infertility, endo-repro ob gyne recommendations

Hi mga sis! May nakapag consult na ba with Dra. Marlyn T. Dee, reproductive endocrinologist in USTH? I was diagnoses with PCOS kasi nung March of 2014, went on to different OB-Gynes from 2014-2016 but apparently, hindi ako naaayon sa mga treatments nila. I have been frustrated since on and off period ko, minsan light-heavy flow. I was prescribed with [textspeak!] pills and metformin but ganon pa rin. May month na meron akong period, meron din wala. Any suggestions?

Chili1113 - gudluck sa IUI mo , i have done 3 IUI but failed kay Dra Aguilar. Yun next step namin is IVF, but ipon pa because can't afford right now.

onlytechgirl: Thank you sis!! How much yung IUI with Dr. Aguilar? Did you have to take fertility pills prior to IUI? Sana mag work sa akin!!! If not, baka mag IVF na kami.

Sa mga sis na balak magpaconsult ke Dra aguilar, she's still on VL and sa January 17 pa daw sya babalik.  No need for appointment basta tawag a day before her schedule para masigurado andun sya on the day. Next Saturday na lang kami pupunta. TTHS: 12-2PM ang sched nya

^pag sat kayo agahan nyo punta kay dra aguilar, since galing siya sa vacation for sure blockbuster na naman. hehe.
yun IUI at HSSG kay dra sa cardinal 10k, procedure lang yun, yun meds hindi included. pero I can say na magaan kamay niya. sa st lukes naman 15k yun IUI, sad to say failed lahat ng IUI ko sa kanya. paguusapan namin yun IVF kaso ipon pa. :-)

^Very reasonable price ng IUI ni Dra. Aguilar! Kasi si Dra. Manalo 25k sa St. Lukes and no meds pa din.

Next cycle ko dapat IUI in Kato... but right now parang pinagiisipan ko kung baka diretso na kami sa IVF.  For my age kasi of 40, masyado mababa ang success rate ng IUI kahit saan pa ako magpagawa  =(

Eggpudding - hi sis not sure sa SA, ako lang kasi may health card, pero depende ata sa coverage ng HMO mo kung cover yun infertility ah.. sakin kasi hindi tapos nun mga sumunod na check up hindi na nacover hehe..
Chili1113 - yup sis, pinagtake muna ako ng femara at yun ovidrel shot then schedule ng IUI. yun first 2 IUI ko sa cardinal nasa 10k, yun meds kasi and fm mga 5k din mahigit. yun pang 3rd ko naman sa st lukes nasa 15k iba pa yun meds. kaso failed eh. 33 y.o na pala ako. sa ngayon advise sakin ni Dra eh magipon for IVF. low count kasi si hubby, yun huli namin nasa 500k lang ata after ma-wash

Ask ko lang sana if musta ang IUI with her and if successful ba? Salamat.

Nakabalik nadin ako kay dr Aguilar... sad to say, parang nadismaya ako sa naging consultation namin. Di ko alam kung dahil sa dati na nya akong patient, at ayaw na nyang irepeat yung mga sinabi nya noon 10 years ago? lols. Naghintay ako sa kanya for like 2hrs, tapos wala pang 5mins tapos na kami. Di ko din alam kung antok ba sya or nag mamadali na. Ang bilis pa nya mag salita. Halos new sakin ulit to kasi ngayon lang ulit ako nag pa address ng PCOS ko. Ayun. Niresetahan nya ko ng Duphaston 10mg, 3x a day for 15 days. Tuwing kelan ba inom ng Duphaston? before or after ng meals?

came back from Kato today. Acoording to Dr. Mendiola I do not have PCOS. =) =)

Dr. Manalo diagnosed me with PCOS. But according to Dr. Mendiola, I don't have enough follicles to be considered PCOS.  My previous OB in my routine checkup 2 years ago also said i don't have PCOS. I still think Dr. Manalo is a good doctor. It is just that my case perhaps is a bit of a borderline case and so it can be easily misdiagnosed.

As for Dr. Aguilar. I went to her once, but I didn't go back na. I didn't feel she was the doctor for me. As for Dr. Manalo, I liked her but she overcharged me for Letrozole. I paid 2k for 10 tablets, which are sold in Kato for only P500. That kinda turned me off. However, I don't regret going to Manalor for a consult.

Hi Sis Chili1113, what brand ng Letrozole nila sa Kato?

^The brand is DRACENAX. Manalo sold me 10 pcs 2.5 mg  for 2000. if I bought it in Kato I would only pay around 500. Exact same brand, exact everything even the packaging.

^Really?? Can non-Kato patient buy sa kanila? That is really low price. Pero yung Dracenax wala na raw sa Mercury sabi nung nakausap ko before.
