Wisdom Tooth Extraction - Thread 2

Tito ko na nagtanggal nung 18,48 ko. Sabi ko nga isabay nya na pati yung natitirang isa sa kaliwa, taas, kaso baka daw mabaliw na ako. Totoo nga! Itong dalawa palang parang gusto ko magtake ng pampatulog para KO ako hanggang magheal sya! Di ako makatulog sa sakit.

Is it possible na yung molar yung bunutin then with the help of braces, eh imo-move yung wisdom tooth in exchange dun sa natanggal na molar?

I can't really remember kung ano yung nirecommend ng dentist ko, pero something like that. Natatakot kasi ako baka mamaya pag binunot yung molar ko, lumubog yung cheeks ko.

I hope you can help me

My wisdom teeth erupted (both lower) when i was around 18-23. I am 26 now. Before masakit sila and talaga i wanted to have them removed, pero walang budget. Now, di naman sumasakit pero i got bothered na kasi parang minsan may na-stu-stuck na food even if i brush thoroughly. Malala sa right side than the left side. Sumu-sungki na teeth ko so sana I can have braces done soon narin. I plan to go to Dr. Uy since unang una highly recommended ng GT, di mahal, magaling, and best of all, 15 minutes away lang from where i live. Takot na takot ako makaramdam ng pain pag nasa byahe pauwi,  baka magblack out pa ako, etc. BTW, yun 2 lower molars ko nakalabas na sila.

So eto mga questions ko and sana someone can answer for me
1. Ilan days yun "rest period"? I know kasi bawal ma-stress, mapagod, etc. My work kasi is freelance pero i work almost everyday, para i can plan when to have it removed so that it will not affect my work that much. Accountable kasi ako sa parents, may mga naka-sched akong meeting, sessions, etc. I handle kids and you know how they are
2. Since 2 silang impacted teeth, ideally, ano yun interval bago bunutin yun isa? I don't want na isabay (although the benefit/side effect na weight loss is interesting, hehe), kasi baka lalo matagal yun healing process and i need to go back to work asap.  No work no pay kami e.
3. Dapat ba may itake na meds prior to the surgery? plan ko kasi mag pa xray then sabay na yun bunot, para 1 day na (i know someone here did this)
4. Soft diet usually diba after- should i plan ahead and prepare na my grocery items? icecream, sopas, mashed po, etc?

1. Usually you need about 3 - 5 days since most of the cases lead to swelling.. You can handle kids
definitely just dont do anything stressful that may cause bleeding (like lifting heavy objects)

2. Ideally about 1-2 months interval. But why do u want to torture yourself to go thru the procedure 2x? You can do it sabay para one time resting, absence, premeds, soft diet, conditioning of yourself.. Not to mention you save the time and effort of both yourself and the dentist (unless a very difficult case)

3. Yup, you need premedications to keep you covered for the procedure ( antibiotics, pain meds, anti hemmorhagic meds)
4. Yup soft diet, Your grocery items would include bread, soup, mashed potato, youghurt and dont forget your favorite ice creamm!

Remember you need good sleep and proper meals before and on the day of the surgery.
Keeping yourself calm and relax will also help. (Studies shows that apprehension and nervousness can lead to excesive bleeding)


For those who are looking for an affordable and good Dentist for surgery, I recommend a hospital based dentist with 20 yrs of experience.. Impactions costs about 6-8k depending on the difficulty.

So ok lang yun both lower 3rd molars bunutin at the same time? Wow, so it looks like i will be getting atleast 1 week leave nadin if ganun. I will notify the secretaries in that case.

regarding premedications- is there a standard prescription for this? or case to case basis? sana i can squeeze a visit/consultation (usually magkano charge pala for consultation? ) before the actual extraction, kasi i've backread and some sisters here had theirs done the same day na all in all

thank you sis for that additional info about excessive bleeding. I just have a follow up question regarding this,pasain akong tao, does that mean na mas malaki chance ko for excessive bleeding?

You're welcome sis. Im glad to help. Consultations charges must be pretty reasonable naman.

I dont think there's a standard prescription but there are common drugs used. I strongly advice premedications ex. Antibiotics - This will help for faster healing + protection for yourself during the surgery. Remember you get an open wound, chances are, the bacteria in the mouth may cause infection. So its best to be covered prior to your impaction procedure. Pain and bleeding control meds are also important..

Regarding sa mga pasain, I dont think its related but one sign of excessive bleeding is matagal tumigil ang pagdudugo pag nasusugatan.. Most oral surgeons require you to submit a Clotting time/bleeding time blood analysis from a laboratory. Mura lang naman yung test. Just to be on the safe side.. Some may also require CBT..

Another tip. Don't go for an extraction/Surgery when you are having your period:)

Ang sakit pa rin ng panga ko hanggang baba area last Wed pa ako nagpatanggal ng wisdom. Normal pa ba to? Tapos na nga antibiotics ko tsaka pain reliever eh. Buti bumili ako ng extrang 4 na cataflam.

meron po ba dito nakapagpa-extract ng wisdom tooth kay dr.uy na ang case po as in nakahiga yung pagtubo ng tooth as seen sa xray (walang naka-expose na part ng tooth, as in covered sya ng gums). around how much po kaya yun pag ganung procedure? im helping out a friend nagtatanung tanong kasi sya ng mga ok at affordable na dental surgeons. glad i read this thread and found out about dr. uy. dami kasi good feedbacks. pa-pm na lang po sana ako if bawal po i-post. tia!

mga sis how much mag pa wisdom tooth extraction sa inyo? I have braces kasi tapos sabi ni dentist yung isang ngipin ko is nakahiga kaya need tanggalin pati  yung isa sa kanan 9K ang quote sa akin. waaaa

Nagpa surgery na ako kanina, left and right lower wisdom teeth. I spent around 10k for all( procedure, xray, meds, soft food stuff, etc)

Mahirap yun case ko since impacted, the doctor had to crack my teeth into smaller pieces. P,us nagakinfection pa yun left ko. Dapat sa sat pa nga ako but since i cannot tolerate the pain anymore, i had my surgery moved to tuesday

One thing i can say, masakit lang naman is yun paglagay ng anaesthesia, and when the anaesthesia is wearing off. Dr. Uy is very sensitive to my reactions, konting pain lang, he will stop and put more anaesthesia.

I was kinda loopy when i got home, ate some soup and icecream, and took meds and sleep. So far may pain padin but not as much nasince i have been taking mefenamic acid every 4 hours.

During the surgery, i kept my eyes closed and there was a time or two na npalpitate ako because i wasso nervous hehe. Sana nga ng anti anxiety drugs ako e, but prescriptin drugs siya e i think

Had my impacted wisdom tooth removed too last Saturday, Dr. Charlston Uy din. He's so nice, I finally knew why he's the most recommended Oral surgeon here in GT. Mine was complicated daw kasi yung tooth is medyo nakadikit na sa nerve so he cracked it into two before pulling it out. Pag nagalaw kasi yung nerve may possibility na ma paresthesia ako.  Nakakanerbyos talaga! I was literally shaking during the injection of anesthesia, medyo na relax ako after pero nung crina-crack na into two, nagpalpitate na naman ako haha! Thank God I was in good hands. He charged me only 5k for the procedure compared sa 8k-12k quote ng first dentist na pinagtanungan ko.

I'm now in the healing process, soft food diet lang muna though nag ri-rice ako konti. I can't help it eh I'm a rice person pa naman and the antibiotics keeps my tummy crazy, gutom ako agad! Well I'm glad tapos na problem ko with it. Just hoping the healing process goes very well.

You can call them, open sila Monday-Sunday, though pag Sunday is for appointment lang. Ok din sana sa December ka magpa surgery, kaso holidays yon sis, madaming handaan, Christmas parties every where, baka di mo ma enjoy ang food hehe. Mahirap kasi kumain after ng surgery, dapat soft diet lang.

Covered ba ng PHILHEALTH ang wisdom teeth (2) extraction?

No. Kahit HMO like medicard, intellicare, etc hindi covered un. Minor surgery na kasi yun. Nabunutan na ko both left and right na wisdom teeth. Nasa 2.5k yung bayad ko each. Ok naman kasi magaan yung kamay nun nagbunot.

I underwent impacted molar teeth (yes, 3) extraction sa PGH  2 years ago. 1500 Php lang siningil sakin at pinabili lang ako ng 2 blade sa quiapo worth 40-60 Php tapos may babayaran kang 30 php ata x 3pcs for xray during consultation and after surgery. Tapos okay na, wala ng gastos. Maganda pa gawa, tsaka guwapo pa yung dentist. tee hee!.

Tiis tiis lang sa pila, pero di naman ganun kalala kasi madami silang mga dentist.

Hi mga sis! in my case i had na my ceramic brace since july last year. Hindi inalis ni dentist both lower wisdom tooth na impacted kasi daw di pa nakalabas , pero right now nag moved na siya at mejo makikita na siya compared last year condition before i got my braces.

Nagbunot din kasi si dentist ko ng 2 tooth sa booth upper and lower ko kasi overcrowding daw condition ko, some tooth are sungki and impacted wisdom tooth as well.

Di naman sumasakit booth lower wisdom tooth ko, but too many food particles na stuck everytime, and since impacted siya, i guess , need talagang alisin.

Any suggestion you have fellow GTalkers?
