Pa-join! I have twins as well, i gave birth last june at exactly 37wks. we were eyeing for 38wks sana bago mag CS kaso nagleak na [textspeak!] water bag ko and had contractions na so emergency CS at QMMC (Quirino Labor as what they call it), it was a package at  50k lahat lahat na (bawas na ng philhealth), private ang doctor ko and 3 days sa private room. Super linis at ang ganda ganda ng OR nila, first time ko maconfine sa government hospital but i was amazed sa facilities nila. 3rd and last pregnancy ko na to kaya nacompare ko ang mga ORs na napuntahan ko, 1st was in Fe del Mundo, 2nd sa UDMC and 3rd sa quirino

Depends on you sis, if you can afford to pay for 2, why not? Ako kasi hindi na kumuha dito kasi kami sa in-laws ko kaya kahit papaano makatulong ako.

For those who gave birth already, how did you deliver the babies ? Is it via NSD or C-section? Pinag iisipan ko kasi kung ano ang mas safe, just in case na pareho naman head down ang babies kayang kaya naman i NSD yun kaso mas risky yata dahil sa mga cord coiling incidents. Pero kung CS naman kasi ang hirap ng recovery ng nanay (im nsd with my previous pregnancies), natatakot din ako sa anesthesia baka di nako magising or what pag CS.
Kayo ba, ano preferred nyo?

@design21, I had two yayas for my twins until they were 3 1/2 years old.

Sis marose , mahirapan ba kung 1 lang yaya mo? Im planning kasi to have 1 yaya lang since i'll be resigning from work na at maging full time mommy na lang. For me kasi mas naguguluhan ako pag mas madaming househelp sa bahay like dati 3yayas ko, lalong mas madumi bahay dahil nag aasahan sa isat isa.

^ Hay naku, kahit full time kang nasa bahay, kailangan two yayas para naka-focus ka sa breastfeeding.  Maya't maya eh nagpapa-breastfeed ako.

Yung arrangement ko dati, one midwife-yaya na parang chief yaya and one regular yaya na puwedeng i-delegate ang mas magaan na tasks.  Siguro kung gusto mo talagang 2 lang kasama (I agree with you na complicated kapag 3 na ang HH, sakit ng ulo nga iyan), dapat clear sa kanila ang mga duties nila.  Like yung isa sa kanila primarily sa babies tapos yung isa may chores din.  Tapos gawa ka ng task list nila para walang pasahan ng trabaho.

Hi twin moms! I just gave birh to my twin girls 2 weeks ago.  They were preterm babies but despite this, they're healthy (praise The Lord!).  Anyways.  To answer some of your Q's ---

anitx, minsan nahihirapan OB ko i-locate ang heartbeat ng twin 2, most prob because of her position.  Maganda talaga pag sa u/s mo nakikita.

dizzylizzie, i bought the twins' stroller in the US, tama ka walang options dito. I also bought the double blessings pillow (which i have yet to pick up from courier) because i intended to tandem feed.  However, I am not tandem feeding yet kase ang hirap pala (for me ha)!

Hi sis im on my 30th week and my twins (fraternal) have significant growth discordance.  Baby A is only 2.4lbs., baby B is 3.2lbs.  When did you discover your growth discordance?

ok thank you sis marose. yan din sabi ng mama ko sa akin i need 3 household helpers currently i only have one. 2 daw full time yaya plus isang maid na all around.

maiba po ng topic is it true mas common pre term labor sa twins? sino po nakaexperience and how many weeks at that time? kalalabas ko lamg ospital 4 months palang ako going 5 but nag pre term labor na ako:( i dont know kung sa uti lang ba talaga or kasi twins sila or combination

Hi sis, for twins... I'd suggest you go for your OBs recommendation and also your mommy instinct. Like sa case ko when I gave birth to twins, gusto ko Normal bec yung una ko easy breathing - normal delivery. But, with my twins... nag call lang ang OB ko ng CS when yung 1st is breech. Madaming chance na possible na Normal but then, during my 3rd trim Ultrasound... Breech talaga. So, I myself opted for Scheduled CS (a lot better than Emergency CS).

Pero, my mommy instinct came in... when during the time na I was firmly sched na  for a date and time for CS. I just felt (nag ka dream pa nga ako) to resched my CS to a day earlier! So, I went to my doc and sabi ko nga na 1 day earlier nalang. She okayd since due date ko nanaman. Surprised, kasi the other twin almost didn't made it if nag pa delay ako ng 1 day.

So, trust your OB and also listen to your body and heart.

Nag 2 yayas+1 all around na ako when the twins were around 8 months. Since, nung infant sila... hindi pa sila naglalakad or asking to be walked all the time.

Then I went back to 1 yaya+1 all around when they're 2.5 year old. If sa house lang, carry pa ang 1 yaya esp if I'm there naman and I could ask help from my all-around kung little things na magaabot lang ng towel ng babies. But, the challenge is when you are out - talagang 2 yayas ang kailangan para naman maenjoy mo ang family day niyo.

There was a time na wala akong yaya for 1 month - mahirap talaga pero if wala akong choice (like moms in the US w/o helpers) kakayanin din. But, for now... I appreciate having at least 1 yaya.

Now, they're 2.5 - 1 yaya and 1 all-around nalang. They are still a handful kasi sobrang grabe sila mag kulitan and ang ingay ingay. haha! Nakakatakot at minsan nagtutulakan sa ibabaw ng chair, table or saan sila abutan. But super saya!

Hi Mommies..been a lurker on this topic as we have twins as well..they were born sep 16 2012 at 34w4d..premature and needs NICU (oxygen, etc). They were released just last night after staying for 10 days.. Our pedia instructed us to have an opthalmologic and hearing screening .. i have no idea where or who is the best for this tests..my pedia referred someone from slqc but it is far from where we stay..please let me know if you have suggestions and referrals as well.

sis luthorcorp nag  steroid shot ka ba? nakatulong ba for lung development, bakit need pa nila oxygen support?

I had my steroid shot 2 weeks ago at week 28, ako nga lang nag inject sa sarili ko ..ouch hehe. I hope it will help my babies lungs to mature agad so that mag preterm man ok na sila. 

ano ba mga factors bakit nag p preterm ang twin pregnancy? based on your experiences mga sis, like naglakad ba kayo sa mall prior to labor, working, on bedrest or di na kaya ng uterus nyo dahil malaki na babies. para maiwasan ko kasi nag da drive pako and nag wawalk pa ako sa mall upto now, namimili ng iba pa gamit, wala naman kasi ko aasahan iba.

^ ^ Thanks sis..we had the checkup na with dr. macias of st lukes..yup we had steroid shots at 30wks and another at 6 hours before they were born..very helpful ang steroids sis..d na kinailangan ng medication for the lungs.un lang oxygen to help them pero sandali lang naman..

@luthorcopr, I recommend Dr. Pauline Santiago (Medical City, St. Luke's QC, Manila Doctors, Polymedic) for eyes (her specialty is ROP and strabismus) and Dr. Rina Quintos ( Medical City) for the ears.

Based on my latest ultrasound at 32 weeks , twin a is cephalic and twin b is on a transverse lie. Di rin nagkakalayo weight nila .40grams lang. Im still hoping na maideliver sila ng NSD kaso ayaw ng OB ko baka daw kasi di agad lumabas si twin B eh mag emergency c-section pako,kaya may sched nako for c-section. Anyone na nakapag deliver via NSD?

At what average weeks does a twin pregnancy deliver, pwede na ba 36weeks na wala ng nicu time? Iba iba kasi nababasa ko pag nag reresearch ako considered pa din daw preterm yun.

^ Based on my talks before with my twins' neonatologist, the birth weight is a critical factor kung mani-NICU or hindi.  Kapag mababa ang birth weight ng babies mo, mas likely na ma-NICU sila.

Marami pang factors to consider, of course.  Ask your OB for a referral sa neonatologist as early as now kasi siya ang makaka-address ng concerns mo.

^oh i see. That's what i'm planning to ask nga on my next appointment. Pati yata mga sucking reflexes di pa well develop at 35-36 weeks but some infants do well. I'm not sure kasi kung aabutin pako ng 37weeks, i just went out of the hosp due to preterm labor, im praying na umabot pako kahit 36weeks. Sabi kasi ng perinat sakin 34-36 weeks daw average for twins pero di nga nya ko masagot kung may nicu time pa maybe because depende nga sa babies.
