Hi sis oceana! Living costs in Australia are set at AUD18,000 per year. This amount must be in the applicant's/family sponsor's bank account 3 months before you apply. Additional costs for your partner and children if you will bring them with you.

Other costs include: air fares, tuition fees, accommodation.

Anyone heard sa changes na gagawin nila this coming July ? Usap sapan na kasi dito for student visa holdres na no more bridging visa na after you finished your course. Ang sabi you have to go back home at dun mag antay ng result. Sigh **

Hwag na kayo mag agency sisses. You can diy naman. Or if gusto nyo avail nyo free service ng idp kesa magbayad pa kayo. Yung sa akin ako lang nagprocess. I got an offer letter na from the school. Hinihintay ko na lang na makuha nila ang hard copy na documents ko then I will proceed na with paying my tuition fee. Madali lang naman magprocess basta ready na lahat ng documents and moolah!

yes, suggestion lang.. if gusto niyo ng student visa assistance, sa IDP na lang kayo kasi free siya, just make an appointment and if you decide to pursue your studies they will outline all the documents that you will need to provide them and the amount of show money needed. Just decide on which Uni you want to attend and which course, I think that's the first step as you will complete the application form and pay the application fee, then IDP will be the one to send it to the chosen University. Then you will wait for the University to send an offer letter, which they will send to IDP and IDP will then email you. Next step would be getting the necessary documents for visa application such as financial documents/show money, transcripts etc. IDP will let you know what you will need. So personally, I think you don't need to pay an agency to help you in applying for a student visa. Yung gagastusin for agency save it na lang para magamit when you come here. Yan din ginawa ko dati. personal opinion lang yun

if you manage to find a part time job, it will surely cover for your living expenses but I don't think it can cover for the whole amount of TFs. In saying that...may mga iba na kaya...maipon yung nagastos nila for tuition fees, kasi sobra sila sa hours. nakakatakot nga lang.

Sa new rule ngayon na 40 hours per fortnight, I think mas ma-maximize ng students ang hours kasi unlike yung 20hrs per week, if casual ka..minsan sobra sa 20hrs in a week and if you will abide by the rule, tanggihan mo yung work for that week kasi sobra na sa hours.

As a working student, come tax refund time, if you are working in a related occupation as to what you are studying, you can claim for the things you bought for Uni and work, such as school supplies, laptop, printer, work shoes, work uniform and include you tuition fee receipts in lodging for a refund.
Kung namaximize mo yung 40hrs per fortnight, at the end of the financial yr...malaki rin yun. keep mo lang mga receipts mo.

Nursing din. 1 year ko lang kuhanin sa Deakin University in Melbourne. Madali ka lang nakahanap ng work,sis? Birds eye view naman sis kung pNo yung nursing dyan? Mas mahirap ba compared dito.

@yukishih as of now dito sa Queensland, mahirap makahanap ng work after grad (for int'l students). Dito sa QLD, before you graduate mag-aaply kayo online for a graduate program, isahang application para sa lahat ng public hospitals and aged care na yun. Ang problem, priority nila ang citizens, permanent residents, new zealand citizens, lastly int'l students. Pati private hospitals ganun rin. So yan naging problem ko. Pero hindi ko alam kung sa Queensland lang yun. Depende rin siguro sa situation yan, ako kasi I had no work experience sa atin. I eventually found a grad program sa aged care nga lang but for a start it's okay, and the company is sponsoring int'l students which is a bonus.

studying nursing here, personally it was okay. Hindi naman siya mahirap, tama lang kasi unang una napag-aralan mo na yun. You have to adjust though as the most common type of assessment here is essays. They are very particular with referencing, paraphrasing --no copy and paste. Ayaw nila ng google, gusto nila evidenced based, hanap ka ng journals--available naman lahat ng kelangan mo. Sa clinical placements naman, hmmm pretty much the same, equipment lang sa una di ka familiar siyempre but you'll eventually learn, may tutorials naman kayo nun. Kaya mo yan. I hope nasagot ko yung tanong mo.

@Yukishih you're welcome. Kaya mo yun. Basta be prepared with your plans. It's a risk pero worth it naman kapag naging maayos na ang lahat. Once you graduate, apply for jobs kahit hindi graduate programs, meron pa naman mga hospitals na direct na nagha-hire kahit hindi nag grad program, besides may nursing experience ka naman sa atin. Ayusin mo din agad yung visa mo after grad, if pasado ka na sa points system for independent skilled migration or may mag sponsor sayo relative, employer or state sponsorship, apply ka na. @yukishih, kung malapit ka lang sa Makati Area, much better lodge your application sa VIA Center. Regarding the pay. do you mean 'application fee'? Pwede manager's check. Pag sa VIA Center ka nag lodge ng Application, may babayaran ka pa dun, cash.
