My cat hates IAMS! Super good reviews pa naman kaya I bought it. I mix it with her Friskies dry cat food for a few days then Iams all the way na. Ugh! She doesnt like it. She won't even dare smell it. Akala ko eh hirap lang sya mag chew, so I bought her canned food for a month din. Then Friskies went on sale at my local Target so I bought a bag even if very full pa yung Iams nya. The moment I opened the bag, she's all over me purring na. I guess naamoy nya yung "scent". I filled one of her extra bowls and within 30 minutes ubos na nya. Im def gonna return the IAMS cat food pero not sa store where I bought it na, sa mismong Iams factory/office ko na ipapadala.

I also have two persian cats at home I feed them RC ever since. I really love RC persian 30 because it is specifically design for persian cats. RC is much pricey than Iams, friskies and whiskas, but it is worth it.

^ Oh sayang naman. IAMS is one of the good cat food brands pa naman. My cats on the other hand, love IAMS! Super takaw sila dito.

I posted a question in another thread. This is about cat bite.
My cat bit me while she was very mad at our dog. This happened last Thursday. I went to the doctor right away at binigyan din ako ng anit tetanus at Verorab. Buti covered ng health card namin kaso first shot lang. Yung succeeding shots hindi na. Eh 2000+ yung vaccine. I am not sure kung itutuloy ko pa yung next shots since ilan beses na din naman ako nakakagat ng pusa namin pero wala naman nangyayari. Last thursday lang yung malala yung kagat nya kasi galit na galit sya sa aso namin. So far, 3days na pero wala pa din naman nagbabago sa behavior ng pusa namin. Di naman sya lumalabas ng bahay kaya I am sure na wala naman syang ibang sakit. Tsaka yung wounds ko pagaling na din. What do you think?

I had my cat spayed last month and I noticed that she's really matakaw na. Parang hindi na nabubusog. Whenever I let her out of the cage, all she does is ask for food. Ganito ba talaga ang mga spayed cats?? What's the best thing to do about this??

I got bitten din before while our cat was still a kitten as in teeth marks and dugo all over. I researched on this sobra-sobra kasi takot ako sa rabies. sabi sa internet wala namang rabies ang pusa, or my kitten would have died days after I rescued him eh mga 4 months na siya sa amin non. Unless your cat is left outdoors, wala namang cause of worry.

Cat bites acan cause infection nga lang that's what you need to worry about. Also, updated ba shots nung pusa mo? Pero if I were in your position I would finish the shots for your peace of mind. Ako kasi hindi in-offerena ng shots eh.

All our 9 cats are spayed and neutered and we noticed na medyo nag fill up sila but only one cat is super matakaw. She's so fat right now that we have to control her eating na. Controlled portions na sya and every time we give them breakfast we have to watch her otherwise kinakain din nya yung sa iba. And when she asks for food which is maya-maya we limit her intake to 4 to 5 pellets lang at lunch and dinner just to satisfy her hunger. Kakaawa nga but it's for her own good din naman.

^ Tnx for sharing!    We try to control her food intake but she just keeps on asking. I initially didn't expect spayed cats to be this way. Since my other cat, also spayed, isn't too matakaw naman. Anyway, I guess I just have to be firm on the amount of food she eats. The vet already warned me the problems of obesity. Mahirap na.

re: rabies, cats must be vaccinated for it, not just dogs.i have a 4 month old female ragdoll and we will be bringing her to Phils. and unfortunately hindi pa rabies-free ang Pinas so it's a MUST that she gets it...even though she is a totally indoor cat.also, never let your pet cat outdoors...all the vaccinations they received magiging walang bisa.never feed a cat uncooked meat/fish/rodents (kung nakakahuli sila) kasi these things are ripe with microbes and viruses not good for out kitties
My cat "bites" us playfully but never to the point of bleeding.
As I had cats since I was young, am not afraid of toxoplasmosis from her poop (I'm pregnant btw-7 months!); I wear masks and thick gloves when I clean her litter/wash her butt after she does the deed (I let her sleep on my bed and on the couch so very important na she is clean all the time! sometimes i have to wash her 2 x a day) Ayaw din niya kasi linisin sarili niya pag alam niya madumi siya down there..things tend to get stuck on her fur on her butt area kasi....so feeling mommy talaga ako sa kanya....

As for food we feed her 3 x daily on wet food alone and she prefers Fancy Feast(3 cans/day). After we introduced wet food kasi ayaw na niya kumain ng dry food (we originally planned 50-50 wet/dry pero snub na niya now all forms of dry food).we tried her on other "scientifically" balanced diets pero ayaw...sabi ng vet must be the taste...di raw kasi masarap?to cats anyway.

We've been trying to find a male ragdoll din for her para sana makapag-breed pero no luck yet...kaya we're not having her spayed.
Anyone knows a ragdoll owner na purebreed in Manila? Eto nga pala siya...

Re: cat rabies. I am almost done with the rabies shots. Nilagyan din pala ko ng anti-tetanus shot after ako makagat.  We never let our cat go out kaya I think she's safe naman.

^ happy to hear that! pag multiple pet household kayo dapat talaga may rabies vaccine lahat ng pets and make sure they don't come in contact with strays/rats, even if they are all indoor pets.
I just had my cat microchipped  ; even if she's purely an indoor cat, requirement po ito in preparation for Aussie travel.Sad to say maqu-quarantine siya ng 30 days even if she's vaccinated and all.Wala na akong magagawa with that...comply na lang sa rules para maayos.
I tried feeing her pala with a grocery brand ( Purina Fancy Feast  Chicken/Turkey flavored) dry food and so far she eats it naman na!Pero she's still a wet food type of cat...I only put this in her bowl if I'm going out during lunch hour/afternoons.
I believe kahit magastusan tayo as pet owners it's worth it kasi healthier for the kitties in the long run...

my sister has a 3-month old ragdoll and super happy siya kasi ang bait at di nangangalmot 

where can we buy a carrier na cheap? namamahalan kasi siya sa tiende and sa mall/hardware stores.

my hubby got bitten by our cat when she was giving birth. sa sobrang gigil nya dun sa first kitten na lumalabas, nakagat nya hubby ko while he's watching her. malalim yung bite kaya dumugo. complete naman ang shots ni Sumi and she never goes out of the house kaya we're not worried of rabies. we just put betadine on the wound and let it bleed para mawala yung whatever bacteria na pumasok. medyo namaga lang for a few days pero gumaling rin eventually.

i haven't have a pet for the longest time. last sunday, i was given a persian cat, and now i am buying more stuffs for her than for me.

it is so addicting

@ btrcup-nice one! is your sister's ragdoll certified purebred? we're looking for a male parnter for our ragdoll too.so far we haven't been successful.we had to look around for her for 5 months! maybe you can refer us to the one where your sis got the ragdoll from...

ragdolls are naturally sweet natured...they behave like dogs mostly...follow you around, hate closed doors and just love you completely.when we first got our ragdoll,she was mostly white but now the darker colorings or "points" are starting to show (she's now 5 months) she has darker coloration on the eyes,tail,ears but that's it....

i brought her for grooming sa pet express in moa. they found ear mites on her. hay nagpanic ako. like a mommy to her baby. hays! now, i'd have to treat her ear mites.
as a treat i got her a new carrier. i also tried feeding her with princess. she liked it better than wiskas. hahaha! favorable sa akin cos it's cheaper.

^ same happenned to me with a previous cat I owned.May ear mites! Pero itong ragdoll ko wala...super linis.Anyway pabaya kasi yung previous owner (Brits) kaya when I got her-imagine my vet bills and groomer's bills! Sobrang matted yung fur nung Himalayan ko I had to have her shaved (ala-poodle/lion cut).so ingat na ako sa ragdoll ko...

Ask your vet for an ear solution that you yourself can do at home.It will cost you now pero in the long run mas tipid din.Pati flea/tick drops you yourself can do it at home rin (usually ang di ko lang kaya gawin eh magpalunok ng tablet for deworming).I shower my cat once a week at least, then brush her teeth, then trim her nails at least 2x a month (right after shower is a good time for my cat).Most of the time I groom her myself-using a rubber brush called zoom groom.try it on your cat-parang massager brush din siya.My cat dislikes the fine metal toothed comb/brush eh.

metikulosa ako kasi I let her sleep on my bed...pero anyway hindi naman mauubos ang cat hair talaga!
