^^Yes, don't pump yet before you give birth. Esp. with twins/multiples we have to keep the babies in as long as we could. Stimulating the breasts stimulates contractions and induce labor. Unless your OB recommends it, but I never did kasi I am scheduled for a CS. With elective CS, hindi pwedeng mag contractions - kaya might not be advisable.

Have your babies latch as soon as they are out.  That's the best stimulation.  Read on the Unang Yakap protocol.

Tama to and guaranteed, sis marose! Nohing beats psychological stimulation. Just a thought of my twinfants when they were a baby and nasa business meeting ako, naku... overflowing na breasts ko.

We went for our 18th week scan kahapon, sadly we had a very bad experience with the gyne. She treats her patients like transactions. And why not since she earns minimum SGD200 per "transaction". We spent about 5 minutes with her and she's very rude and unprofessional. We've been seeing her since week 5 and until now di nya matandaan case namin. I was super excited pa naman to find out the sex. Kaso she didn't have time to measure the babies or check the sex kasi she's super busy! Grrrrrr! Para que pala ang consultation na yun? We were asking questions tapos she had the audacity to say na we were wasting her time! Hay! Tapos she wanted us to come after 2 weeks again to do another scan tapos she bluntly said for now your babies are ok, under Singapore law if there's a problem with the babies you have to abort before the 24th week so come back on the 21st week so you have enough time. Grabe, I was gobsmacked. We've been so looking forward pa naman for yesterday to come tapos ganun.

Anyway, we've decided to change gyne, I hope the new one is better. Sorry mga sis. Super rant lang peg ko today. Next appointment with the new gyne is in 2 weeks time.

si Baby B pa lang nag show ng gender  boy , si Baby A nagtatakip... rescan after two weeks, hopefully papakita na niya ang pinaka-aabangan...

mga sis it almost broke my heart when i learned last wed after my ultrasound that only one baby has a heartbeat. baby b did not grow in size and has no heartbeat. mixed emotions honestly. happy to have one baby alive and sad he/she lost his/her twin. so i just prayed that baby b will be absorbed soon enough to avoid complications.

today, even my ob reproductive endo and sonologist rolled into one was as shocked as I was when we saw both babies with a heartbeat. one measuring 8 weeks and one is 6 weeks 4 days. and all the while i knew something was wrong i just couldnt figure it out.

now we are all amazed i might have had superfestation.

i am totally confused mga sis. shocked, stunned and parang feeling ko pinaglaruan ng tadhana because i almost felt so bad last week and now i accepted everything and was ready with one baby, surprise surprise! rollercoaster ride for me mga sis

sis amnesia, you did the right thing! Fire that OB bec you deserve to be pampered with positive-mindset people. Sana, that is the right OB for you. Ok lang to change, I did that too with my eldest and no issues that I changed and didn't even inform the other OB.

Help! Gave birth last friday, at exactly 28weeks, nasa madocs nicu sila and they need my breastmilk... Sa ngayon baby A drink some of my milk na, baby B cannot drink yet mas maliit siya e. hand express palang ako now, konti pa lang milk ko... Hoping dumami na sila so that i can provide milks to my babies.

Re pump anong ok na pump, cant research na im so stress! Para if ready na, i'll use pump na. But as for now hand express pa lang ako.

sis ang la leche manila may stock ng breastmilk from healthy moms im not sure if free lang or binibili. Its called La Leche Leaugue Manila. Hope this helps.

^^ Sis, who is your babies' neonatologist?  I also gave birth to twins at Madocs, 29 weeks naman. I did not ask for donated breastmilk, puro sariling kayod.  I did not pump right away.  I hand expressed milk too.  I pumped siguro 6 weeks after giving birth.  My kids were on ventilator and CPAP machine pero naka-direct feed kami I think a week after I gave birth.  Hang in there!  Kaya mo iyan!  Don't give up!

May Medela hospital-grade pump sa NICU, by the way.  I never used it though because the doctor warned me na baka mabugbog ang breasts ko.

Dr. Labadia handles my twins. Un din sabi niya baka mabugbog un breast sa pump. Hand express din ako kaso konti sobra... Pero right now mas tigas and lumaki na boobs, does that means dumami na milk ko and pwede na sa pump? Tom pa ko maghanap ng pump, baka kasi mali un express ko kaya konti?

^ Yung isa lang yung after a week kasi naging stable na siya, the other one na-delay ng konti.  May protocol diyan si Dr. Silvestre.  Dr. Labadia is good too (from UP din) and a BF advocate.  She will do everything to make sure you successfully breastfeed your twins, I hope.

Don't pump muna!  Madali lang naman mag-express by hand.  Pretty soon, masasanay ka din.  Marami na kong narinig na horror stories sa mga nag-pump agad, especially in the case of preemies na hindi mo pa nga napapa-latch.

To relieve the hardness, apply a warm compress on your breasts.

Sus, ang liit lang ng preemies ano, hindi nila kailangan ng maraming milk.  A full-term newborn has a pea-sized stomach, how much smaller kaya ang stomach ng premature newborn, go figure.  If it will make you feel better, in the early days, I used to get 1-2 oz only and that's for almost an hour of hand expression.  My husband used to help me kasi ang sakit.  No pain, no gain.

For preemies, it is best talaga to breastfeed.  No ifs or buts about it.  Mas kailangan nila ng antibodies from breastmilk and well, malaki ang risk factor kung mag-introduce ka ng formula sa preemies dahil nga their immune system is not well-developed.

Will pray for your twins.     I have to warn you.  It's a roller-coaster ride of emotions ha.  You'll be having many ups and downs in the coming weeks.  Be strong.

There might be good mommies that have over supply of breastmilk that might be of help to you. Just let them know where your babies are (hospital) or you can probably ask someone to pick it up from their office/home if they would allow.

Sis, will it help if you have a bigger breastfeeding baby suck your breast so you can let down? That worked on me kasi I was stresed too and had inverted nipples kaya it was a lot harder. But, follow your doctor too. Praying for you...

Thanks mga sis! Went to the hospital i got 10 cc milk kahapon and kanina naka 20cc ako sa madocs. Bb is taking 1cc every 3 hrs...

Si dr. Libadia mabait at bf advocate nga, d niya ko pressure and encourage me more kaya d ako susuko sa bf... Masakit siya pero kaya ko tiisin, mas masakit pa din naman un nilabas ko sila kaya kaya ko to hehe

Sis marose, nun nasa nicu babies mo, gumamit ba sila ng oxygen? If yes, how long? Heard from my ob kasi na possible need laser daw if nadamage yun eyes, though wala naman sinabi un pedia ni babies. Natakot tuloy ako... Huwag naman sana

^ Yes, naka-oxygen sila and ventilator, yung tumutunog every now and then.  Matagal din siguro 3 weeks or a month, until they were able to "learn" to breathe on their own.  Breathing kasi nade-develop iyan in the latter months of gestation kaya kung premature ang baby, hindi siya marunong pang huminga on her own kaya kailangan ng ventilator.

Sa eyes, the best sa mga preemies is Dr. Pauline Santiago.  Siya ang tumingin sa eyes ng babies ko before and up to now, we go to her for twice a year check-ups.  I heard of a baby born in Madocs too who had to undergo laser eye surgery kasi hindi properly nag-develop ang eyesight.  SOP naman ang eye check-up so malalaman mo din soon.  Read up on ROP or retinopathy of prematurity - ito ang kadalasang nangyayari sa eyes ng premature babies.  ROP may lead to blindness kaya dapat maagapan.

Thankfully, wala namang ROP ang mga anak ko.  And up to now, okay ang eyesight nila.

Waaa katakot. Nag research din ako kanina re rop. Hay... Now ata inalis na oxygen pero meron pa din un ventilator un tumutunog. Now kasi nakatakip pa eyes nila dahil naka photo therapy ba yun, un violet light. Sana walang maging prob huhu kawawa naman pag ganun...
