sissies around what age na ba yung tinatanggap sa grade 1 ngayon? my daughter is turning 5 on august, pero sa june pa lang sya papasok as kinder. by june next year 5.10yo sya, tatanggapin na kaya sya as grade 1 kahit di pa sya 6yo?

^ sis sa public school di nag-aaccept pag wala pang 6 y.o, pero sa private school nag-aaccept sila as long as nagkinder at pasa sa assestment test nila. mag 6 y.o pa lang din yung bunso ko sa july pero incoming grade 1 na rin sya.

sis ang cutoff ng age for grade 1 is dapat 6 years old by November 31 ata.. not sure if October 31 or November. so pasok na sya next year..

can you please give me some feedback on CGF Academy of Learning and Leadership?

we went here last Friday and my daughter passed the assessment test for grade 1. what i like about them is their low student-teacher ratio and their medium for teaching is English. also, i learned that their curriculum is traditional and progressive as what one of the teacher told me and they don't give lots of homework to students. can you please share your experiences with this school? like how's their teachings, how are the teachers, and etc. hope you could help me. thank you!

I have 2 nephews in lsgh. 1 in 1st yr hs and the other 1 is grade 3 yata. Na-sad lang ako sa sinabi ng ate ko. Mga teachers daw dun, nababribe. Sagana daw sa gifts. Yung iba trips abroad pa daw. kaya pala kapag nasa pinas ako naririnig ko minsan kelangan bumili ng gifts sa teachers. Sabi ko bakit di na lang iexpose, kasi im sure hindi naman papayag school sa mga ganong teachers. Yung SIL ko nagregalo na daw yun ng ipod shuffle. Sana may maglakas ng loob na mag expose sa mga teachers na yun. Nakakainit ng dugo!  preggy kasi ako ngayon and napapag usapan namin ang options namin sa paghanap ng school. Mukhang isang malaking X na lsgh sa akin kung baby boy to.

Im speaking based on our experience. Siguro kung hindi problematic ang anak mo, e saved ka na sa expenses ng pagbili ng gifts. Pero kawawa rin ang bata kung pumapasa lang dahil nabribe ang teacher, parang kulang natutunan.

Some schools were strict with age requirement. My daughter is only 5.8yo by june. Pero natanggap naman sya as grade 1 sa OB and St Scho. Even Sa St Paul makati, ok sya for gr1

Hi mommies
My son's birthday is november 6, would you know if Ateneo will still consider him for grade 1?
It says in their website that the child must be 6 years old by October 30. Are they really strict with age?
I heard that some schools reconsider...like they give additional exams to asses the emotional capability of the child.

^ Ateneo is really strict with the age requirement.

Is your son turning 6 this year?  Tapos na kasi ang enrollment for grade 1 for the incoming school year as early as December.  Thus, I suggest that you prepare him for admission to grade 1 in school year 2014-2015.   By July/August, applications will be open for the entrance exam.

@marose17 nope, he'll be turning 6 pa naman november 6 next year.
Pero kasi this year is the entrance exams, so I just want to know if Ateneo will still allow my son to take the exam. Will they reconsider if they will see in the results of the exam that my son can handle it?

^ I think it's better if you call the Registrar's office to ask.  As far as I know, wala talaga silang exceptions sa age requirement and if your son's birthdate does not make the cut-off, you have to wait until the following year to take the exam.
