oo nga baka meron kayo mga sis. we're planning to spend a weekend din kasi sa hotel. for special occassions or kung wala lang. post the links mga sis puhleeees.

I don't have a blog, but I enjoy staying overnight at Manila hotels. I've tried Makati Shang, EDSA Shang, Sofitel, Peninsula Manila, Mandarin Oriental, Oakwood, Crowne Plaza, and Richmonde.

If anyone is interested in staying at any of the above, I can share my experiences here.

The last time I stayed at Mandarin Oriental was five years ago, and I don't remember liking the interiors, when did you stay there sis? Is it much nicer now?

I'm more fond of European style interiors with soft brown hues, cream, etc, rather than geometrical, modern styles.

^ My stay at Oakwood was awesome. This was late last year. I only paid 8,000-something for a one bedroom unit, 3D/2N. They were on a buy one, take one promo that time thus the good rate.

The unit had 3 LCD TV's, a fully equipped kitchen, the best bed and pillows ever, a high tech sound system with iPod dock, a comfy living room, a tub, a steam shower, and a gorgeous view of Ortigas.

I also had access to their gym, big indoor pool, sauna, and jacuzzi.

SUPER CRAZY SULIT. I hope they offer another promo like that soon.

My last stay at the Mandarin was January of this year. Our membership card was about to expire so we decided to use it for one last time. We got the standard room, which was so-so. The TV was jurassic. The bed was comfy, but forgettable. Small room, too.

I like the fact that our room had a tub. Nice city view, too. And the Paseo Uno buffet was good enough.

I agree with what you said. The interiors are rather boring.

hands down Ascott kami.   I love the hotel being right on top of Glorietta and so near to all the food places and shops.  I love also the big space.  2 bedroom plus kitchen and living room.  since we can't fit in one room anymore, by default, i need to get 2 bedrooms kaya mas sulit to stay at a services apartment as compared to a hotel.  with my shang membership, Ascott's price for 2 bedroom is same price lang with the 2 bedroom overnight stay at shang makati.

^ NO, dear. I didn't have to be a member to avail of the buy one, take one. Will post here if I hear of any Oakwood promos.

Oh yeah, since I wanna try Peninsula Manila, my friend and I might get membership. Only 7,500 with complimentary overnight stay plus other freebies and discounts. Very, very good deal.

If i remember right, not more than 10K for 2 bedroom with breakfast for 4.  They had a promo dati.

mga sis baka meron nakapag-stay sa hotels near Luneta/Roxas Blvd area. Dito kasi namin balak para maipasyal na rin si baby sa Luneta and Ocean Park.

^ Sofitel. Check Agoda for really low rates. I think standard room costs only P4,500 per night.

I stayed at the Executive room and felt like I didn't exactly get what I paid for. The room is pretty nice, but I was expecting a bit more, I guess. Spent a total of P11,256 (includes complimentary buffet breakfast for two at Spiral, complimentary cocktails and pica pica from the lounge, parking fee, and 2 cans of Sprite from the minibar). The unit had a big comfy bed, balcony, executive desk, mood lighting, flat-screen TV, L'Occitane lotion/soaps/shampoo/shower gel, and other basic hotel features.

Overall, Sofitel is still good choice. Plus, the pool area is resort-ish, which I liked.

manila pen was nice.  medyo wala lang magawa, but if u just want to relax, ok siya.

i think i prefer edsa shang.  kasi andami pwedeng gawin, we can go to the mall, swim or have massage at chi spa. happy kame sa edsa shang talaga.

di ko nagustuhan ascott, siguro di lang bagay sa taste ko.  didn't enjoy during my stay there.

what i would love to hear about is hotel h2o. intrigue ako sa hotel na yan.

@Sis beijing, alam ko may new Microtel sa may MOA. Pero kung may kid what if try mo [textspeak!] hotel h20 sa ocean park.

Wala ata akong alam na really decent hotel sa may Luneta eh. Or kahit along Roxas, basta Manila parang ang gulo kasi and mga luma na. Siguro sa Traders na lang, or Sofitel.

oh and any comments on Intercontinental? how are the rooms and the buffet breakfast like?

in makati, i've stayed at the peninsula, intercontinental, renaissance (formerly new world) and dusit thani. i want to try hotel celeste, a boutique hotel. if you have a SM advantage card, you get 40% off the published rate.

Ay, like ko to.  Mas gusto ko talaga stay sa hotel kesa mag out of town.  Kaso pag may budget lang, hahaha.  Actually, I'm always on the look out for GCs or discounts, sabi ko nga kay hubby kahit once a year lang.  I also like visiting tripadvisor, kasi gusto ko tingnan mga pictures.  Was able to stay overnight at Great Eastern in QC in 2004 (wedding namin), Edsa Shang in 2008, last year sa Imperial Palace lang, then last May sa Dusit Thani.  Pleasant stay naman sa lahat, pero syempre iba yung experience sa Edsa Shang and Dusit.  Kaso wala kaming free breakfast sa Edsa Shang pero sa Dusit meron..Like ko rin bed nila, big talaga and super nice sheets and pillows.

i've stayed at the intercontinental once.. we earned a free night and decided to avail of it.. i don't remember much about the bathroom but the bed i found really comfy.. the tv needs an upgrade.. i didn't check the pool.. the room looks common lang (so far, Crowne Plaza in Changi palang ang talagang tumatak sa kin)..

Oakwood is really nice. the rooms are really big compared to discovery suites to think that they're both serviced apartments.
