Ako kahit piso walang savings.

Isa lang investment ko, townhouse na every month ko binabayaran. Nakakalungkot.

Looking back..

As of today, i am still paying the townhouse i mentioned last 2011.

I now have sunlife vul.
I travel a lot for leisure
I now have a good job
I just got married last Christmas!

Yes, im still paying credit card bills lol
Still dont have savings pero i still have some money on my payroll account

I am happy. I will start saving now. Btw im 28 na! hehe

I am aware that I am suffering from Parkinson's Law, which is the more I earn the more I spend.. hay bad yan. but slowly but surely I am getting through it. Hinde pa liquid yung properties but it does have value so lets say 3M @ 24 y.o but yun lang. No insurance since I work from home and shamed to admit but living from pay check to pay check with a car mortgage. Sa totoo lang ewan ko na totoo nga yang Parkinsons Law nayan, I don't have an earning problem I have a spending problem.

I always understood it to mean that you'll just spend all of
your money.

I've seen this with my former officemate back on my first
job. If he has 1k a week before payday he'll make sure
it would be enough. If he has 500, he'll still make sure
it would be enough.

While logically if he has 1k, he should be able to save
half of that. But he never does.

Di ko alam yung Parkinsons Law. I had to Google it. Interesting! Ganyan yata yung nanay ko dati, kaya my parents were not able to build a nest egg for retirement.

Ako naman sometimes I have a problem spending money. Baliktad. And I get stressed pag hindi nasunod yung savings goal ko for the month dahil may unexpected expense. For example, let's say my monthly savings goal is 20k. Kaso may family member na nangutang, or whatever, and so nabwasan and 15k lang ang mase-save ko this month. Bwisit na bwisit ako.

Technically pwede namang bawiin ko next month, pero ewan ko ba -- as in stressed na stressed ako pag hindi nakaka-save. Ibang sakit na ito. Hahahaha!

^ sis annie m. baliktad tayo ako basta nakuha ko gusto ko wala na ako pake sa savings tapos at the end of the month pag kulang eh nga nga nalang. . Dati 17k lang sahod ko per  month 2013 (married with a kid), I made it work pero may utang pero I made it work. Naging 30k bigla 2014, I made it work but wala ma save kasi spend ng spend tapos ngayon 50k last quarter 2014-now, ganun rin. Marami factors like yung car mortgage nga pero nung nilista ko lahat ng pinag ggastusan ko nalaman ko na pag weekend grabe pala ako gumastos. Or yung mga after work na trips sa mall etc. The thing that can control this is to physically hide the money from me automatically into an account kung hinde hugot lang ako ng hugot.

based on your post, you can actually live naman with 17k to 30k. so i-save mo na yung 20k, automatic.

^ medyo off topic na pero to answer your question  ,, Galing ako sa call center, 17k sahod. Tiniis ko yung for a few years din from 12-17k because I did not know any better. I was "comfortable" with that already na may HMO, benefits etc.  I did knot know that I can push my self, learn and work at other jobs. Until I got acquainted with a few people that transitioned working from home, I work as a virtual assistant sis. Para rin syang business kasi sakin ang gamit, internet etc tapos ako mag hhanap ng clients ko, marami sa odesk/elance, myoutdesk, virtual staff finder, onlinejobs.ph etc etc walang HMO at like any business walang kasiguraduhan kasi its freelance and pag hinde kana nila kaialnangan edi tapos na but its up to you to make sure that you get a constant stream of income -- but that is a whole another topic hehe. anyway, ayun nag jump to 30k with my current skills and then more racket para ma maintain ko ang monthly income,,yung iba kong kasabayan ma medyo mas nauna lang 100k ang income depende rin sa pricing mo.
As I said, I dont have an earning problem kasi napatunayan ko naman sa sarile ko na kaya ko mag earn (and to maintain it )ng mas malaki kung gugustuhin ko tlaga. pero darn it, pag nasakin na pera boom na waldas waldas kaboom.

Mine is P2.2M, 30y.o.  Pero sabi sa calculation of how much I should be worth at this age, dapat daw worth na ko ng P4.5M so it means I'm not managing money as well as I should.  Breadwinner din kasi ako kaya I give my mom 30% of my salary. Hay, ang laki pa ng kelangan kong ipunin!!!

My net worth has increased much but I'm still sad because I'm still 20% lower than what my net worth should be at my age now. I need to double my savings effort this year, especially since I want to retire earlier. Bilib ako dun sa mga 8 digits na and at such a young age!

^^ Thanks sis. Opposite pala tayo. I don't have a savings problem. Kaya kong mabuhay kahit 20% lang yung gagamitin ko for my expenses. But I feel like I have an earning problem(you know, the feeling na kaya mong mag-earn ng mas malaki but di mo ma-achieve?), so now I'm looking for freelance na para naman ma-augment yung income ko kahit papano. Like Annie M., na-ba-badtrip ako pag di ko na-meet yung monthly savings ko.
