All about the AIRPORT

sis chuzzle, it was actually a practice many many years ago. we did that or minsan maski wala, they would say pa merienda or merry christmas or what. if you don't give them, hahalungkatin talaga nila luggage ninyo. if you don't have anything to hide, let them.

but the past few years, wala na naman. we just usually pick the customs official na mukhang mabait, young or hindi lang mukhang hihingi.

^ my aunts from to the US come back for a short summer vacation every two years, and this happens daw all the time to them sa naia.. It recently happened april 2012. The officer wont let them pass daw and kept on leading them to the idea of handing in 20 dollars parang ganun. So she said to save time, just hand in the form with money. Haha.  Of course, I don't think ill do that when I fly back home tom. I do hope this practice like pamasko or pamerienda ay talagang over na cos it's honestly nakakahiya and nakakasuka.

i think ganyan sila sa balikbayan, actually the customs officials are abusado but they know who to abuse kasi eh. this has never happened to my hubby and to us lately. we just choose the official, yung mga bata kasi they are strict but fair. basta matanda, iwas kami.

have to agree with that: mas bata karaniwan strict but fair. yung mejo oldies ika nga batikan na not all pero meron pa rin talaga bad apples though none of us or.my relatives encountered any naman firsthand

Sis matetreyes, I meant the "legal" taxis ha, not sure about  avis though.  I don't know ba't ako pinayagan nang guard sa greeter's area. Sabi ko lang sa kanya magtataxi kami ng hubby ko na kakadating lang sabay tinuro ko siya kaya pinayagan niya ako tumawid.  Pedro dun lang talaga kami sa labas.

sis kung marami ka bagahe punta ka dun sa dulo nung greeters area, yung may ABC na hintayan. Fixed rate sila pero pwede ka tumawad, may resibo na ibibigay sayo meaning yung nasa resibo yun na ang babayaran.  Yung tito ko naalala ko sinundo ko one time galing cia ng Saudi tas dun kami sumakay sa KFC, nangongontrata, sabi ng tito ko "di na nga ako natuloy mag abroad kokontratahin mo pa ko" LOL effective naman kasi from airport to buendia sinisingil kami ng 300 pero naging 150 na lang..

update: pwede nga pumasok yung sundo dun sa may ABC basta andun na yung susunduin at magtataxi. kami kasi nag-AVIS so yung taga-AVIS sinundo ako sa greeter's area. I asked yung guard kung if ever na hindi kami nag-AVIS e pwede din ba akong pumasok dun, sabi nya oo daw basta andun na yung susunduin at magtataxi

Mga sis does anyone know where I can get visitors pass for arrival in NAIA? My parents are arriving kase and wanted to pick them up from inside since ako lang mag isa.

^sis, hindi ka bibigyan ng MIAA ng visitors pass kung reason is just to pick up passengers. They are quite strict sa pag-issue ng passes now.

^What you can do though is request from the airline na sasakyan nila ng wheelchair assistance (if your parents don't mind sitting on one) para meron mag-assist sa kanila from the gate all the way sa arrival area.

oo nga daw sis i asked kanina sa airline. i spoke to my dad's friend working sa naia 1 he'll just pick me up from arrival entrance apparently if may kasama taga loob allowed naman makapasok.

^Yup, because he will vouch for you. Pero kung ikaw lang mag-isa di ka bibigyan ng pass.

mga sis anong restaurant or kainan ba ang malapit sa NAIA ng 11pm?
late na kasi dating namin, gusto muna sana namin kumain bago umuwi ng bahay..

naalala ko lang last year nadetect nila na may hotdog kami sa check-in baggage namin,
bawal daw yun hinarang kami tapos binuksan maleta namin maya maya bumulong si ate sabi papayagan daw niya kaming mapasok yun basta magabot lang daw kami ng pera..
sabi ni ate icheck-in na daw namin tapos balik daw kami sa kanya abot namin yung pera, pagka check-in namin pumasok na kami sa loob hindi na namin siya binalikan.
bawal ba talaga ang hotdog sa check-in baggage?

^sis, depende kung saan ka pupunta. Kung domestic lang pwede sa check-in bags ang hotdog. Pero kung international destination, may mga countries na bawal magpasok ng mga meat products (raw or cooked).

^^ ilang beses na din ako nakapagdala ng hotdog pa-SG before, check-in luggage din, fortunately di naman nasita.. Even brought in pa-Dubai, buti at di rin nasita especially since pork product yun.. Depende siguro...

^Every uwi ko back to SG, I bring hotdog or tapa, or longganisa.  My friend brought one kilong Purefoods Honeycured bacon.  This uwi ko last chinese new year, I brought century boneless bangus naman and burong mangga in ziplock.  Hindi bawal, unless they knew first timer ka magbyahe.  Minsan, every month uwi ko sa pinas, di naman ako nasisita sa mga check in ko.

anybody here who arrived in Clark Airport at around 1am? I am going to Manila pero mukhang wala na atang bus to Manila from Clark that time.  So either, I find the nearest hotel para makahabol sa early bus schedule to Manila or just stay in the airport..Hassle naman kasi, na-reschedule flight namin.

^^Hi sis! Tawag ka sa Trinoma airport lounge to confirm their bus sched. Call 621-3673. Nagtanong kasi ako last week, sabi nila meron daw byahe at 1:30am from CRK to Trinoma.
