^did you check google na re: elections? ultimo PR dito pahirapan rin makakuha. they base your PR application on your salary. hindi na tulad ng dati na halos pinamimigay nalang nila ang PR status fyi lang if you're planning to apply for PR. meron iba PR na nagrenew lang rejected pa, no choice kundi umuwi ng pinas.

aww...so that means kahit S pass ka pa and below $2500 salary mo theres a big possibility na ma deny ka? oh nooo... i always believe na kung hindi para sa iyo kahit anong try mo hindi talaga mapasaiyo, like for example when i was in israel pa daming nag aapply going to canada lahat puro professionals pero denied lahat sa visa tas ang isang applicant vocational course lang yata pero iyon pa nagka visa... kaya hindi talaga pareho ang swerti ng tao ano...'

correct ko lang pala iyong professionals what i meant to say is mga bachelors degree sila pero ang nabigyan ng visa is iyong vocational course natapos...'

^pahirapan talaga dito nowadays contrary to what people used to think na madali lang makapasok yun. times have really changed ika nga ng auntie ko. and fyi they don't base it on your course, they base it on your profession and SALARY bracket. ika nga ni lee kuan yew ang mga foreigners dito hangin lang ang nakukuha sa bansang to technically, so they might as well pick those that can benefit the country...

ahh kaya nga siguro hindi na bumalik pa diyan 2nd cousin ng father ko kahit tinatawagan pa sia ng company, she's an RN and nag work diyan for 2 years, now nag rereview sia for IELTS dunno if UK or NZ sia mag aapply...'

Hello mga mars...super dami ko natutunan dito sa thread na ito about singapore. Will be there on vacation sa January 14-17 via ceb pac promo airfare. wil lbe staying at my friend's house. so ang pinag iipunan ko na lang is..yep.. SHOPPING! ^_^

4. Where to eat? gusto ko kasi authentic SG food hehe...

2. Bossini Hang ten Giordano shirts : mga how much kaya yung average price sa tshirts at tshirts with collar? --- mga round neck/vneck nila meron mga $15 tapos ang collared siguro nasa $25 sis.. pero super murang shirt sya dito..

3. Sentosa: 72SGD yung entrance fee right? anu2 pa yungmga must see (and their respective rates) doon sa loob? ---- Universal Studios ang $72 SGD pag weekend.. Weekday $66..

Sentosa is an island of attractions where Universal Studios is located. But there are quite a number of things to do at sentosa.. there's megazip, underwaterworld, butterfly park, dolphin lagoon, etc..

fast paced ba ang lifestyle diyan sa SG like dito sa Manila?

nasstress kasi ako dito masyado. tsaka ang dumi dumi. parang hindi okay magpamilya.

^ fast-paced, lahat ng tao busy kaya kahit 35 & above years old, single pa rin. no biggie sa kanila ang single kahit may edad na, satin lang naman ma-pressure when it comes to age & still single. kahit fast-paced ang buhay, IMO, mas ok mamuhay dun -- clean, people are organized, maayos ang transport system, almost crime free.

^IMO, sa city (orchard area) lang malinis, go outside orchard and you'll see the real face of Singapore And organized? sorry pero I really beg to differ. sa dami ng mga china people dito and knowing how barbaric these people can get, organized doesn't really exist in their vocabulary. kung organized nga talaga dito eh di sana hindi na nagcacampaign ang gov't for people to "give up their seats" for elderly,disabled or pregnant women. as for crime naman, meron ring crime dito hindi lang masyado nahihighlight, try to google yung nasaksak sa east and yung sa ang mo kio and you'll have an idea on what I'm talking about.

and i want to emphasize as well na di hamak na mas hospitable & COURTEOUS parin ang mga pinoy. hindi kailangan ng RP gov't to campaign about simple courtesy just for people to be courteous enough. manners wise, di hamak na mas magagalang ang mga bata satin, dito makikita mo na ang lalaki na ng mga bata, tipong mukhang 4-5years old pero naka stroller pa rin, kahit sa condo ng auntie ko where i used to stay normal na sakin marinig na merong batang nangaaway ng mga yaya nila. nakakaawa lang kasi sila pa ang pagagalitan ng amo nila.

now, that's the side of singapore na hindi alam ng karamihan. mas okay pa rin sa pinas kung ako papipiliin. mas gusto ko lumaki ang magiging anak ko in a place where simple manners are strictly imposed specially to kids. kung hindi lang mahirap magipon satin me & my husband will go back without batting an eyelash.

^ as i've mentioned, that's how I see Singapore.. that's how I experienced living there & comparing to all other countries I've lived & been to -- Italy, France, Germany, India, Pakistan, Thailand.

as for bringing up kids: nasa pagpapalaki ng magulang yan. i'm not gonna touch on that subject as that's the parents' way on how to teach them good manners.

as for crime & cleanliness: as i've said almost crime free. hindi bulgarang ibinabalita gaya ng sa Pinas. itinatago ng gobyerno. di hamak naman na mas malinis at di gaanong polluted dyan, just compare it here in Manila.

 I find people in Singapore more courteous. let's just say, someone's gonna cross the street, the drivers give way, inaantay kang makatawid at kapag alam nilang tatawid ka kahit malayo ka pa, hihintayin ka talaga. bihira lang din ang busina. sa MRT at LRT, kumpara dito, di ka na halos makalabas dahil ang mga tao, di nagbibigayan sa daan, tulakan na, siksikan pa, tatarayan ka pa!

ofcourse, nothing beats the Filipinos when it comes to hospitality. i just stated the nice experiences & observations in the short time i've lived in SG. i'm focusing on the good ones -- leave the negative ones behind ;p

i remember way back 2002, when me, my sister and tita went to SG, we were inside the train and a chinese/singaporean woman with kid asked my tita about our nationality and my tita said we are filipinos, the kid (around 4 or 5 years old) immediately said "oh you are slaves." sabi na lang ng tita ko, "no we're not, we are actually on vacation." Sabay smile.

I agree nasa pagpapalaki na din siguro ng parents yun. hindi naman siguro lahat ganon. Nagkataon lang na yung mga naencounter ng iba are the bad ones (bad talaga noh? Hehe!)

Yung mga napuntahan namen that time malinis naman although hindi ko na maalala yung ano ano yun, orchard lang talaga nareremember ko kasi ang ganda, fully decorated na kasi christmas season na that time.

As for buses naman, yes organized din, IMO. Ginagamit talaga nila bus stops nila, tapos may oras pa kung what time darating yung next bus unlike here sa pinas, kung saan saan lang tumitigil tapos napakatagal pa before umalis.

Can't wait to experience SG for the second time. Wala kasi ako pakialam nung nagpunta kami, hehe! Natuwa lang ako sa food

^^oo nga wag ka rin masyadong nega kaya nga sinabi ko in my opinion. just because i gave a further view of how singapore really is, outside the city proper, away from all those tourists sposts etc doesn't mean i'm being negative already nothing is flawless in this world.

as for cleanliness, it was even mentioned na may sis tayo dito na na-food poisoning. hygiene/sanitation, definitely pinas parin. like i said lumabas ka ng orchard and eto mapapansin mo. i live in the east which is outside the city area kaya nabanggit ko to. cleanliness wise when it comes to environment of course malinis hangin dito, d naman siguro gagastos ng millions of pesos ang gov't just to maintain singapore's greenery as for the road courtesy, people might be following the stoplights here but of course this place won't be called "fine city" for nothing. chikahin mo ang mga taxi drivers and they will say the same thing. it just shows na effective ang ginawa ni senior PM lee kuan yew. as for tulakan, meron rin po nyan dito specially rush hour and i don't think mawawala yan when was the last time you lived here? baka during that time hindi pa ganun kadami ang influx ng mga taga china.

^^yung sa pagpapalaki sis, aside from that, environment rin ng bata. and singit ko narin, sa taas ng cost of living dito kung basic salary holder ka lang medyo challenge cya if you have a family dito mismo.

re: food, next visit mo sis timingan mo food expos/food safari sa suntec or singapore expo, super mura ng food. specially pag paclosing na sila

at least sa manila kapag natulak ka mag so-sorry sau.. dito matapakan ka or what never silang mag sorry sayo.. pero mas mabilis ang justice system dito compare saten..

marami pang pros and cons.. but theres really no place like home..

kung hinde lang financially ok ang sweldo dito mas ok pa sa atin.. sabi ko nga there's no place like home..

hirap magpalaki ng bata dito.. my work is sa secondary and primary schools kapag nakapasok ka sa school hinde mo maiwasan na ang magiging anak mo is ma impluwensyahan ng iba..

^sinabi mo pa sis. imagine buntis na nga ako, kanina at the bus stop binangga ako ng muslim auntie, then nung uupo na kami ni hubby, e naunahan nya si hubby pumasok so what i did is umupo ako sa first chair which i didn't mind kasi sa likod meron pa and she insisted on sitting on my place! bwisit talaga  e sinenyasan ako ni hubby na hayaan ko na pero nung lumipat ako ng place nainis rin pala cya kasi he saw na binangga ako.

that's another complain i get from my aunts, kaya pag may oras ako tulong talaga kami ni hubby magbantay ng mga kids. kasi ayaw rin nila na lumaki entirely sa yaya ang bata, better na meron kainteraction na relative atleast nababantayan pa rin kahit papano.

speaking of justice system, sa mga crime mabilis ata sis. yung sa pasir ris na pinatay nahatulan ng death penalty. pero pag related sa iba like health, ang tagal din... atleast 6-9mos ang investigation. may nabasa kasi ako na-CS ng walang anaesthesia (OUCH super! ) sa Mt. A then nagreklamo cya sa singapore medical board ba yun, 6-9mos ang investigation process. kawawa super yung mom...

i remember nung buntis ako meron chances na hirap ako makaupo sa bus and train.. may mga ilang instances na hindi ako nakakaupo kahit sa bus na 45mins ang byahe mahal kasi mag taxi ng rush hour..

pero syempre pera pera muna para sa future namin kaya i like SG na din SG made our life more bountiful

^yan ang isang kinabwibwisitan ko dito sis, kebs talaga ang mga tao dito. ibang level pero yung mga taxi drivers dito wala akong masabi mababait karamihan, may mga nasakyan ako nakapangasawa pa ng pinay and yung isa marunong mag ilokano ng konti, kakatuwa tinuturuan daw cya ng wife nya. pero yung mga kids nasa pinas daw for school kasi mas mura and same sentiments as sis Clarisa na rin, environment rin ng bata. umuuwi sila from time to time & will be retiring sa pinas next year dahil daw sa mga beach

btw ang elections daw dito before feb 2012 pa. nakupo... wag naman sana maghigpit pa masyado
