Tama! ^^ The more na bumibili ka, the more waste na nagagawa. Kasi you stop using other items. Either na stuck lang siya sa closet tapos pag expire na hindi na magagamit or hindi na uso.

One things na nabasa ko ngayon is Upcycling. Yung iba kasi ang tingin nila sa recycling is plain reusing something for a lesser purpose. Upcycling aims to do more. You re-use something by giving it a higher purpose.

Tipong, magre-recycle - reuse ka nga ng box, paglalagyan mo lang naman ng nakatagong damit.
Upcycling, medyo may dress-up na kailangan para magkaroon ka ulit ng attachment dun sa bagay.

me too i want to help the environment. kelangan na talaga para sa next generation.

-kami sa house we segregate the trash sa sako na lang namin nilalagay. then yung basurahan hinuhugasan na lang everyday. 3 sako. para sa nabubulok, hindi nabubulok, at para sa diapers/napkins. yun kasi instruction nung garbage collector sa amin.

-pagka patay ng appliances, diretsong unplug na din sa outlet.

-gamit namin CFL bulbs and as much as possible ginagamit namin ang daylight. nag iilaw lang pag kelangan talaga.

-started using organic biodegradable products.

ano ba mga sis magandang brands na di masyadong expensive? may iba pa ba aside from messy bessy?

Im starting na din, nagsegregate na din ako sa bahay. and yun mga old papers ginawa ko na lang paper bags. i think i can make money out of junk. Hindi na din ako gumagamit ng plastics, bought a shopping bag. and i started using organic products too..
and im looking for  an environmentalist organization gusto ko maging involved may alam ba kayo sissies?..

masarap mag segregate ng waste kasi you would really see immediately na konti na lang yung for disposal mo. also, magkakapera ka pa pag binenta mo sa mga nagkakariton di ba?

as much as possible i use less plastic. when buying little things na pede naman ilagay sa bag i forgo the plastic bags from the stores/shop. if all of us would do this malamang mabawasan ang usage of plastic.

sana cosmetic shops would use refillable bottles na lang. tapos they would provide discount to those you bring in their bottles during their purchases. maybe it would encourage the buying consumers to re-use their used bottles.

sana magkaroon ng project ang government nnatin na sa bawat baranggay may post na bumibili ng mga ganyan ang hirap kasing magtambak sa house dahil dadagain at iipisin ka and hindi lang yun most of the houses now are so small na you can't afford na magcollect ng mga ganyan.

I really love this thread I'm about to have my own home with my future hubby and this is exactly what I want, an eco-friendly home.

I really plan to do the ff for my home:
1. Purchase ONLY the essentials. No junk foods, unnecessary toiletries
2. Limit use of Aircon by purchasing Aircon Timer with power on delay
3. Turn off lights when not in use.
4. Annual maintenance of the house to check for leaks in the tubing and other wasteful problems
5. Limit use of the car. Commute if possible.

Yup kailangan talaga gugustuhin kahit kumpleto ka with the energy saving gadgets, if hindi naman gusto, sayang din. Kailangan talaga na eco-friendly mindset ang buong pamilya.

we do segregation din sa bahay, yung anak ko at yung yaya nya ang nagbenta nung mga plastic bottles na nacollect namin... isang sako, 6 pesos lang binili... hehe... ang tagal namin yun inipon at inimis ng husto. ngayon tuloy ayaw na nila magbenta.

but we still segregate our waste, tapos ang ginagawa ko na lang... everyday nilalabas ko na rin yung mga plastic bottles kung meron man dun sa basurahan ng municipality na pinagtatapunan ko ng iba pa naming basura (nabubulok, residual waste, etc)... para sa mga garbage collectors (yung mga nangangalakal), help na lang daw namin sa kanila para madagdagan ang makukuha nila at the same time di na sila masyado mahihirapan kasi nakabukod na yung mga plastic bottles, kita agad nila.

ok lang, kasi yun lang yung mga batang pumunta sa mga bahay para mamili ng mga bote, plastic, etc.

kaya nga nilalabas at binibigay na lang namin sa kanila whenever we have para di na namin intindihin ang pagiipon... ganun na rin yun, wala nga lang kami 6 pesos... hehe

oo, lahat kami sa bahay involved sa advocacy na makabawas ng waste... we are also contemplating na mag composting... pinagaaralan pa namin ng asawa ko kung feasible.

I consider myself lucky dahil everyone in the household as well as family and relatives agree on eco-friendly living at least on certain levels. Been conscious about environment-friendly living since I was a teen (a long time ago ).

What came of it: parang buhay probinsya, but better.

I have a relatively small house on a big lot. Less maintenance costs and taxes. Less space for abubot and basura din. I had it built in such a way that it brings in lots of natural light and air. Lights are either CFLs or LED. Same with the tv, LED din. Bathroom fixtures are water efficient. Solar power installed for the house and outdoor lighting. Just enough para may umaandar na basic appliances pa rin kahit may power failure.

Rigged my downspouts in such a way na naiipon ang tubig sa cisterns which can be used for watering plants or general utility.

We also minimize buying refined food. The fresher yung food, the better, both for health and pocket.

Since malawak ang lot, I assigned a portion for vegetables, space for fruit trees, composting, even space for a chicken coop lol. So now we got our own veggies, fruits, eggs, and poultry. Exchange kami ng mga kamag-anak sa produce. Mas konti na ang bibilhin sa markets. If I have to go to the market/supermarket I bring an old backpack and two bags made of waterlilies. Super tibay and unique.

^ hehe, thanks sis. medyo pricey nga ang solar power, but it's an investment that will save you more money in the long run. Presko nga sa bahay but I still have a/c's. Mainit talaga sa pilipinas lalo kapag summer eh hehe. But our a/c usage is less compared with the average metro manila household, i think.

ako i plant talaga. kahit hindi trees, sa bakuran lang namin, i have mint leaves saka basil and they keep on growing, so pinamimigay ko sa kapitbahay para they have plants din.

Honetly, I've been not so kind to mother earth lately, I keep on using styros and plastic cups and condiments for some reasons, and one is convenience.

But I never stop thinking what I am contributing to our environment. It's like conscience working double time on me.

So as much as possible I still do other things that can help. Like I told my mother to lessen the use of diapers for my niece. And teach her to use the toilet at a young age instead.

And for me, I always make sure I keep the disposable bottles in our home and give it to magbobote. It's a religious thing that our home, we collect the recyclables and give it to someone who can make money out of it.

Soon I will buy my food box and condiments so I wont be using the disposables anymore. 

I wish everyone can do their part to help conserve our only living planet.

I really want to start living this eco-friendly lifestyle kaya I'm now looking into eco-friendly appliances and power savers now. So far, I only have yung power saver for my refrigerator. I want to explore other power savers so that it's more environment friendly
