Australian International Student

Hi all!

I was in Australia for 2 weeks for the holidays.  Sobrang nagustuhan ko to the point that I am considering of staying there na.  Easiest way to get there daw is by getting a student visa.  Can you guys help me please.

1.  If nakapagtapos ng BSA dito sa Pinas, pwede ba mag take ng masters degree in Australia?

2.  If I'll decide na mag TAFE instead of UNI (diploma) kasi super mahal sa uni (anyway, tapos naman ako dito satin), can I apply for permanent residency after 2 years as long as nasa SOL yung course like accounting or kailangan grad ka sa uni?

3.  Kapag ba nasa assessment level 3, kailangang relatives lang ang sponsor?  I have a sister in Australia and I don't think aabot yung savings nya ng 2-3m kasi kakabili lang nila ng 2 bahay.  YUng sis ko naman sa US, mukhang di rin ganun kalaki yung savings.  Parents ko naman, I'm sure they don't have that money now (that's a different story) :-( Pwede kaya sponsors ko are: my dad's bestfriend which happens to be my ninong sa kasal, ate ko sa Australia and sis ko sa US though mas malaki yung savings from my dad's bestfriend.

Nasa province kasi ako and walang agency dito for me to ask around.  I'm planning to go to Manila early March pa.  Please help.

1.  You can take any master degree as long as you qualify in the pre-requisite and basic requirements nung course and uni.

2.  Permanent residency is not a sure thing if you are going to study TAFE courses or if you are jumping from a student visa in general. SOL is already scrapped and was replaced by CSL.  But if you want to apply for perment residency the best possible way is to go for medical courses in the uni which are very expensive.  Medical courses will always be needed by other states if not NSW or VIC.

^though am not a student pero sabi nila chicken lang daw sa tafe. tyagain mo lang and attendance pasa ka na

the accent.. ugh i still have a hard time, especially pag sa phone. Nakakanibago lalo na pag nakausap mo galing sa ibang state na may pagka croco dundee, lagot na. But mostly sa Sydney, ok naman.

You'll get used to it. May adjustment stage talaga so better practice hearing Hugh Jackman sa youtube

parang di yan true sis..kasi kaka renew ko lang ng student visa ko at pede parin naman akong magwork at nasa website parin naman na pede kang magwork..

Hindi mahirap mag aral dito.  Puro projects, thesis. 

Accent- you'll get used to it after 3 months siguro.  Just say "pardon" everyrime you do not understand them.

Sis, wala namang updates re: this in the DIAC website. 

Sa mga sis lang natin on student visa, please be careful if you're working as well.  Just the past couple of weeks, we've had 3 of our staff on student visas sent home immediately by DIAC for various reasons -- working more than 20 hours / week or working while unenrolled (or on sick leave from school), etc.  DIAC seems to be on a crackdown on student visas because a lot of them are being abused.

currently, may consultancy kami na napuntahan and they offer Aged Care Program in AU. 10 mos course lang daw sya and possibilities of being employed sa mga Home Care or take the bridging program for nurses.

Question po: since 10 mos lang magiging course ko if ever, hindi ba qualified husband ko na makasama ko as dependent of student visa holder?

^ I reckon pwede mo isama ang husband mo as a dependant.

Bad trip dito sa Darwin,NT nagtaas sila ng tuition fee 1 grand din yun !  sakit sa bulsa. lol ! Ang iba nag rereklamo na about the tuition fee vs. 20 hrs of work per week. Sana kahit papaano itaas nila sa 25 or 30 hrs  Kawawa naman kasi yung mga nag re-rent tapos solo lang sila.

Answer: Pwede ka lang magsama ng dependant like your husband kapag ang course mo ay more than 12 months.  Kung plan nyo lang to come and work, better get cheap courses na pang 2 years.  You will have 2 years na makakawork ka and makakadecide ka din if you want to settle o go back home.

if licensed nurse ka na dito, no work experience, kelangan pa di ba mag-aral before mag-work? anong options kaya pag gusto mag-work dyan and anong maging situation kaya? anong steps? thank you.

^ required ka pa rin mag-aral. may mga subjects naman na cre-credit. yung iba 2-3 yrs lang ang nursing course dito. yun ang options na pwede mong gawin --- student visa which allows you to work 20 hours a week during school commenced at no work limitations during school holiday. goodluck sis.

or hindi ka pa mag-nurse nun? akala ko parang "front" lang ang pagstudy, masabi lang, tapos pwede ka na mag-nurse...
