Hi everyone! I would like to ask about Australia's Honours Degree. It's a one year (4th year) degree. Ask ko lang, equivalent ba ito ng 4 year Bachelors Degree dito sa Pinas? Kasi if you want to do your Master's degree in Aus, UK, USA, etc, mas preferred nila ang may Honours Degree (or the additional 1 year in their degree, kasi diba kadalasan 3 yrs lanf yung Bachelors degree nila). I'm confused kung the same ba ito sa 4 year degree natin? Kasi I am interested in this kind of 1 year degree (example : http://www.monash.edu.au/study/coursefinder/course/0003/). I hope someone can shed some light! Thanks!

hello is there anyone here na med student sa sydney? im a premed student kasi here sa phil, next year graduate na ko and i will take medicine. plan ko is to study abroad, either canada or australia. my problem with canada is the climate, i dont think kakayanin ko plus the loneliness. with australia naman, i like the fact na maraming international students na i can get along with. gusto ko lang malaman yung duration ng class sa medicine, i mean whole day class ba? and if may med student dito, pinagtake pa ba muna ng undergrad degree before ka tanggapin sa med school like the system here sa phil or right after highschool/pre-college med na agad?

usually ang mga courses dito eh upto 3 yrs, kapag gusto mo pa ng further studies kukuha ka ng honors degree or isa pang taon.
kung kukuha ka lang ng honors degree ng isang taon dito, i dont think applicable yun, pero tanungin mo parin yung university kung ok sa kanila ito. may mga friends kasi ako na kumuha ng honors degree pero dito same school parin sila nagstart (i mean from first year)

walang pre-med, pre-med kasi dito... after year 12, if they wanna study Medicine (normally paired up sya with Surgery so Med and Surgery), apply lang sila kung mameet nila yun ATAR na set for that course. But they will need to take an exam too. Medyo sasalain, pero at least hindi ka aabutin ng 4 yrs bago makapag aral ng Med proper. Yan din gusto ko dito.

^ It's extremely expensive for an international student, lalo na kung Med. Check the CRICOS website to get an idea of the price... If you have money, by all means, do it, lalo na kung gusto mo talaga.

E.g. Monash Uni (graduate entry) - AU$ 228,792 (approx Php 10.3M) for the whole 4 years.

That's why I'd probably opt for a permanent residency first before "deciding" whether I'd take Med or not.

Just got my PVA a while ago!

Magbabayad na ako ng tuition, do you think may chance pa ma deny if I already receive my PVA?

how long kaya ma receive visa after sending them the COE? I've already sent them my passport the time I've lodged a month ago

pede ka parin ma deny kung ang bank statement mo eh di pasok sa kanilang calculation, so kelangang meron kang sapat na pera sa bank at ipakita sa kanila na you can afford to study here in australia.

Once you received your COE, sasabihin nila kung pede ka ng magpa medical, at dun palang sila magstart ng iyong assessment kapag na complete mo ng lahat. tiyak dika madedeny.

stated sa embassy na its $8k per year pero meron kasi iba na nakapag enrol ng kids nila paying the same fees as locals and without being asked on what type of visa they are on

^ may nakita ko somewhere after researching so much about primary schools that there are some catholic schools na cheaper but really good. I'm on a planning stage pa lang kc but I wanted the study and migrate program kaya baka next year pa ko. Search ka within the area. May nakita ko before para 2k yata yun tuition then donate if you want pero encouraged yun parents mag participate sa church. That is St Mary's in sydney nga lang so malamang sa adelaide meron din ganyan. Yun nag set ng tuition daw kc is the congregation yata not the school. Goodluck!

Nung dumating ako dito asawa ko lang kasama ko kasi nga ang mahal ng tuition for my daughter she's only 7 yrs old. Public schools are asking 7k-10k per year. Kaya hindi ko muna sya isinabay. After a long search of schools para sa kanya, private schools (mostly catholic schools) lang ang mura ang tuition fee. Kaya nai-enrol ko sya agad. Im only paying $1200 a year. Installment pa yan Im here pala in Northern Territory.
