hi sis soulflygirl, kami naman sa nguyen khang namin plan magbook. nabasa ko kasi yung blog ni chyng. dito sya nagstay at maganda yung feedback nya. avail din namin yung airport pickup and bus going to siem reap sa kanila. although maganda rin review sa bich duyen. ikaw na lang bahala magdecide pero both have good feedbacks naman.

i go with bich duyen..dun kami nag-stay when we went to vietnam (2010)...ang bait-bait ni chan (the manager), pinabaunan pa kami when we went to cambodia...:-)

when we were in hanoi, we stayed at viet hotel, kinda far from the shops, but the hotel is decent but small rooms, but clean naman (this was a relief considereing worse yung hotel namin sa hcmc)

thanks for the posts everyone. my girl friends and i will be going to Cambodia and we are in desperate need for ideas to help us plan. this will be a whole lot of backreading but i'm sure it'll be worth it.

kung family bonding yung trip (6 pax) including my parents (both senior citizen) & first time ng 2 brother ko lumabas ng Pinas, san mas okay pumunta? Vietnam or Cambodia?

Treat kase ng sister ko, eh nakapunta na parents & sister ko sa HK/Macau, SG/KL & BKK, Vietnam & Cambodia pamimilian namin ngayun, san kaya mas okay? baka kase hindi na kayanin ng parents ko 12 hour bus ride kung tatawid pa kami sa boarder, kaya 1 bansa lang muna, thanks!

^siem reap is good but i hope your folks like walking.medyo malalayo kasi at may parts na aakyat ng steps sa mga [textspeak!],otherwise dun bet ko.pag vietnam mostly museums kayo and the tunnel which baka ayaw nila.

^yung father ko medyo tamad ng maglakad, kaya minsan nag papaiwan na lang sya sa isang lugar tulad sa BKK, malamang Siem Reap na nga lang, ako kase mag arrange ng tour, pati booking, eh gusto ko makita Angkor...hihi! sa susunod na lang HCMC  , thanks!

Nakakapagod ang bus ride kasi ang layo talaga. Basta Mag Mekong Express lang kayo na bus kasi natry namin ang paramount, grabe kaloka ang init ang aircon and hindi comfy.

Sa vietnam, try A&em hotel. super okay! sarap pa ng breakfast.

Mga sis/bro, tanong lang. we're flying on Tue to Ho Chi Minh via Cebu Pac so darating kami ng madaling araw then we will take the first trip of Mekong Bus to Pnom Penh at 7AM. Pwede bang tumambay sa airport while waiting na mag-umaga? If not, how much ba per night sa Bich Duyen?

Pag pabalik naman from Pnom Penh ang flight namin is 1Am din via Cebu Pac, so if we will take the last trip of Mekong at 2PM then we arrive Ho Chi Minh at 8:30PM, ample time pa naman to catch our 1AM flight no?

How far is the bus station from both airports?

By the way this trip is not for a tour, may aasikasuhin lang.

^We left our hotel in District1 at around 10:30PM and it was raining kaya if you arrive in HCMC at 8:30pm you still have a lot or time to spare. The taxi fare cost us 156,000 VND.

^sis medyo malayo...district 1 ang mekong bus station, district 3 yata ang airport...pero di naman aabot ng 1 hour ang layo...mga 25-30mins..mukhang malayo kasi paikot-ikot...:-)

for the currency ba sa Cambodia tinatanggap ang dollars so no need for currency exchange pero sa vietnam if pang-taxi to and from airport and mekong and 1 snack/meal lang how much USD should we have changed? Pasensya na sa maraming tanong, in rush lang.

both countries tinatanggap naman ang USD, yun lang nga, they will give your change with their currencies...better bring loose change coz mas preferred nila yun...

forgot how much yung payment sis, last time we went here was 2010 pa...:-)

1 USD is 20,000 VND. You can get a better rate the higher note that you have, say if you have a 100 USD note
