Sis i miss sleep, ang bilis ng panahon! 7yrs old na noh... I like the secret party. For sure mag eenjoy.
Si ahia ko naman turbung 6, requesting din for the details of his party. As in alam nya yung mga gusto nya sa party. Then few days later, nag kwento sakin that he invited 3-4 of his classmates sa bahay daw on his bday. Kaya panic mode ako kasi hindi pwede sa bahay sa liit and layo from his school. Kaya im planning that we will just have a lunch out with his chosen classmates sa sweet maria cafe after his class...
Hi Sis..    My daughter is turning 7 too.  Since I'm not giving her a big party like many of her classmates are having this year, i thought the least I could do is invite 3-4 of her classmates to celebrate with her.    I just am not sure if the mommies will be cool about us taking their daughters to the mall, have lunch maybe then a movie (if there's any movie for kids that time) treat.  I know the right way is to invite the mommies as well but parang awkward yata if the mommies are there and am not exactly chummy chummy with them.. but at the same time, I'm thinking if the situation is reversed, I don't think I would allow my daughter to go to the mall, have lunch and movie dates with her classmates, just them with the celebrant's parents and perhaps yayas of each classmates/friends..  :P

^ i know one mom na hindi nag paparty ng malaki on her daughter's 7th bday.. instead they have her 7 things na gusto nya gawin. Like going to mall with the whole fam, then may baking session sa bahay, etc.. basta 7 things yun :)

honestly, and IMO hindi naman kailangan ang bonggang party or malaking party to celebrate bdays kahit pa 7th or even 18th :) nasa preferences talaga yan ng bata and parents. :)

Kami ng hubby ko, we are open not giving our daughter a big party on her 7th bday, (although super tagal pa).   :)

^^ You can still accompany them but get a separate table for them while you are discreetly 2-3 tables away so you can still be a chaperone while still giving your daughter and her friends a bit of freedom. Ganito rin style sa pag-choose ng seats sa cinema, make sure naman you are 2-3 rows behind them so that you can see them.

Choose a mall that is not so big or crowded para hindi kayo magkawalaan or something like Rockwell.

Regarding chummy-chummy with mommies naman, it's not that awkward. I recently threw a small birthday party for my twins and we invited mostly their classmates, whose parents I do not really know very well.  Just talk about your kids, the school of your kids, schoolwork, etc.  and you will surely find a common ground.  Kami, since our kids will be in grade 1 next year, entrance exams to big schools ang naging topic of interest namin. :)

Good luck!

ang eldest ko, kahit na boy eh may details na on what he wanted for his 7th birthday...

pero this time, on his 6th birthday we agreed a non party birthday celebration. he invited 3 of his classmates (they are 38 in a class) to have lunch with us right after their class. i'm prepared if there will be a yaya or a parent who will accompany his classmate. siguro nasanay din ako na ganun din before ang mom ko when i was younger. and she took that opportunity to know my closest friends in the class and their parents.

so ayun, we just reserved a small table good for 12-15pax on friday. pero i can't helped but give in to my son in some details in preparation ( 3 days prep only) na magkaron pa rin ng theme yung lunch celebration nya. all are DIY lang including the invites, were printed from my printer and from the disney site lang...

On my son's 3rd birthday, it rained. As in sobrang lakas dahil sa Habagat. =). So we just bought ube cakse from red riboon and we cooked spaghetti, roasted chicken, macaroni salad and may ice cream din. =)

Then, 2 days after his birthday, nag dinner kami then nag star City. =)

- your kids can go there naman kahit na hindi na mag rides yung dad nila e. =) Yung husband ko naman takot sa rides. But because gusto talaga ng anak namin, GO din siya.

That's why we choose Star City kasi naka air conditioned na sila. When we went there, umulan ng malakas. =)

hello mga sis! i am on the stage of planning for my daughter's 7th birthday. the thing is, she is more excited with the idea of having her party at school. well, i am thankful that she thinks this way. at least, malaking tipid yun and i like the fact that she can find happiness on simple things. so i think we'll have a non-party birthday na lang.matanong ko lang, what's with the numbr 7 ba?

husband and I threw a party for our daughter's 1st birthday lang. We won't be having parties every year kasi I don't want her to get used to it. And gusto namin, when we throw a party, special lang. So 7th, 13th, 18 and 21.

on her 2nd birthday, we took our immediate family out for dinner at a restaurant... pero on her actual birthday, hubby and I took her out for the day and just played sa arcade which she really enjoyed. She was squealing from excitement pa ;D

for her 7th birthday, sinabi ko na sa immediate relatives we're going to the US for a Disney trip so they better start saving if they want to come. We're going to Disneyland CA, then in Florida, tapos Disney Cruise pa :) but of course, if she wants to have a party with her friends here, pagbibigyan namin.

I remember kasi everything about MY 7th birthday party. So for sure, sya rin. And I really want to make it unforgettable :)

Money is major issue to us kaya hindi naman afford ang every year party saka para hindi rin masanay na parating may party or automatic dapat may party kapag birthday niya.

Next year dahil Monday yun hopefully we have enough budget para kumain sa labas.

If not pwedeng travel out of town or kapag sinwerte pwedeng sa Legoland as long as feel na niya or magkaisip na siya.

I hope I can organize party celebration until debut and I can help her finance it at the same time respect her decision kung ano styles ang gusto niya but of course with limitations pa rin kung masasakripisyo ba rito ang budget or what.

My daughter is turning 5 end of October, and I asked her to choose between a party or trick or treat :) she kept on moving from one choice to the other, but so far I think she's settled with going trick or treating that weekend :). We're eyeing Acacia Hotel, same as last year, and hopefully may games, magic tricks and shows along with the giveaways and treats! Eh di parang party narin hehe  ;D
