agree with you, polymath. tamang balanse is the key to happiness :-) i can't say sobrang matipid din ako (hindi ako mahilig sa damit, sapatos, bags o gadgets, pero madami akong vanity vices...and i love food!!! :-P) pero every payday inuuna ko munang i-"pay" ang sarili ko (via top ups in mfs, bank deposits).

yeah... i think you don't need to "deprive" yourself naman to save...
income - savings (around 20-30% daw but I do 50% since I am still single) = expenses

as long as una yung savings before spending, okay na yun.

yup, may business kami. we also have condos, commercial spaces, houses, investments, savings kaya ganun ang net worth namin. lumakas kasi ang business at nag grow during 2004-2008, instead of spending the earnings, i chose to buy real estate which now gives me monthly income, kaya now na medyo mahina na ang orig business, ok parin bec i have monthly rentals from tenants 

nakaka inspire ka naman sis, magkano net worth mo ng mag start ka sa real estate? at saan ka nagumpisa commecial spaces or houses?
plan ko at 30 y.o may buildings na ako na pinaparenta.

^Uu nga sis, this formula is not good for us who just started kasi multiplied ba naman ng age mo, laki kaya nun and this is true na maachieve mo lang yata to if you are older na or you have been working early and accumulated enough since you are younger.

We just made this our target and by the time we will reach the age of 35 sana maging equal na yung actual and expected net worth namin (by God's grace). Ang hirap din kasi pag walang target.

^i took the risk/plunge. i gave up and spent everything i had to invest on something (business) na alam kong pagkakakitaan ko. buti naging successful naman, after 1 year kumikita na ko. i just feel very blessed. so nag-cascade na lang from there. from my earnings, i would put up another business. ang masasabi ko lang, sa kahit anong negosyo (maliit man o malaki, mapa-lugawan or franchise or whatever), kailangan pag-ingatan and tutukan. and kung hindi man kumita agad, ipagpatuloy pa rin (unless sobrang lugi ka na), then re-assess what needs to be changed/improved. huwag agad susuko.

^sis yena^_^, why not diba? when it comes to business, everyone knows naman na ang kailangan mo lang talaga para maka-umpisa is your capital/resources. since ayaw ko humingi ng pera sa parents ko, inipon ko pa yun for 3 years before ako nag-invest. kayod-kabayo talaga ako sa work ko noon. it wasn't easy money. and mahirap sa umpisa, lalo na when your expenses are over your earnings in the first months (others nga take years!). ang naisip ko naman that time, sayang naman kung di ko pa itutuloy, eh ginastusan ko na ito. so i just continued until my business is earning. and i didn't stop there. i started/bought other businesses para lumago ang pera. i'm content naman na with my businesses as of the moment. kaya worth naman all the sacrifices that i made.

Naka hit na ako dati ng 300k na iscam Ko ng 150k total 450k savings ko dati.. tapos may nangyari sa house nabasawan pa savings ko bukod pa dun sa na scam ako...haist pero na inspire ako dito i will cut some of my luho..ang hindi lang mawawala ay food trips at travel isip ko kasi whatever happens hindi ko naman madadala pera ko sa next life may pera nga hindi naman masaya kakatipid hehe..
Grabe ang gagaling ng iba dito millions kaha gusto ko rin mag resign and mag negosyo na lang pero ayaw pa ni bf pag uwi na lang daw nya.

@ikaela, hindi ako tumuloy pala sa Israel tour, hahaha. So, wala na akong big expense this year... whew! And I was able to hit my goal of 2.5M last year so it's a big YEHEY for me, actually sumobra pa ng around 80K so praise God talaga. I am thinking of upping my goals for this year... but I have to do something na mas priority this year other than money so I guess mababawasan ang earnings konti... di ko sila pwede isabay... haaaay.

@ayka, can I just say... wow! I wish I was earning that fast din... sana in the future. How long before you were able to reach where you are now, if you don't mind me asking... Ang galing talaga.

I'm really thankful for this thread kasi naging conscious kami sa pagcalculate ng net worth namin. When I read this thread last October we started calculating our net worth. My husband just turned 30 this month and I'm happy to say that we're able to increase our net worth by 70% since then. Tracking your net worth really help.

Very inspiring thread! Kasama ba sa assets yung shinare mong pera to buy house & lot? Nagshare ako ng 1.4M para mabili ng father ko yung bahay namin ngayon. Then, I invested in a pre-selling condo worth 2.6M. pero 10% pa lang ang nababayad ko. Tapos 5K pesos na lang laman ng bank account ko kasi naubos nung nag-Eurotrip kami ng highschool barkada ko last year.

About liabilites, dun ako marami! Loan worth 200K php pa(nagloan ako para maibigay yung 1.4M sa father ko), cc around 50K. Ang masaklap nagsara pa yung company namin nung Feb kaya 3 months na ako wala work. Umabot na tuloy sa 40K yung utang ko sa father ko para mabayaran yung last month's due of loan + cc + monthly sa condo. Wake-up call yung nangyari saken plus yung nababasa ko dito sa Girltalk, kaya kapag nagkawork ulit ako mag-iinvest na talaga ko sa stocks, equities etc.

I'm 27yo na pala and not yet married.
