I'm not naman a frustrated lady driver pero let me share my experience.

i think it was 10 yrs ago that i started to learn how to drive via my driver & driving school. sa manual ako natuto. so marunong na ako i was driving to school and home (back & forth) with my mom so after a few months, i asked if i could drive alone na. ayun nagtampo sa akin. so natamad na ako mag drive and nagpa drive na lang ulit ako sa driver.

so fast forward today. something happened to me. so ayun nag aral ulit ako mag drive, good thing naalala ko pa naman lahat. so madali lang. and since nasanay ako sa manual, driving an auto was very easy. kaya ito i can drive alone na. hindi ko lang kaya mag parallel

lakas lang ng loob ang kailangan and no distractions. don't think about anything. kasi one time may iniisip ako, muntik na akong mabangga.

^ ay totoo yan. lately nga, while im driving along c5 ext. may naalala lang ako tapos hindi ko namamalayan, malapit na pala akong sumampa sa gutter kaya panic mode na naman si hubby nun.. haha

1st year college ako when I had my formal training to drive. Second year college ako my dad let me bring the car sa school ng magisa, yes MAGISA! Nung 1st week ko, as in convoy kame. From bahay to school hinahatid niya ko, lolz talaga, super funny pag naalala ko. Then one time nainis na ko kasi ayaw niya ko mag solo, in the middle of highway super binilisan ko hanggang nawala na yung sasakyan niya sa paningin ko. Then the following day, hinayaan na niya ako magisa.

i took 10 hours of lesson din. umiyak ako first day pa lang kasi yung instructor sinigawan ako eh at that time 17 pa lang ako and tense nga ako. sinabi ko sa mama ko and then pinalitan yung instructor ko. after that 10 hours, nagpractice ako sa subdivision. nakakatawa kasi ngayon i remember yung reklamo ng mga kapatid ko na bakit daw di kami umaandar.  anyway, kaskasera na ko ngayon at pinapabagalan na nila yung pagdrive ko. natuto ng manual pero later on binigyan na ko ng automatic kaya petiks na lang.

tatlong beses na kong nabangga ng guy drivers (1 jeep, 1 taxi and 1 civic) kaya alam ko na ang gagawin in case. naflatan na rin ako sa NLEX, nabangga sa gate namin habang umaatras, nascratchan sa parking (sa school to), maging cause ng traffic dahil namatayan ako, sumayad sa humps (jazz ang first car ko), nahuli ng MMDA maraming beses at marami pang iba all in just three years. lakasan lang talaga ng loob yan. kasi di ka matututo kung di mo maexperience.

pero maganda sis kapag natuto ka kasi makakagala ka without relying on anyone. dati kasi kailangang magpahatid sa parents eh so kung di sila payag, wala kang magagawa. ngayon... alam na

tama stay focus lang lagi at lagi ka tumingin nga sa unahan mo.. never leave your eyes in front.. kanina lang nahulog ako sa gutter sa c5.. good thing gulong lang medyo malaki damage.. natakot ako coz im with my son.. magmula ngaun careful na ko.. lagi ko na titignan unahan ko.. medyo nawala kc ko sa concentration dahil makulit anak ko.. huhuhu..

^sis tinulungan ako nun 2 lalaki.. un mga naglilinis ata sa daan un.. tinulak nila un likod tapos ako bwelo din pausad.. kinaya naman kaya nakaalis din agad ako.. na flat na un gulong ko buti na lang i live nearby.. as usual inulan ako ng sermon from hubby and dad.. pero still i will drive pa rin kc no choice i have to drive my son to school..

^buti na lang sis. nakakatakot talaga kapag ganun. minsan kahit anong ingat talaga, di naman maiiwasan na may mangyare.

our first car was a toyota revo m/t hubbynsent it na lang to the province because im not driving it naman daw kasi takot ako...hindi niya lang alam gustong gusto ko talaga matuto regardless kung manual or matic

now he bought a new car jazz na a/t i'm determined to drive it na no matter what, keber kung scared..baka ipamigay nanaman kasi eh hehe ang cute pa naman nung car..so help me GOd!

dream ko talaga maka drive sa edsa, nlex/slex and commonwealth, pag na-conquer ko na yung fear ko of driving, i'll be the happiest woman on earth ayoko na magpadaig sa fear,ang daming nawawala sa akin.

^ Sis, why don't you try muna on NLEX/SLEX first? It's actually a lot easier to drive on the expressways than EDSA, C5, or Commonwealth, since walang motorcycles and pedestrians, and the few jeeps that are on never stop on the expressway, for obvious reasons. I drive on SLEX to work every day, and I dread every time I have to pass EDSA and C5 kasi ang gugulo nila.

I am also a frustrated, tamad, and scaredy cow driver hehe
I keep on delaying my driving career kase im sahm and i have a husband who willingly drives for me, me driver din kami.
But yesterday i was able to fetch my son from school with the aid of my husband coaching me but for the first time hindi kami nagaway with my driving hahaha ang kaba pa nya dahil malaki yung dinala ko, his lovely sta.fe, eh ang binili lang nya and meant for me is the Accent.
I felt more confident now kase kahit papano wala naman akong nagawang boo boos.

sis i followed your advice. during the pacquio-marquez fight, i did a dry run for picking up my hubby at the airport. i came from marikina, with my sister as co-pilot and i took the c5-slex route. i got lost pa nga eh i ended up in bicutan, same thing happened to me on my way home. i wanted to take the bundia-nagtahan route i ended up in Roxas Blvd. oh well charge to experience na lang..ang expensive gas.

you were right, ang dali pala mag drive sa slex. my sister had to pull the hand break on me twice because of bulaga moments while making turns..it happened because i got rattked when we got lost, but other than that, she said my driving is smoother i hope i can improve soon so that i can drive by myself na, hubby wants me to take the family to moa this december. so afraid to drive alone.

^ Congrats! Okay lang those little slips up, and as you said...charge it to experience. The fear will wear off when you spend more time practicing on the road.
Don't worry too much about the gas...there could have been costlier mistakes, if you know what I mean, and at least you avoided them.

One thing I also like doing before I drive into places I'm not familiar with is that I look it up on Google Maps, or I make kulit people for directions. Too kulit, in fact.

you have to look at the rear view mirror and side mirrors din kase. left, front, right, front, rear, front. ang pagsilip sa side & rear max 2 seconds lang ha. wag babad ha.

I took driving lessons when I graduated from college. I drove into some close distance locations lang. Hahaha! Hindi naman sa hindi ako marunong pero takot ako; and add to that, minsan mahirap talagang may kasamang makulit na tatay. Well anyway, I plan taking a fresher course in driving para naman di masayang ang nalalaman ko (na sana ay naaalala ko pa) at di ko na kailangan mang-bug pa ng kung sino ang pwede mag-drive para sa akin when I need to go somewhere.

Kinakatakot ko nga lang e yung mga sandaling masiraan ako sa daan (though marunong-runong naman ako ng konting troubleshooting) at yung kapag nabangga or nakabangga ako. Yung negotiations and all that. Nasasayangan ako sa oras sa mga ganun.

i was almost about to get into a road fight at morato... may guy driver na pilit sinisiksik yung car niya sa car ko... binabaan ko ng bintana and he honked at me. sa sobrang galit ko minura ko na siya. aba at gusto pa akong babain! buti nalang i have my baseball bat with me, nung nakita niya yun pumasok siya agad sa car niya

I learned how to drive a matic car c/o my hubby (bf that time) 2005. After I gave birth 2006, he forced me to enroll in a driving school near our house (A1). I got the 10-hour package or 2 hours a day for 5 days.

After that, I didn't drive again haha! Since my hubby and work in the same company, he was the one who drives and while me in the passenger side, sleeping 

Hubby then resigned and started working at McKinley Hills. Just last June/July 2011, taxi fare had an increase again so I started driving our matic fortuner once a week. So okay na, I got comfy with driving again.

By December 2011, diba laging umuulan? It so happened na magccab na ako sa umaga papasok after hubby parks in McKinley. Aba! Aba! Walang taxi and ang haba ng pila! Susme! For sure late ako nyan if I waited so inoffer na nyang idrive ko car nya. Excited ako na tensed kasi manual ang car, lowered and SiR pa. Pang-karera. May paakyat pa naman papuntang The Fort! Ayun, nilakasan ko lang loob ko and I kept on talking to myself to kinda keep myself distracted sa silence sa loob ng car (pinatay kasi ni hubby radio para maka-concentrate daw ako).

Buti nalang, I remembered pa how to use a stick shift and di ako natirikan or anything. In denial pa ako na ayoko ng manual kasi kakatamad and kakapagod lalo na sa traffic. Pero I think, it is because of my fear sa hanging or matirikan then magagalit mga nasa likod mo and other situations na pwede mangyari while on the road.

Now, everyday ko na siya dina-drive. Sundo ko nalang si hubby after office 

It really takes the guts to be able to drive a manual along EDSA and C5 grabe!

hi sisses!i was also a frustrated driver when i started learning how to drive to the point na im more stressed thinking about doing it than doing work..
nag-hire ako ng manong driver na malapit sa min to guide me everyday for about 3 months..th bad thing is that mejo ngrely ako na me kasama lagi pag ngddrive..until I realized how much money I am paying him intead of spening it on other things..hehe
So un nilakasan ko na [textspeak!] loob ko na mgdrive mag-isa and im driving to work na alone!
Un nga [textspeak!],gusto ko maluwag pa rin ang parking!..hehe
