^ argh! Anong klaseng mga tao yan?! Nakakainis! Naturingan mga professional, pero parang walang pinag-aralan. Sila may atraso, sila pa nananakot. Anong kinalaman ng mga kamag-anak nila sa BIR etc sa kagat ng aso nila? Only shows they knew they were in the wrong at ayaw managot.

Good thing you didnt backdown. 2 yrs is a longtime legal battle and I hope everything will turnout ok for you, sis. Sana eventually mawala trauma mo. Hugs for you.

REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9482  Anti-Rabies Act of 2007

Sec. 5. Responsibilities of Pet Owner. - All Pet Owners shall be required to:

(a) Have their Dog regularly vaccinated against Rabies and maintain a registration card which shall contain all vaccinations conducted on their Dog, for accurate record purposes.

(b) Submit their Dogs for mandatory registration.

(c) Maintain control over their Dog and not allow it to roam the streets or any Public Place without a leash.

(d) Be a responsible Owner by providing their Dog with proper grooming, adequate food and clean shelter.

(e) Within twenty-four (24) hours, report immediately any Dog biting incident to the Concerned Officials for investigation or for any appropriate action and place such Dog under observation by a government or private veterinarian.

(f) Assist the Dog bite victim immediately and shoulder the medical expenses incurred and other incidental expenses relative to the victims injuries.

question mga sisses... nakagat kc ako ng shih tzu ng neighbor namin, hindi naman dumugo pero nag decide din ako pa-inject kc cover naman ng health card.. so I went to St. Lukes QC ER, super mahal, Day 0 - 3 shots = 4k+ na charge sa card... so may Day 3,7,14 and 28 pa... hindi ako natatakot sa babayaran kc sagot naman ng card.... kaya lang ang fear ko ngayon.. ilang shots pa ba ang meron? like sa Day 3? ilang shots? kc kapag naiisip ko na 3 shots ulet.... natatakot na ko... ang sakit sakit pa rin kc ng braso ko for the 3 shots last tuesday.. tapos bukas inject na naman...

^alam ko sis you'll need to complete the whole schedule to be completely immunized, yun sabi sa amin ng pedia ng kid ko. so my kid had (and suffered) the whole 5 injections. the last 3 injections super hirap na habulan na talaga. buti na lang patagal ng patagal naman ang pagitan.

actually, if you talk with vets, mas hindi sila agad-agad nagre-recommend ng anti-rabies injections para sa nakagat, esp if the dog is updated in his anti-rabies vaccines, is an indoor dog who has no contact with other dogs outside, etc. of course iba ang sagot nila if the dog is stray, lives outside, hindi nakatali/nakakulong, gumagala...

but they also say it's the call of the doctor for the human kasi human yung nakagat. 

i'm really praying for a rabies-free philippines. nakakainis sa bansa kasi natin marami pa ding irresponsible dog and cat owners... libre na nga ang pagbabakuna hindi pa gawin. instead kasi na voluntary yun, dapat gawin na mandatory ang pagbabakuna sa mga aso pati na din yung bawal pagalain ang alaga mong aso... hayzzz...

@twelve5: Thanks. We're just waiting for the resolution. Ganun talaga eh. May mga taong akala mo eh hawak na nila ang mundo dahil lang mayaman sila.  I'm glad dahil nabigyan ko din sila ng isang katutak na sakit ng ulo. 

@miaka: Korek. Di talaga pwede isisi sa aso o sa ibang tao yung dapat eh responsibilidad natin.

@dhadha18 need pa rin ng vaccine kahit kalmot lang , meron sila level jan ng pag vaccine, pag kalmot lang at walang dugo anti rabbies lang no need for erig sa pagkakaalam ko po , better still check with your doctor:)

my younger brother (maliit pa) was clawed and bitten by our cat kasi hinawakan niya while the cat was startled (ayaw kasi lumabas sa car galing vet) -- P9,000 yung anti-rabies pero good for ilang years na siya

yung older brother ko din (late 20's), nakagat din pero different cat, P50,000 naman sa st. lukes ang anti rabies

all our cats had anti-rabies na pero si mommy syempre praning

Iba temperament ng cats maski domesticated na sila. My tita owned a tabby, parating lumalapit sakin yun para himasin sya when i visit them. One time she tried to bite me kasi napagod na ako kakahimas. 

Buti i was able to pull my hand fast enough and hindi ako inabot. Wala akong 50k pang anti rabies. Hehe

OMG 50k???!!! grabe buti ako 4k+ lang ang Day 0, then 3k+ each yong Day 3 and Day 7 and yong last 2 shots  ko daw mga ganon din 3k+ each. sa St. Lukes QC Emergency Room ako.. nagulat ako sa 50k.... sakin di pa aabotin ng 20k, P1,130 pa ang ER fee ko..

masakit talaga sa bulsa ang Dog bite... whew! buti na lang covered ng Intellicare! hehe..

Pansin ko [textspeak!] sa mga privy hospitals hrig [textspeak!] available at sa san lazaro [textspeak!] available yung erig which has the needed skin test pa. masakit yun. pero for my 3 y/o ok na yung hrig. at least lesser ang sakit nya.

I was accidentally bitten by our pet dog. May pinpoint bleeding lang pero my hubby insisted that I get the anti-rabies shots.  We went to st.lukes global e.r. and low and behold, almost 50k for the medicines alone. Wala pa e.r. fee don. Anti-tetanus and rabies vaccine yon. So we decided na lang to go to RITM the next day since we also live in the south. We went today and got the shots. I only spent 1400 for day 0 shots. Will have to go back for 2 more shots if okay yung dog namin pero if the dog dies daw within 14 days I have to go back for 3 more shots plus ipapalab yung head ng dog.

Grabe 50k sa st lukes? Ginto ba ang tinuturok nila or panturok? Kaloka naman. Ako din nakalmot ng puppy ko just last week. Sabi nga ng parents ko wag na daw ako pa-inject pero shempre natakot naman ako so go na, to be safe din. Yung first vaccines inabot ng 5k. Buti sagot ng hmo. Yung day 3 onwards almost 2k and hindi na covered. Actually they asked me if i still want to go to RITM instead para mas mura kaso hassle naman mag-half day pa ko from work so dun ko na tinuloy. Kumpletuhin ko na din para next time (wag naman sana) booster na lang.

@skylar-ddm: mamatay man or not yung dog, you have to go back sa ritm for four more shots(day 3 and 7), 2shots each day. If the dog dies within 14days, you have to go back sa hospital for your last dose:) kung hindi mamatay yung dog within 14days tapos makumpleto mo yung 3doses mo which is today, after 3 days and after 7days counted as complete na yung anti rabies vaccine mo.

base sa alam kong protocol, ID(both deltoids, 4x) or IM(1 deltoid, 5x) route, once buhay yung dog within 14 days, counted as complete na yung third dose which is the day 7. If kumpleto yung 3 doses then makagat ulit, booster na lang basta may proof ka na nakakumpleto ka ng 3 doses ng anti rabies.  As far as I know, IM route ang ginagamit ng private hospitals kaya mas mahal sakanila. Health Centers, ABC, RITM and San Lazaro, ID route kasi may makakahati ka sa gamot.

Question uli. What if in the course of your anti-rabies treatment eh nakagat ka uli. Daplis lang pero dumugo. Nasa 4th shot na yung pinsan ko and sa thurs dapat yung last vaccination. Does he have to go to the doctor/abc uli to restart his vaccination? Siguro naman hindi na no? Hirap sa puppy namin magaslaw maglaro. Playbiting pa. Parang kelangan ko sya bigyan ng playmate. Hay

Halos maloka ko sa Mom ko. Nakagat nung dog namin habang nagkukulitan sila. My dog is up to date with her shots pero yung Mom ko gusto magpa anti rabies shots. Ang mahal kaya, hindi naman necessary. Facts according my readings around the web:

1. You can only get rabies if the dog/cat was bitten by an animal with rabies. This is how rabies is transferred. You WILL KNOW by observing your dog/cat if it has rabies.
2. There's little probability for an indoor pet to get rabies if it has up to date rabies shots.
