based in Philippines, can still buy airfares from abroad?

Im from NZ and i have a relative that will fly up here next year. is it true na bawal na daw bumili ng tickets from abroad if you're flying from pinas? We are planning kasi na ibili siya ng ticket dito dahil mas nakakatipid, instead na sa pinas siya bibili. May bagong regulations na ba sa pagbili ng tickets abroad?

As far as I know, di naman bawal. My siblings overseas have bought tickets for family members here in the Philippines. If you're buying the tickets online, check the policy of the airline if they allow buying tickets for people who are not traveling with the cardholder.

If you're buying from the airline or travel agent, they would usually give you the booking/record locator. This would have to be quoted to the sales office of the airline in Manila for them to issue the ticket. Just make sure that all the fees are paid na, sometimes kasi when my sister buys tickets, may mga binabayaran pa kami sa airline dito.

My relative asked a travel agent diyan sa pinas and ok naman daw na sa abroad bumili, babayaran lang ang travel tax sa airport.. Naiinis ako sa nagpakalat ng balita na yan dito  alam ko naman na walang logic talaga pero gusto ko lang din makasiguro. ayaw ko naman din kasi na magkaproblema [textspeak!] relative ko sa pag-alis niya.
