hello everybody!  My hubby and I are having twins, too.  I'm on my 17th week and so far waiting na lang for a go signal for another ultrasound, hopefully to know the babies' genders.  This is my second pregnancy, we lost our first-born at 23 weeks of gestation because of many reasons: PCOS, pre-term-labor, placenta previa totalis.  But my twins are doing fine, thank God!  We really are very thankful and we never forget to pray every night for my safe and smooth pregnancy and delivery and for healthy and normal twins.

Hello mga sis, pasali ako ha…

I am also 32 weeks pregnant w/ twin girls. This is my first baby after being married for 7 years. Actually IVF pregnancy itong sa akin and and after 2nd attempt, thank God at nakabuo din. We have tried everything, from simply taking pills like clomid to IUI(intra uterine insemination) then last chance na nga yung IVF.

Hubby and I are so happy upon knowing that I am pregnant and even more happier when we saw two fetal heart beat after 2 weeks of embryo transfer. Pero hindi pala ganon kadali ang maglihi, I don’t know now if  it is just me or normal lang yun dahil twin ang dinadala. We believe that everything is worth it lalo na paglabas ng mga little angels namin. Right now, nag start na rin kami sa pag sho-shopping ng mga gamit nila. I can even tell their characters base sa mga galaw at reactions nila sa mga bagay bagay kahit nasa loob pa ng tummy ko. I always tell hubby, let’s see kung ganon nga sila ha, kasi may mga kanya kanya na silang reactions at galaw eh.  Kaya super exciting talaga!

To all mommies who will be delivering twins, I salute you and am praying for our safe delivery.  ;)  ;)  ;)

Hi mommies! If you have any question about having twins, let me know. :)  I've been through it all - premature delivery, NICU, breastfeeding twins (not impossible!), taking care of them, yayas, how to dress them up (ayoko ng same clothes), how not to be overwhelmed.  Being a mom of twins is an amazing, exhausting and fulfilling vocation. :)

Hi Sis Golda, thanks very much! Hindi pa namin alam kung normal delivery or CS eh, pero as much as possible gusto sana namin ni hubby ng normal delivery. According to my doctor, based sa lates scan nila(31 weeks) parehong breech ang babies pero pwede pa daw magbago ang position nila. ;)

About naman sa experience ko per trimester, well para shang roller coaster ride. Yung first trimester ko yung pinaka mahirap kasi sobrang sensitive ng panglasa ko at pang-amoy kaya most of the time I ended up sa toilet para ilabas ang mga nakain. Nag lose ako ng 8kgs. during that time. ;D Tapos little by little naging back to normal na ulit ang routine ko..pero shempre w/ a lot of care and pag hihinay hinay. This time naman on my third trimester, ok pa rin so far ang apetite, normal naman lahat ng test namin ng mga babies, except from some back aches, heart burn, edema.

Sige Sis, balitaan kita about my experience kapag nag-deliver na ako.

Ingat po sa lahat ng mommies and mommies to be!  And good bless!

@periwinkle3

I dress my twin boys in same style of shirts and shorts or pants, but in different colors.  Same shorts or pants, pero magkaibang tops usually.  Ever since babies sila, hindi sila terno-terno.  They only get terno outfits when they get those as gifts. :)

Breastfeeding twins is very challenging but it is DOABLE.  First, I read up on breastfeeding - did my research on the net and bought books on breastfeeding twins and preemies.  I got myself a pedia who is a breastfeeding advocate - yung hindi tipong nagrereseta ng formula kapag may difficulty na na-encounter ang mommy, but rather tuturuan ka sa correct positioning and techniques - I love the football hold.  I also thought right from the start that I can and I will breastfeed my twins for as long as I can.  My husband was also very supportive.  He burps one baby while I feed the other. ;)

Of course, a mother can only do so much.  I had two yayas, one of which is a midwife/graduated from Midwifery course.  But these days, my kids are 3 years old na and we can manage with only 1 yaya.  I also work full-time.

^i did set my mind from the start that i will breastfeed them, i read a lot of things about it and excited na rin i-apply. did you pump? marami nga nagdududa, pero determined talaga ako mag breastfeed. While they were in the NICU, pano mo sila feed?

@golda_ph
sept 3 yung gusto ko date para ka bday ko sila, i will be 37w 6d then, sana umabot, medyo napapadalas na kasi pagtigas ng tummy especially at night, hindi na ako makatulog.

^ I nursed them directly (football hold usually; I even nursed them at the same time hehe) when I was with them.  I pumped milk while at work.

When they were in the NICU (2 months in total), I visited them daily, stayed there for 8-10 hours a day to breastfeed them and I pumped milk when I was at home for their feeding sessions while I was away.  During the early days though, since they were intubated, I collected milk by manual expression and the NICU staff would give them the milk (in syringe) intravenously.  It's a long story, but if you hear it, you'll realize that everything is possible when you put your mind to it. :)

^ I had gestational diabetes.  Unfortunately, my case had to be managed by an endocrinologist. I had to have insulin shots 3x a day and monitor my blood sugar 3x a day too.  A nutritionist designed a meal plan for me.  I had to lower my carb intake, strictly portion the sweets - as in I had to eat mangoes, grapes, etc. in limited quantities.

My GDM was primarily due to the steroids I took to manage my APAS.
