bakit kayo nag resign sa job nyo?

4 months ago I resigned from my previous company kasi night shift ba nman ako, first time ko naging night shift sa company na yun and ang layo sa house nmin, sobrang unhealthy for me kasi bukod sa hirap me matulog sa umaga e i have 2 kids to take care at nagaantay sa akin, ofw pa si hubby. ayun so happy ako sa current job ko ;-)

I am also planning to resign. para kasing wala nang growth sa office and kung meron man e dadagdag lang yung work load mo pero no additional pay naman. I still can't decide when to leave. Pero malamang upto April nalang ako. Kasi they gave me additional work load without additional pay again. =(

after almost 8 years, last day ko na sa april 10. and i'm proud dahil aalis ako na walang kagalit. sayang, i'm happy with my job pero d ko na kayang mag night shift tapos papalit palit. minsan one month morning, tapos one month night. ayoko na ng ganun. sayang lang.

Different Stories and Reasons...

1. Sales Assistant Shangri-la - need to go to abroad with my husband. and got pregnant

2.  Sales Manager Hotelier --- resigned because of my husband, doesn't want me to travel oversea for sales call and trade fair since we have 3 kids.

3. General Manager  Real Estate Company in Phnom Penh -  this is the hardest thing to let go, since im earning a lot of $$$$$$ here, but we always fight for 3 years , he just want me to stay at home be a housewife and take care of my kids.....   AND  why did i agree on him ?? in the end i realize  that i'm the one who should let go and give up my career , it's really hard to convince my self ( Most GIRLS attitude diba, pera mo sayo lang... pero ni hubby sayo parin  hehe )

I just think the positive side  staying at home to see my  kids grow and guide them to be a better person....  At buti na lang my hubby always telling me that ( WHY YOU HAVE TO WORK? IM THE HEAD OF THE FAMILY , I SHOULD BE THE ONE GIVING YOU A GOOD LIFE . IS IT NOT ENOUGH WHAT YOU HAVE RIGHT NOW? AYAW DAW NYA AKO MAPAGOD KASI MAHAL NYA AKO....    ) these are the words that settled me to be a housewife   , ang corny pero sweet and i feel secure. 10 years na kaming married but every night he always tell me how much he love me.... :-

my co-workers had been telling lies about me..so i confront my boss and told him that i goin to resign asap..and hindi ko matatake yung ganun..and i hope na next time hindi na mangyari yun sa iba..

1st job-- as an accounting assitant. I resigned after 3months kasi yung mga kaofficemates ko 3 years na contractual pa din. Bihirang magregular though isang sikat na manufacturing company pa naman ito. Mababait and easy to work with naman ang mga kasama ko dito pero ang liit ng sahod at layo sa bahay.

2nd job-- as branch accounting assistant sa isang bank almost 2 years. Love the bank, love the job, okay ang pay increasing yearly ang sahod,ganda benefits, hindi nakakastress. almost perfect for me. I had to resigned kasi inaway ng ex ko ang manager ko and also plan ko magreview sa board exam. That's why I resigned.

3rd job ko-- as branch accounting assistant sa bank pa din almost 1 year. I reaplied from my previous job kaso nung tinawagan nila ko nahire na ko dito. Work load. Mas madami compared with the previous job but tolerable. Benefits mas konti considering known ang bank na to. Sahod, yearly may increase naman.  I resigned kasi kahit okay ang work load super tagal naman ng time dapat before mag8:30 andun na then 5:30 dun pa lang ako halos start magbalanse ng mga documents ng tellers. OTY po sya and liit ng sahod pa.

4th job ko-- as teller/new accounts. so far 6 years na ko dito but still hoping to have the kind of job sa 1st bank na napasukan ko.okay naman masaya though at the back of my mind wishing na makabalik sa accounting work. Tolerable unil lately they impose na dapat may sales and sales would affect our rating as an employee. Wala sa job description nakakainis na . Parang mas magandang magsales ka nalang kesa do your job as teller/new accounts para maganda ratings mo. Nakakatamad natuloy work kasi ang gulo na ng priorities di na nakafocus providing good service sa client instead dapat may sales ka makuha sa client. Ganda naman ang pay and laki naman increase nag salary yealy compared to other banks,ganda din benefits kaso yung pressure nakakaloka. Di ka makahinga sa pressure. Plan ko magpatransfer sa iba department next year.

the bosses in my department are ok, very kind sila. but my my co-workers in our team, di ko feel. and ang mabigat pa niyan ang pinaka head ng department namin is giving me cold shoulder. may mga kasabay kasi ako na na-hire and whenever he saw them, he smiles and ask them how they are, pero sakin, he just look at me with a poker face and say nothing. i don't know what's his problem with me because during my interview with him pa lang i can feel it already. so during my stay there, i can't absorb yung mga tiniturn over saking work , i can't function well i'm always  unhappy, stress. so there i quit. although some says na you're there to work not to make friends and find happiness, at the end of the day working for the sake of earning is not enough, i should be happy with what i do and stay where i feel  comfortable. coz life and time is precious para tiisin ko yung mga ganitong bagay where in  there's a way naman to get out of it . i can't tolerate anymore the feeling na every morning when i woke up i feel worried about going to work and gusto ko uwian na kaagad. and there, finally i'm free.

nagresign na ko sa first job ko kasi im not happy anymore kasi:

1.wala na kong career growth. kapag my seminar/training yung admin lang kasama hndi kasama yung acctg dept.
2.walang ibang benefits.
3.more than 8 hrs of work pero OTY naman. lalo na kapag pupunta [textspeak!] boss namen, you need to wait for him. kamusta naman yung tatawag sya ng quarter to 5 saying na otw na sya.
4.Yung boss ko na masyadong fault finder. mahilig siyang manisi pero pag may nagawa kang good thing he never appreciate. puro negative things lang nakikita niya.
5.last factor na din [textspeak!] salary. masyadong mababa. wala sa vocabulary niya ang increase.

Question po, Kapag ba nagresign ako, sa 30  days notice period kailangan ko pa ring gawin lahat ng previosly kong ginagawa. Ang dami kasi niya and wala na ako sa mood magtrabaho hanggang pag-uwi  ng bahay ( mamemeet ko lang kasi ang deadline ko every week kapag inuwi ko ang work everyday). Although wala pa akong kapalit, marami namang slack employees sa company namin na pwedeng sumalo ng work ko.

I resigned from my corporate job because I wanted to focus on being a WAHM. Since may opportunity naman to be with my kids and at the same time still get some earning, kaya go me with this path.

@spensierato, supposedly, you are to turn over your tasks to your successor. But since wala ka namang successor, gawin mo pa rin yung naka-assign na work sa iyo until your last day. Problema na ng employer mo kung wala silang nakuhang pumalit sayo kasi nakapagpaalam ka naman ng maayos tapos may 30 days notice pa nga. Yung mga slack officemates mo, hayaan mo sila because you'll not be seeing their faces soon anyway. Tiisin mo na lang because the next thing you know, last day mo na pala.

1st job - I wanted something new. I wanted more responsibilities however the corporate system being run didn't allow for people to move up the ladder. I guess, I was disheartened.

2nd job - Night shift kasi. My family forced me to leave since health risk na sa akin.

3rd job - I'll be pursuing my studies abroad. Pray for me! =)

1st job: di pa kasi ako registered medtech nun. so laboratory technician lang ako. simple works lang ang gawa ko. more on paper works. i have to leave kasi mag rereview ako for board exam. 2 months lang ako dito.

2nd job: AWOL ako. 3 days lang pinasok ko. pano unhealthy environment. worst feeling ever! racist mga tao dito. imagine this situation, how would you feel if someone says "ay, lagay ko dito gamit ko, kasi alam ko ___ *lahi nila* di magnanakaw. tapos nakatingin siya sa'yo na ikaw lang ang full blooded pinoy dun sa room".

3rd job: now.. i'm planning to resign early next year. ok ang environment, co-workers and manager. kaso sobra na ang Over-Thank you nila sa akin! almost 2 years na ko. working without Overtime pay. although sasabihin niyo, bakit ka nag oovertime kung walang bayad. eh mga sis, ang workload ko naman eh for 2 persons! nung 1st year ko, keri ko kaso habang tumatagal lalong dumadami. and i need to grow na din.

I just resigned a couple of days ago. Got an offer in faraway EU and grabbed it, so ayun. Was actually planning to finish my contract lang at my company (till early next year) and go back to Pinas muna ( may pending work offer din kasi ako dun, but told them next year pa) pero out of the blue my former employer sa EU called and asked me if I want to back. Syempre yes! Time for travel and wandering ulit!

Sa totoo lang bored na rin ako sa work ko dito, walang career advancement, same-same lang. Iba pa rin talaga pag western culture yung company mo. After years of working here, di ko pa rin gusto ang K' corporate working culture.  Discriminatory pa rin sila.

3rdJob  Travel Agency pa din.Okay naman Sweldo kaso inaaway ako ng boss at masayado mahigpit pluss Overtime at stress pa din.
at binbigyan akong Promotion as a Senior Agent.
Yung work ko ngayon mas mababa sweldo ng 4thousand pesos pero light lang ang work at walang Overtime mabait pa boss.

But my BF think na mali ginawa ko.

Nagresign ako dun sa unag job ko kasi tinawagn na ako ng company na nandun ang dream job ko.

^^Ako nagawa ko yan. Wala rin kasing sense ng malaking sahod kung di aakma ang work sa gusto mong lifestyle.

Nung 2001 (haha tanda ko na!) yung first job ko is as a line engineer sa PCB plant sa Batangas, 12k yung salary, which at that time is malaki na for a fresh grad. Ang kaso, nagboboarding house ako, ang rest day is always weekday, tapos shifting pa!  Ayun tumagal ako ng five months, tapos nagresign ako.  Nung time na nagresign ako, I had an application sa isang Engg design firm sa Manila, and though mababa ang sahod, ayun talaga ang gusto ko na field eh.  So kinuha ko sya, ang starting salary ko is, haha, 7.5k! Sobrang layo sa 12k na salary ko sa first job diba?

Pero looking back, I am 100% sure I made the right choice. That 7.5k job opened the doors for me to work abroad. Like now, in demand ang mga experienced engineers sa industry namin, so ikaw na mamili saan mo gusto magwork, parang you have the pick of the litter sa mga opportunities available.

So sister, listen to your gut feel. Money talaga cannot compensate for a stressful or blah working environment :-)
