tooth since malalim. Free consultation and I only paid for the x-ray. Very very very nice doctor I may say so.

Also, it turns out the neck pain and shoulder pain Ive been suffering for years ang cause is the impacted teeth, so I really have to have it taken out. Im kinda scarred coz I have not ever had any surgery or tooth taken out..

Yun nga din, isahang leave na lang, pero medyo mahirap coz both sides ang sabay. sis rhumbafrapp, how was the pain level??

i will be honest. masakit talaga esp nung day 1 and 2. pero may prescribed meds and as long as you follow it ma aaddress naman yin pain. pain scale for me 8-9/10

dr uy is very mabait, while waiting for my father who drove me to get the car, he administered pa ilang washes ng anaesthetic when i mentioned nararamdaman ko na tge pain. yun isa sabi nya para naman sakto mag effect na the mefenamic acid para wala ako maramdaman.

sabi ng dentist ko its possible na more than 4 ang tumubo unfortunately ako na yung isa sa mga tao na tutubuan ng more than 4  and i'm experiencing now the pain

i just had my two wisdom teeth removed last week and it was painless and cheap. gaan ng kamay ni doc. hindi nya ako tinipid sa anaesthesia. whenever i felt discomfort, even just a little, he would give me another small dose until magulat nalang ako, nabunot nya na pala. it was far from what i expected. only lasted for one hour for both teeth na kasama pa chicka. pagkatapos ng procedure nakapag mall pako. those in the makati area, i recommend him, dr. jv jarigue who was also just referred to me by a friend. his clinic is in cityland herrera tower. he only charged me 4k each tooth. he's so nice din. always checks up on me from time to time and i can also call him anytime for anything.

^ano tinanggal sayo? upper or lower? kasi i had my lower removed in Pinas before.. it was painless but after ng operation namaga talaga mukha ko and ang tagal magheal even with antibiotic. But recently, i had my upper wisdom tooth removed here in US.  It was painless and i didn't experience any swelling after the procedure. I didn't take any antibiotics din. So i wonder if it has something to do with the position of the tooth, or nasa doctor talaga yun?

Also, sabi ng dentist dito, pag upper wisdom tooth daw pwede na ordinary dentist gumawa, but if it's the lower one, he would have to refer me to an oral surgeon.. ayun.

upper ang tinanggal sakin eh, both sides. walang swelling. i took a course of antibiotics, four days pre-operation then tinuloy ko ng another 3days post-op. he also gave me celebrex which counters inflammation and pain. baka that helped to prevent the swelling.
i read somewhere that the risk of lower wisdom tooth extraction is hitting the nerves close to the jaw, which can cause parasthesia. and risky din pag upper wisdom tooth because of the proximity to the sinus naman. i guess it also depends on how the tooth is positioned kung kaya ng oral surgeon or ordinary dentist.

^ahh. Thanks. The dentist mentioned those risks nga eh. Siguro magaling din talaga siya kasi hindi manlang nagswell yung pisngi ko kahit walang antibiotic. Unlike yun una kong surgery na talagang hirap ako after ng operation.

Before ako magbraces nakita na sa xray yung 2 impacted ko sa lower part. Pero Gr 6 palang naman ako nun. So after 4 years binigyan ako ng choice ng dentist. Extraction or tatagalin yung 2nd molar ko. Since binigay naman niya yung option na tanggalin yung molar, yun na pinili ko. And so far wala namang prob. 21 na ko ngayon hindi pa fully nakalabas yung wisdom ko pero parang siya na yung papalit sa 2nd molar ko na tinaggal.

Mine sabay upper and lower one side...still have to sched. For the other side naman..

It depends on the site of the impacted tooth., but when it is at the lower since the bone is harder nd dense, it is more difficult to remove. Depends din on the amount of bone reduction dahil din sa position of the tooth.
 Kaya pending pa 1 side na mga kailangan extract...Still need courage ulit,,,
