At 8 weeks dun ako nag bleed wala akong ginagawa huh natutulog ako then pag gising ko dami ng dugo ng sheet namin. Akala ko talaga makukunan ako but thank God naging ok naman lahat but after nun ang dami ko ng gamot. Now im on my 26 weeks, fraternal sila di-di, kita na rin gender both boys :D nakakatuwa talaga.

thank you sis michelle. hindi ako takot dun sa spotting sis one spot lang baka implantation bleeding lang wala kasi any pain. (actually bihasa nako sa spotting or bleeding. this is my 5th pregnancy. 3 ended in miscarriage and one live one. so i would know if the bleeding is alarming or not. mahirap iexplain pero based on experience, na aasses ko na yung situation sa spotting. ) pero SCH is a different story kasi first time ko.

sis ilang weeks bago nawala sch mo? and how was your first tvs? im currently on aspirin, duvadilan, progesterone gel saka vitamins. naninibago ako dun sa son ko kasi wala naman ako paglilihi pero dito sa pregnancy na to as early as 4 weeks grabeh na symptoms ko nasusuka nako. how long ka pala din nagbed rest?

wow boys! i am secretly wishing boy and girl sila pero kahit ano gender basta mabuo sila and safe thankful nako kay God.

I'm nearing my due date and have questions abt breadtfeeding to those who already gave birth na --

  • Did you room-in your twins while you were in the hospital? What's your experience?
Did you breastfeed your twins after delivery? How was it? Di ba kayo nahirapan lalo na thise who underwent cs?

I plan to room in my twins kase and to breastfeed them.  ::)

Wala akong kahirap hirap! Sobrang dali ng isa lang and normal pa! :)

But, a different story with my twins. I planned to room-in ang twins ko and breastfeed them right away. But, I decided na since ang hirap ng CS, so I decided na nursery muna sila. I think, I might have done the right thing for my situation.

Kasi, hirap na ako to carry the twins on the 3rd trim, sobrang hirap pa ako sa CS (but the actual operation was a breeze) - pero yung nasa room na ako... kaloka! Siguro, if singleton lang yun... I would room in the baby. The pain is bearable, but... hindi ako makakilos. I wouldn't imagine if nag room in ako and the 2 babies were crying all at the same time wanting to be held. Then, hindi pa nag let down ang milk ko. So, I focused on recuperating 1st at least during my stay in the hospital so I'd be ready and up for them when we bring them home. And believe me, up until now that the twins are 2.5years old... may sabay na iyakan pa din up until now - nasanay nalang ang ears namin. :) Something, you'll have to get used to.

In the hospital, I was pumping sa room ko even nasa nursery yung twins. Just prepping the breast. May makuha man or wala, basta when I visit them sa nursery... mainom man nila yung colostrum and we will do exclusively na at home. Unfortunately, hindi kami successful sa breastfeeding in the hospital.

When we got home, hindi instant ang pag latch nila... whew! Sa simula, one by one na BF, then pump, and then hubby would bottle feed the other and I would BF the other. Parang mommy dog ang feeling ko... literally, I was a milking cow and parang every 30 minutes... I feed them! Pag tapos ng isa... in a little while, yung isa naman! :O

Until, I mastered the art of tandem breastfeeding in 2 months! Did it sa bed with madaming madaming pillows surrounding me. The twins will be in football hold on each of my arms.

Successfully breastfed my twins (the other till 9 months and the other twin... up until now!). But, don't expect to be successful talaga right away - it takes a lot of patience and maiiyak ka nalang minsan how to even handle the situation at hand. But, just remind yourself that giving up is not a word of a mom of multiples!

:)

Nagpunta lang ako dun on the 3rd and 4th day, then on the 5th day pinadala na namin sila sa room since pauwi na kami. So, room in sila technically 1st thing in the morning of the 5th day.

Pinilit kong makalakad and makatayo from 2nd to 3rd day, naka wheel chair from the room to the nursery. Then naglalakad na ako from the door ng nursery to the BF room.

Meron pillow that you can buy but it's only available in the US. Basta, I had 2 nursing pillows (from SM) naka hug yung pillows on my tummy (one sa left, the other sa right) while I sat sa isang sofa or bed. Then, kukunin ko si Baby 1 and latch. When she's latched sa breast, get baby 2 then latch. It just gets easier as you practice.

Here's a photo of a tandem breastfeeding I've done with my twins but, this is not me ha (altho, I did have a photo but, I don't really like to publicly show it kasi it doesn't look as artistic like singleton breastfeeding mommies! haha!: http://www.breastmates.co.nz/media/712264/bf_photo_twins.jpg

Sharing my same experience on breastfeeding twins: http://www.mamamiakiddos.blogspot.com/2010/09/on-breastfeeding-twins.html

Plan ko naman to bring one yaya with me during my stay.  Yun nga lang, I'm worried about breastfeeding.  I really really want to breastfeed but I'm afraid I wont have milk gaya nung nangyari sakin with my 1st baby.

Did you give breastmilk during the 1st 3 days na hindi ka pumunta sa nursery?  Nagpump ka lang?

Hindi ako nakabigay ng breastmilk during the 1st 3 days kasi wala din akong ma express. Basta pump lang ako  ng pump everyday sa room till kahit may konting drops that I see na lumabas. Then, when I got home from the hospital, nag let down na ako. :)

Then, later on... overflowing na ako!

With my 1st, di din ako naka breastfeed kasi parang feeling ko, wala akong ma express na milk or walang milk. But, I think... meron naman - but I was just surrounded with people who were not very breastfeeding advocates like I had when my twins were born.

I guess, if you have a yaya with you. That would be a good thing kasi she can just bring the babies to you. Ang fear ko lang nun is pag mag room-in ako, and may mga guests na pupunta... baka mahawa sa kung ano man.

Sis 100%k - nag formula bec yung nursery gave them - wala kasi akong birth plan. With clothes, till now, they share everything (they are both girls naman), even plates/spoons para less complicated.

Hello to everyone! Pasali din ako. I've been lurking here since my 5th week when I first found out I was pregnant with identical twins. First pregnancy.

I've read so much stuff online, some eh nakaka-praning talaga pero super laking tulong ang thread na to for me. As in napaghuhugutan ko ng lakas. Thanks for sharing your stories! I'm now on my 16th week. Next scan is in 2 weeks time, can't wait to find out if they're girls or boys! :)

Until now all day sickness pa rin ako. Although medyo better na appetite ko compared to how it was a month ago. Grabe ang laki na ng tiyan ko! ;D

sis 100%k, to add lang. Yes, hindi exclusive na breastfed. But, based on readings ko, malaki pa din ang success rate if naka breastfed ang babies within 4 weeks from birth. Malakas talaga sila mag milk e but I still tried breastfeeding them as much as kaya ng super powers ko.

---
So, try to breastfeed and express! Just to give you an idea formula (ours was Nan 1) vs. breastmilk.

Twinfants @ 0-3 months (1 can of 900g = 1 can per week) X P850/week = P3500/month

Twinfants @ 3-6 months (1 can of 900g = 1.5 cans per week) x P850/week = P5,100/month
twinfants @ 6-toddler (2 cans per week) x P850/week = P6800/month

Kaya, as much as possible, less hassle sa dami ng bottles to clean and cost for us.

Hindi naman ako die hard BF advocate, but I believe that BM is far, hands down better than formula but I feel na there is nothing wrong with what applies best sa structure ng family (esp. twins in our case). So, it is still up to us parents to know the best thing to give to our twinfants. :)

sis kayin, thanks! :)

sis amnesia, double blessing ka agad! :) Kahit malaki na mga twins natin, nice to be with twin mommies who can cheer us up!

So, these instances are normal nalang sa everyday issues. Masanay na kayo sa iyak na sabay - manhid na mga tenga namin sa iyak (and away) pero full of all the double giggles and laughter na you can never trade for anything else in the world. :)

Multiple moms rock! :) hehe

sis iceebaby, thanks sa tips!  :) 9 more days to go before my next scan. Super excited na talaga ako to find out the sex. Pano atat mag shopping! hahaha

I also plan to BF but not because I'm an advocate but because of the tipid factor.  ;D Practical talaga dapat lalo na dalawa agad, lahat doble gastos. Ilang diaper inabot a week ang kambal mo sis when they were newborns? I heard they need changing at least 7 times a day! Iniisip ko pa lang nawiwindang na ko! Sana merong Makro dito sa Singapore katulad dyan sa Pinas.  :)

Sis amnesia, yes... 7-10 diapers ako per day esp nung mas twinfants sila. Kaya, when they turned 12 months - nag introduce na ako ng potty and by 20 months - potty trained na yung isang twin while yung isa sa gabi nalang ang diaper. So, shortly after their 2ng bday... graduate na ako sa diaper! I buy a cheaper one na brand for day use (or sa house lang) and a more expensive one for night or when we go out.

Hindi lang natin napipilit, but if you really really are set for it.. meron naman. :) Breastfeeding helps a lot for us - twin moms, nung nagformula ako sa 1st week - halos itapon ko sa bintana ang mga bote. Tiniyaga ko yung BF and hay... while one breastfed at night... nakatulog ako and di na kailangan mag burp, then feed naman on the next baby. Less clean-up sa bottles, mixing of formula at night and burp ang breastfeeding. :)
